Unless you're lucky enough to live in a warmer climate (and for that we are incredibly jealous), bundling up is a must. But there's no need to bulk up in uncomfortable layers when cute coats are readily available. The peacoat, a tried-and-true winter staple, is currently experiencing a modern upgrade with unique fabrics, cuts, and colors to fit anyone's personal style. Just check out how cool style bloggers Rachel Combs of Mouse Vox Vintage, Arushi Khosla of Fab Blab, and Justyna Baraniecki of Chichichic all look in their not-your-run-of-the-mill peacoats.

We adore vintage clothier/stylist/personal shopper Rachel's coat. The frog knot toggle closures are an upgrade from regular ol' buttons and transform her look from simple to luxe. The A-line cut is figure flattering, and the faux fur trim adds a sophisticated touch and extra protection from the cold.

Small details are what make India-based blogger Arushi's peacoat a standout piece. The wide open collar pulls the whole outfit together, setting this French Connection topper apart from a sea of regular wool peacoats. The burgundy hue adds a vibrant pop of color that works day or night.

Justyna's sky-blue coat might appear on the thin side, but what it lacks in lining it makes up for in length. Knee-long toppers, like Justyna's, add an extra level of wind protection for your oft left-out-in-the-cold legs. The color is also lively and fun--a great contrast for gray, gloomy days, while the delicate buttons give it a military/vintage-y feel.
