Whoa. Feel that slight chill in the air? It's getting to be that time of year where you need a jacket in the morning, which means summer's OVER. And even if you've had three months off school to go and DO something with your life, maybe you didn't really do much of anything. Sure, you had a shot at finding your real friends, to evolve, to actualize, maybe learn an instrument or have a torrid affair with a beautiful, exotic young man in some hella far locale, but chances are you worked a crappy job the NEXT TOWN OVER because sweeping stale popcorn from crusty theater floors was a job that was already TAKEN at your local mall.
Who cares? That's the perfect setup for some good old-fashioned, lying your ass off with a last-minute reinvention. Let your beauty game reflect your idealized killer summer—from golden skin and beached-out hair to exotic eyes. They don’t know what you did last summer. (So make it up!)

YOUR SUMMER STORY:
I felt nervous going to London for so long with ZERO cash, so thank goodness I linked up with Mario Testino's asst's brother, who is just the hottest, most wonderful man. And honestly—Mario is a genius, but those photos of the Hince/Moss wedding in Vogue don’t *even* do it justice. I didn't even ask to be included, but, well, Mario and Kate are just SO close. I mean—it was so organic, so heavenly, that I’m STILL glowing like an English rose. They're the best, you know.
WHAT YOU NEED
Liquid foundation, wedge sponge, powder brush, translucent powder, angled eyeliner brush, white iridescent eye shadow, white eyeliner pencil (with a blunted tip), crème highlighter
HOW TO DO IT
1. Apply foundation with fingers and blend well with wedge sponge.
2. Use powder brush to dust translucent powder lightly across face to set foundation.
3. Use angled eyeliner brush to apply eye shadow to the inner corner of your eye. Blend color so no harsh lines appear.
4. Use the eyeliner pencil to line the water line of your lower eyelid.
5. Apply highlighter to brow bone, skin above the Cupid’s bow on your lip and just above the cheekbones, blending as you go.
Tip: An ethereal look should nourish your skin. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is packed with organic ingredients like virgin coconut oil—an antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial that nourishes while it brightens.

THE LOOK: RACCOON EYES

YOUR SUMMER STORY:
It’s not like I chose The Darkness. The Darkness chose me. At least that’s what they told me in that vampire sleeper cell.... No, I can’t tell you where I was, but I can say that the whole sparkly, Twi-hard business is complete bull.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Eye shadow fluff brush, neutral eye shadow, black kohl eyeliner pencil, smudge brush, black eye shadow, crease brush, cotton swab, eye-makeup remover, white eyeliner pencil (with a blunted tip), concealer brush, concealer
HOW TO DO IT:
1. Use the eye shadow fluff brush to apply neutral eye shadow to the eyelid from the lash line to the eyebrow.
2. Use the black kohl eyeliner pencil to line your top eyelid, starting at the outer corner of your eye, following the natural lash line in toward the inner corner of your eye.
3. Use the same eyeliner pencil to shade in eyelid from lash line to slightly past the crease (but not all the way to the eyebrow).
4. Use the same eyeliner pencil to line the bottom eyelid with a thick line. When approaching the corners, pull the line out past your natural eye line to give your eye an almond shape.
5. Use the smudge brush to apply black eye shadow over all of the eyeliner on the top lid to soften the look and set the liner.
6. Use the crease brush to blend the black shadow above the crease, moving the brush back and forth (like a windshield wiper) in the crease.
7. Use the same crease brush to pull the eye shadow out just past your eyelid to the imaginary angled line that connects the outside corner of your eye and the outside edge of your eyebrow.
8. Use a cotton swab and eye-makeup remover to clean wayward shadow that may have fallen onto your cheeks.
9. Use the concealer brush to apply concealer with light tapping motions to the darker skin under the eye.
10. Use the smudge brush to smudge the liner under the eye to thicken and blur the line.
11. Apply the white eyeliner to the waterline of your entire upper and lower lids.
Tip: Keep the raccoon in check with Almay Oil-Free Makeup Remover Sticks—they’re super portable and convenient for onetime touch-ups.

YOUR SUMMER STORY:
After Coachella, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and Outside Lands, I was so programmed to pack a VIP pass for the day that I seriously spent 10 minutes looking for it before leaving for school this morning. Duh! I have to say though, I feel five pounds lighter without them.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Tail comb, two long ribbons, clear rubber hair bands, bobby pins, finishing spray or hair spray
HOW TO DO IT:
1. Use the tail comb to part damp hair down the center in two sections and separate them.
2. Start with one side. Place a ribbon on the scalp at the crown (use a bobby pin to hold it in place), then French braid hair down the nape of the neck, weaving the ribbon through as you braid. Secure with a hair band at the end.
3. Repeat on the other side.
4. Cross braids over one another and bring the ends up and across the top of the head, securing them with bobby pins on either side.
5. Finish with a light mist of spray.
Tip: For that fresh-outta-Outside-Lands look, pull at your braids a bit to make them appear lived in.

THE LOOK: FACE TATTOOS

THE ICONS: Ke$ha, Kat Von D
YOUR SUMMER STORY:
I know they look all tough, but the Hells Angels are actually a bunch of really cool guys—my boyfriend taught me how to ride and hooked me up with free ink. Isn’t that, like, so sweet?
WHAT YOU NEED:
Liquid foundation, wedge sponge, powder brush, translucent powder, fine pointed liner brush, black liquid or gel liner
HOW TO DO IT:
1. Apply foundation and blend with wedge sponge.
2. Dip the powder brush in translucent powder and lightly dust the face to set the foundation.
3. Dip the liner brush in the liner and draw whatever design you like. When drawing repetitive designs, make them larger along the border of your face and smaller as they get closer to the center of your face.
4. Once the liner has dried, dust translucent powder over design to set liner.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you get the desired darkness.
Tip: The hyper-fine tip on Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner is precise enough to deliver convincing calligraphy, natch.

THE LOOK: BEACHY BEDHEAD

THE ICONS: Brigette Bardot, Lindsay Lohan, Cameron Diaz
YOUR SUMMER STORY:
Ugh. That Caribbean sand is ridiculously fine—it’s just impossible to get out of my hair. Pippa even leant me some of the Duchess’s custom conditioner to help the cause, but *casual hair flip* I guess you can’t take the Mustique out of the girl.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Mousse, blow dryer with nozzle attachment, large round brush, large-sized Velcro ceramic-lined rollers, ½ inch curling iron, medium hold hair spray or finishing spray
HOW YOU DO IT:
1. Apply mousse to the roots of damp hair.
2. Flip head upside down and blow-dry hair, finger combing through it.
3. Flip head right side up and use large round brush to blow-dry all of the hair on the crown of the head in 1-inch sections.
4. Starting at the hairline along the forehead, wrap 2-inch sections of hair in rollers. Stop when you’ve reached the back of the crown.
5. Use large round brush to blow-dry remaining hair.
6. Spiral curl 1 to 2-inch sections of hair, leaving the ends uncurled.
7. Remove rollers from step 4 and run fingers through the curls to break them up.
8. Finish with a light mist of spray.
Tip: Use Bumble and Bumble Texture instead of traditional mousse to create an extra matte and messy bedhead. Then finish with a salt spray for believable beachyness.
