Gregg Sulkin and Selena Gomez on "Wizards of Waverly Place."

We don't know about you guys, but we've always kind of had a love/hate relationship with loungewear. It's weird to think that's there's a SPECIFIC collection of clothes made just to lay around in. Are comfy cotton daytime dresses just not enough? Apparently not, which is why sweatpants (oddly enough made for sweating in) were born. And you know what? Aside from the possible butt branding (you know, that text scrawled across the behind), sweatpants are hard to jazz up. Well friends, thanks to genius/musician/actress/style guru Selena Gomez, we now have a way to spice up sweats—layer them with patterned shorts!
Peep Selena (above) on an upcoming episode of Wizards of Waverly Place (which airs Oct. 14). We haven't seen the ep yet (obvi) but somehow she and her friend ended up in a pair of the same shorts—and not just any ol' shorts, BRIGHT yellow and black houndstooth shorts, which she put OVER sweatpants. We did the side head tilt and were like, "Hm. Shorts over sweatpants. Interesting. And warm." So, basically, we've decided we're going to try this. In the comfort of our home. While no one is watching us. On a REALLY cold winter night. But MAJOR props to Selena for dishing out this look to the public so we can copy it in our free time (LOL. Free time). Also, does this mean her boyfriend Justin Bieber can wear the same shorts as her AT THE SAME TIME?! Selena, girl, please do this with Justin and take a pic. We'll love you forever (like, even more than we do now). xoxo, MTV Style
