Whitney Port announced she'll be doing her first ever Whitney Eve runway show at New York Fashion Week, and we could NOT be more excited. We've been following Whit since she was a wee Teen Vogue intern on The Hills (with Lauren Conrad!), and then followed her as she moved across the country to begin her own fash-filled NYC journey on The City. And, I'm sorry, but can we just say one thing real quick? It's about dang time! Whitney works hard, plays nice, and, um, haiii, we love her Whitney Eve line. Judging by the Fall 2011 lookbook from last year, we should be prepared to expect tons of vibrant, Aztec-y prints that come in everything from crop tops to harem pants to cozy blazers. Her contemporary Whitney Eve collection features "charming menswear-inspired pieces" and "embodies a whimsical aesthetic toughened up with masculine tailoring," according to a press release. But what does WHITNEY think about all of this amazingness?!
She says, "My collection has grown so much over the past few years, and the next step for me as a designer was to put on my own runway show. I am so excited to show on schedule as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and can’t wait to show my new fall collection on the runway." Awww, that's our girl. We can't wait to see it, either!
The Fall 2012 Whitney Eve collection will be shown at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 in The Studio at Lincoln Center.
