Start doing your dexterity exercises, ladies. As the temperature rises, so does the pressure to whip up a great braid. What more stylish way to easily combat both the heat AND rampant humidity than with a funky braided updo like U.K. pop star Pixie Lott's variation on the fishtail braid?
Not quite a braid headband but definitely no standard fare herringbone, Pixie swoops a wide plaited fishtail braid from the nape of her neck across her forehead to her left ear. The style is appropriately disheveled, the perfect traveling hair, but not overtly messy to where homegirl gives away that she was just slackjawed and drooling with her head resting against a window seat. Not only is this a great summer hairstyle, it's a perfect disguise for slowly growing out bangs. Just slap the braid across your dome, muss out a few flyaways, and no one will be the wiser.
