We haven't had the good fortune to attend many operas in our lives, but our one experience high up in the balcony of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, convinced us that they're pretty magical. When we heard that Rodarte was teaming up with the Los Angeles Philharmonic on a production of Don Giovanni at L.A.'s Walt Disney Concert hall, therefore, we started looking up cross country flights immediately. Well, the production went off without a hitch, and now Nars, one of our all time fave make up companies, has revealed some behind the scenes shots from the Opera. Shot by Autumn de Wilde, the photos give us an inside look at what went on behind the scenes of one of Opera's coolest productions (maybe ever).
Obviously we love a good red lip, and the combination of the singer's washed out periwinkle dress and hair and the custom fire engine hue on her lips is beyond striking. The lip was created using a combination of the Amazon Lip Liner Pencil, Train Bleu Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, and Damned Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. While we haven't tried our hands at color combinations as involved as this, we just might now that we have a recipe.
What do you think of Nars' beauty looks for Don Giovanni?
