Recently I was in the basement of a big house in the suburbs, poking around, and I noticed that every wall of the distinctly un-manly cave was lined with magazines. I was drawn towards the white spines like a dog to a bone, and when I got close enough, I realized that the person whose house it was (not telling who) had what appeared to be every single fashion magazine published since the 80's. I so badly wanted to flip through the pages, smell the perfume sample-y smell, but I held back. It wasn't my house after all.
Next Issue, a new app created out of a partnership between a company of the same name and publishers Conde Nast, Hearst, Meredith, News Corp., and Time Inc. is like a digital version of that Vogue and Glamour filled basement. For a flat monthly subscription price, users can read 39 of your favorite mags from their tablet or phone!
There are two subscription tiers for the new app. $10 gets you all your favorite monthly and bi-weekly titles, like Vanity Fair and Vogue, while $15 a month also includes weeklies like The New Yorker, People, and Time. The subscription also gets you access to back issues of all of the magazines. If you just want to keep reading the magazines you're reading, though, you can also subscribe to specific ones or get single issues. The app also works if you're already a print subscriber-you can use your subscription number to access digital versions of the titles you're already reading.
What do you think? Would you read all of your magazines on a mobile device?
