Demi Lovato, Katy Perry And Amy Heidemann.
Who cares if we weren't alive to experience the awesomeness of victory rolls when they first appeared on the scene back in the 1940s? Now the trend is back and more modern than ever. Just ask Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Amy Heidemann, who are all giving a fresh spin on the pinup fad with their own (and very different!) takes on the look. Take Demi, for example. She's been working the fashion game hard on the X-Factor red carpet these days in Topshop, Topshop...oh, and more Topshop. On the show's audition tour thus far she's paired the mass retailer with pink ombre hair and high ponytails, but we've got to admit- the brand's neon orange dress and motorcycle jacket she rocked this week looks unexpectedly awesome with her retro 'do, don't you think?!
To say Katy Perry knows a thing or two about being a beauty chameleon would be an HUGE understatement (just check out all the looks in her "Wide Awake" vid for a refresher). Needless to say, the singer lived up to her versatile rep back in March at the Echo Music Awards in Berlin, sweeping all of her bright blue hair into a giant "S" roll in the front of her head. We've got a feeling that old school stars like Betty Grable wouldn't have the guts to rock a sapphire-hued hairstyle, but Katy totally pulls it off.
If you still need convincing that the roll has returned, then look no further than Amy Heidemann. The frontwomen of pop group Karmin has made the suicide hair roll her beauty trademark since Day One. In fact, she's SO consistent that we don't think we'd recognize her without one-seriously. Tell us what you think of Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Amy Heidemann's pin-up hairstyles in the comments below...and more importantly, would you wear a hair roll yourself?
