The kids of the CW, CBS, and Showtime had a major reason to celebrate over the weekend: they were feting their already highly successful shows, introducing new ones, and prepping for the upcoming television season. In other words, let the countdown begin! And while we have to wait until September to veg out to favorites like Hart of Dixie, Shameless, and the new CW series Arrow , at least we don't have to wait to obsess over the stars' fashion choices. Rachel Bilson, Katie Cassidy and Emmy Rossum all turned out to the event looking every bit the part of Hollywood PYTS in black and white ensembles. Although all three ingenues may have stuck to a similar color scheme, they each totally gave the monochromatic look their personal spin with menswear-inspired touches, fabrics like lace, and pops of cherry red.
Ever since her days as Summer Roberts (The O.C., RIP) we've always counted on Rachel Bilson to give serious fashion inspiration onscreen AND off. Here she's taken one of the trickiest trends-menswear- and worked it in an easy, wearable way. She's paired her sheer sleeveless Malene Birger blouse with slouchy Alexander McQueen trousers and feminine details like white pumps and pretty natural makeup. The outfit is a bit more boundary-pushing than the simple cream frock Rachel wore to the CW Upfronts earlier this summer, and that's exactly why we're so into it. Nicely done! Relative newcomer Katie Cassidy (remember her from Gossip Girl?!) made a statement with a black-and-white printed sleeveless top, red skirt, and chunky black heels. With rumors swirling about a possible role in the 50 Shades of Grey movie, mark our words- we'll be seeing a LOT of this girl on the red carpet in the future. Lastly, there's Emmy Rossum, who we're used to seeing in old t-shirts and sweats on Shameless. She's glammed it up big time in a Zuhair Murad black and white lace cocktail dress and Christian Louboutin sandals. Topped off with retro waves and classic red lips, Emmy proves that Old Hollywood and television's Next Big Things definitely don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Black and white, three ways: they all look great, but between Rachel, Katie, and Emmy, whose outfit do you MOST want to steal?
