Can you believe there are only three more days until the VMAs? We're getting all butterfly-ified with excitement, and we can bet our Red Carpet Report host, Teen Wolf's Holland Roden, is feeling everything we are, only times about 500 billion. In the next installment of her Timeline to the VMAs, we'll follow Holland as she goes to her makeup trial, an opportunity to try out some beauty looks that she can make work for whichever dress she chooses. With the help of celebrity makeup artist Beau Nelson, who was armed with a complete collection of Covergirl makeup, Holland tried out two super versatile looks, one focused on a bright lip color and the other on a smokey eye. For the lip, Beau kept it simple on the rest of Holland's face, using the Clean Liquid Foundation to make Holland's (already amazing) skin look even more clear and soft, the Cheekers blush in Plumberry Glow for a little bit of a sheer flush and some Lashblast Volume mascara all over her lashes. Beau gave some great tips on how to apply foundation, and we've found ourselves using his tips every morning. The centerpiece of this look is the bright lip, of course, and Beau used the BlastFlipstick in Perky to add a pretty pink punch to Holland's pout. The second look called upon one of Holland's biggest musical influences, Adele, for inspiration. Beau gave Holland a strong, heavily lined eye, using the Perfect Point Plus eyeliner to create a clean, classic cat eye, which he then brought even further into the limelight by pairing it with a nude lip using the BlastFlipstick in Whisper. He also taught us another pro-tip, which is that when you're doing a nude lip, it helps to apply some foundation to the lips first as a base. The more you know.
Watch Holland's makeup trial below, and tell us which of her beauty looks you think she should rock on the red carpet come Thursday!
