Our retro girl has gone modern! Lana Del Rey—a.k.a. the queen of '60s-inspired sky-high bouffants and liquid cat liner—has traded in her traditional deep-parted old Hollywood waves for a totally sleek and straight 'do. We barely recognized the singer (and current face of H&M!) at the London Fashion Week Mulberry spring/summer 2013 show today thanks to her super slick, freshly-dyed black strands. In fact, she wasn't even sporting her signature eye makeup OR a bold lip. *gasp* What happened to her "gangster Nancy Sinatra" vintage style?
Call us a creature of habit, but we'd be sad to see Lana permanently ditch her retro-glam look. I meannnn, who else could channel Jackie O.'s chic style as well as Lana or execute a totally amazing, vintage-inspired photoshoot in an old convertible at the drop of a hat? No one! *sobs* Don't get us wrong—her hair itself looks GREAT. It's super shiny and healthy, and we LOVE that deep brunette color, but there's something missing. Perhaps she's just following the NYFW center-part beauty trend (apparently it's a hit because it makes everyone look younger) or wanted to switch it up for a change, but, um, can we have our old Lana back? Pretty please? Let us know which 'do you like better in the comments below!
