When it comes to bragging rights, M.I.A. pretty much has them all. She's the only artist ever to be nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Brit Award, Mercury Prize AND the Alternative Turner Prize. She's also worked some serious political muscle by raising awareness about the civil war in her home country of Sri Lanka, published a brand new coffee table tome by Rizzoli, and just announced an upcoming collab with none other than Versace. NBD, right?! Now the musician is talking about all her rad projects- not to mention, flaunting her fashion icon status- on the cover of this month's Paper magazine. Decked out a kaleidoscopic array of prints from Versace (obviously), Kenzo, and Acne, this trippy spread is TOTAL AND ABSOLUTE proof that more patterns really are merrier.
M.I.A. is pulling no punches on the cover, wearing not just one but two green tops (look closely and you'll see the second layer) paired with some shimmery green custom pants and Kenzo flats. Normally this would be a "don't try this at home"- type of situation, but the star looks SO good in this crazy design mashup, we just might attempt it ourselves. We're also bigtime fans of her Tom Manaton headpiece and Delfina Delettrez statement ring.

Rita Ora's hundred dollar nails might be forever burned into our memory, BUT M.I.A. has officially taken the money motif to the next level with her silk blouse. Oh, and get this- she made it herself! Yep, the top is officially customized by the artist, which she paired with a vintage red Versace vest. Is this just a coincidence, or a teaser of the new MIA x Versace collab to come? Start placing bets now, and let us know what you think in the comments!
