We don't know about you, but between bouts of spring fever, we're having a little bit of a crisis. We got so used to our boots and our all black ensembles this winter that now we don't know what to wear! While it's tempting to throw all of our chilly weather staples out the window and jump head first into floral dresses, bare legs, and denim shorts (mmm, summer), we have to admit that it's not THAT warm yet, and some serious in-between dressing is called for. These, friends, are the times that separate the women from the girls, as they say. Good transitional dressing is truly an art form, and it is not to be discounted. It's also not nearly as challenging as we all think once you have your anchor pieces locked down, and one of those is without a doubt a solid pair of flats. Ballet flats, loafers, sneaks, all will do, but right now what we're really falling for are playful oxfords. Whether floral, neon, holographic or just plain BRIGHT, the classic lace ups add that springtime je ne sais quoi to all of our outfits, and serve as a bit of a buffer when we're not sure what jacket to wear, whether it's warm enough for that microfloral dress, or...well, you get the idea. Lucky for us oxfords are trending in a major way, so there are tons of options to choose from!
It may not quite be time for those floral dresses, but oxfords are the next best thing.

Probably the simplest way to make your wardrobe pop without having to do a whole spring overhaul is with a pair of bright floral oxfords. Luckily, there are a ton of options out there, spanning an enormous variety of price points. Some of our faves are Forever 21's Floral Oxfords ($26.50), Dr. Martens Floral 3-eye oxford ($120.00), Splendid Nickerie Oxfords ($78.00), ASOS Mastermind Flatforms ($46.55), Aldo Foliroli in Natural Print ($40.00), and Kimchi Blue embroidered eyelet oxford ($49.00).
Pastel oxfords are a surefire cure for boring boots syndrome.

If floral isn't so much your style but you still want that April-showers-bring-May-flowers pop, there are tons of bright Oxfords that can get you through the season. From solid neons to bright accents, you can also pick and choose just how vibrant you want to go. This can also be a great way to get a little more daring with mixing the bright pieces in your closet, without committing fully to a color block ensemble. There's plenty of time for that this summer, after all. Some of our favorite bright oxfords are the Aldo Foliroli in navy ($24.98), Sam Edelman Jerome Oxfords ($150.00), ASOS Mascot Brogues ($53.20), J Crew Suede oxfords ($228.00), Forever 21 Canvas espadrille shoes ($24.80), and Bass <3's Rachel Antonoff Maebird ($129.00)
What's your favorite style of bright oxfords for spring?
