The road to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards is speeding up toward showtime on Sunday, April 14. Accordingly, our pre-show red carpet correspondents Karlie Kloss and Josh Horowitz are doing their stretches, lunges, and lifting reps, readying themselves for the big night. How, you ask? In red carpet training camp, of course! When you think of award show red carpets, you're most likely flooded with memories of well-heeled ladies and dudes, gliding down the step-and-repeat with beaming smiles, enviable poise, and bajillions of dollars worth of couture. What probably doesn't come immediately to mind is the unseen, almost warzone-status buzz of activity from publicists, talent wranglers, and a sea of press all vying for an interview with the hottest star of the moment. That's where the training camp comes in. We followed Karlie and Josh into the top secret practice headquarters, as they started on the first leg of host training.
The focus of their first mission is Best Male Performance nominee Channing Tatum, and Karlie's up at bat with the task of nabbing an interview with the Magic Mike star. We're calling it "Operation: Chasing Channing." The red carpet obstacle course is comprised of three different stages: "Punk The Publicist" (where Karlie will have to sweet-talk her way to access, HINT: compliments are key *WINK*), "Can The Camera Man" (where our House of Style co-host cutie's ballet background comes in handy as she narrowly misses wire cable booby traps and precarious lens extensions), and "The Gift Bag Barrier" (a test of physical strength and will power that proves encrusted phone cases and branded tote bags are no match for Karlie). Get a peek at Karlie and Josh in training in the video below and see how their skills play out in real life when the two team up to host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show live on April 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
