OK, we already know that Dakota and Elle Fanning have some seriously opposite personal styles. So leave it to these girls to interpret the night's "Punk: Chaos to Couture" theme Rodarte in two VERY different ways. The actresses brought double the drama on the 2013 Met Gala red carpet tonight, decked out in head-to-toe creations by fellow California sister act Kate and Laura Mulleavy. Dakota went for dark and shadowy glamour in her black number with sheer panels across her stomach. That deep v-neck is MAJOR, as is the statement fingers motif along her sides. Topping off the look with a smoky cat eye, this is a sultry tip-toe into punkland that's perfect for D.
Dakota's all-black piece might be not QUITE as extreme as her costumes in The Runaways, but hey, baby steps! Elle, on the other hand, cranked things up in a huge way in a tie-dye print dress with a white bib overlay. Plus, that silvery spiked earpiece that's peeking out from behind her side braid? Epic! And major props to the teenager for even going so far as to coordinate her eye makeup with her red and blue ensemble (a beauty look that obviously we can't wait to copy). Swoopy blue eyeshadow might not be the best look for everyone, but leave it to this boundary-pushing style star to pull it off perfectly and with fearless confidence. After all, attitude is everything...especially on a night that's all about punk.
They both look great, but Dakota or Elle: whose Rodarte Met Gala look do you like best?!
