Alison Mosshart: she's a singer, songwriter, and one of the current titleholders for our, ahem, totally official Coolest Ladies Ever™ list. But just in case her rad personal style and constantly evolving hair isn't enough to convince you of The Kills and The Dead Weather frontwoman's fashion prowess, we've found one more reason. The rockstar has teamed up with luxe French label Surface to Air on THE ultimate edgy leather jacket. Appropriately dubbed "The Alison," the '70s-inspired topper comes adorned with swingy fringe, leather studding around the collar, and a red, white and blue satin lining. In other words, it's the ideal addition to pretty much anyone's wardrobe, regardless of whether or not we're hitting up Paris Fashion Week or regularly sharing the stage with Jamie Hince and Jack White.
Considering she has already amassed more than FORTY of them over the years, let's just say Alison's kind of a pro on the leather jacket front. But turns out her closet was missing a key style which eventually motivated the musician to just create it herself. "I’ve been looking for a biker fringe seventies jacket with an eighties cut and skinny arms, and I can never find it,” she told Style.com of the story behind the collab. It wasn't too long before the rocker teamed up with S2A founder Jérémie Rozan to design the black number, making her the latest in a long line of amazing creative brand partnerships, ranging from Kim Gordon to Leigh Lezark, Justice to Theophilus London.
Priced at a cool $1,200 (eek!), "The Alison" jacket definitely doesn't come cheap. But hey, we already know that fringe never really goes out of style. And if we wear it every single day for the rest of our lives— which, duh, we will— that's got to count for something. Right?!
