Sound the alarm: Rihanna's costume designer, Adam Selman, is set to make his Fashion Week debut with a women's ready-to-wear collection on September 5th. Ummm, that's next week! We are supes excited to see what he has in store, especially since he described the collection to WWD as both sexy and sporty. Where's the list to sign up for one of everything?
Selman worked with Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, and Michael Jacskon before landing the gig to design Rih's costumes for her 2011 Loud tour. Since then, Selman has designed looks for Rihanna both on and off stage—this year's jewel-encrusted Cropover bikini, anyone?—and even acted as the head of design for Rihanna's River Island collabo, so, yeah, he's her go-to guy for all things fashun. It was his Rih X River Island experience that inspired him to bring his own designs to the people, which will undoubtedly be a tiny bit different than designing for a woman who can (and does) pull off anything. Speaking of Rihanna (when are we not, amiright?), she is a walking billboard for her River Island collection: no need for print ads featuring models, River Island, just print out some of badgalriri's Instagram pics and you'll be set. #marketing.

The collection is rumored to contain some sweatshirts, boxy, sports jersey-esque tops, as well as robes, and slip dresses. There will also be some RihInspired beachwear, so your dream of owning a bejeweled bikini may soon come true! Congratulations. The other good news is that the collection will not be in conflict with Rihanna's River Island collab, price-wise: Selman is hoping the collection will be picked up by retailers like Opening Ceremony, Barneys, and Net-A-Porter—dresses are priced around $400.
Stay tuned for the debut next week, we will keep you posted with his best looks, what pieces Rihanna is likely to wear, and how many bikinis you should plan to add to your swimsuit collection.
