In between preparing for hosting and performing on SNL, possibly landing a Versace campaign, and debuting a flying dress, last night, Lady Gaga found time to open the new H&M in Times Square. The store, which is open just in time to start selling the new Isabel Marant collaboration, is also one of the 175 across the country which will be selling a limited edition pink foil version of ARTPOP.
After her frightening Glamour Magazine's Women Of The Year Awards outfit and the 10 different looks she wore at her artRAVE, Gaga toned it down for H&M, opting for a brightly colored, paint splattered, jumpsuit. And because she still is Lady Gaga, even without a hairy mask, she wore her fave 9-inch black patent-leather stiletto boots. Those boots go with everything in Gagaloo's world.

While the outfit was rather subdued, especially by Gaga standards, it also seemed to be a subtle homage to her "Applause" makeup: bright, overlapping, swatches of color. Gaga wore the makeup a lot this summer: on the single cover, in the "Applause" video, and even on the IRL street. She seems to have since retired it, trading in shoking makeup for eyebrow-raising accessories like her hat/mask combination, her claw, and her creepy grill.
Gaga is hosting and performing on SNL this weekend, so we're bound to get some new performance fashion. Maybe this jumpsuit was foreshadowing the resurrection of her "Applause" makeup? We'll see!
