You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout, I'm telling you why: If you do, your awesome holiday manicure is going to seem WAY less jolly. Seriously, nobody likes a Grinch. Regardless of whether you've been naughty or nice, we're going to let you have a present anyway. (We wouldn't even know where to get coal if we had to, TBH.) This year, we've teamed up with COVERGIRL to give you the gift of adorable nail art in the form of tiny Santa hats! Ho ho ho!
Round up your reindeer, crank up your sleigh, and snag some supplies! For this tutorial, we used COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Glosses in Forever Festive 185, Snow Storm 110, and Crystal Clear 105. You'll also need some washi tape, which you can pick up at your local craft store. Once you're ready to roll, cut 20 pieces of the tape into one-inch strips and fasten them to the edge of something you can access easily. Then apply a clear base coat of Crystal Clear 105, and let it dry.
Next, affix the washi tape to each nail to create a V.
Apply a coat of Forever Festive 185 to the visible nail between the V (it's totally OK if it gets on the tape), and hang tight while it dries. Or sing, like, two Mariah Carey Christmas songs in your mirror.
Carefully remove the washi tape with the same precision you'd use if you were in the middle of a cutthroat game of Operation. JK, it's not that serious, but do be careful not to smudge or smear.
Apply Snow Storm 110 to the tips of your nails, French manicure-style. These are the fuzzy brims of your soon-to-be adorable Santa hats!
Using Snow Storm 110 again, along with a nail-art brush, paint a tiny circle on the top of each hat to make the pom-poms. Sing two more Mariah Carey songs.
Finally, finish off with a top coat of Crystal Clear 105. Sing one more Mariah Carey song just for the heck of it, and go use those pretty fingers to wrap presents for your friends and family! Merry Christmas, y'all!
