A Christmas episode of a TV show can only mean one thing: festive fashion. We caught up with Eric Daman, costume designer on The Carrie Diaries for all the awesome '80s swag Carrie and her stylish boss, Larissa, wore on last night's episode.

When Larissa gathered everyone after exploring the western frontier, you knew she had discovered something major. She is passionate about one thing this episode: DENIM. Eric gave us the full rundown on her denim discovery: "I can't really talk this week's fashion without mentioning Larissa's denim jumpsuit! When I read the script and learned Larissa discovered denim, I knew it had to be a TV fashion moment to remember (and an over-the-top '80s tribute to boot)! My team searched high and low, and we finally came across this truly amazing design on Etsy. (BTW, Etsy is totally my new BFF!!) This jumpsuit had ALL the '80s bells and whistles in one! Shoulder pads? Check! Puffy paint pen and bedazzled gems? Check! Bustier and bolero? Check!"

While there was a lot of drama leading up to the final montage, the episode was closed on a happy note, with everyone celebrating Christmas with their friends and families. Eric gave us the deets on Carrie's sequined sweater and full skirt, saying, "A tree-trimming scene is a classic TV holiday moment, so naturally, I trimmed Ms. Bradshaw in a retro-inspired classic Carrie costume. The white and crystal Topshop sweater glistens like the first snow, and I fell in love with this skirt from the '50s that I found at my favorite, downtown vintage boutique, Amarcord. I call it the 'Roman Holiday' skirt."
