MTV's new series Faking It debuted last night and—guess what?—it's really good! A new show means new characters to meet and, more important, more wardrobes to discuss. As with many MTV shows (see: Teen Wolf), the fashion choices seem totally appropriate for high schoolers, and we are very excited to see what Karma, Amy, Shane, and Liam wear in the rest of the episodes.
I'm getting ahead of myself, though—let's talk about the pilot's most fashionable moments.
Amy and Karma on 'Faking It.'
We knew we'd like this show when it opened with a shot from within a closet. Hi, we like closets and the things that go in them. Karma (Katie Stevens), one of the two lead characters, then asks her best friend/fake girlfriend, Amy (Rita Volk), how blind people get dressed, which is never really resolved.
Amy and her mom on 'Faking It.'
Within the first two minutes of the episode we get another style shot—Amy's mom steaming a peplum dress. It seems prettttty clear that Amy and her mom have different tastes in clothes.

We are then introduced to Shane, who we have a feeling is going to be Faking It's breakout style star. I mean, that shirt. He was wearing florals before they were trendy. This scene also features Karma in an (accidentally) sheer dress, which means it was time to break out the censor bar.
Amy on 'Faking It.'
Amy, who seems to have a more casual style than Karma, then appears in probably the best shirt I've ever seen on TV. Stacks of doughnuts. Doughnuts on doughnuts. I have a feeling we'll be into Amy's style considering how much we are also into doughnuts.
Karma on 'Faking It.'
And finally, those fake eyelashes. Karma obviously needs to look good for her photo shoot, but fake eyelashes are next level. Maybe that's why they'll take her "at least an hour" to apply them.

After the application, which we unfortunately don't get to see, Karma runs into Liam, who definitely notices her lusher lashes. As in, he definitely notices them when he's holding a row of them between his fingertips. Thankfully, this embarrassing loss of lashes didn't stop Karma and Liam from, um, [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS, WATCH THE EPISODE].
Based on what we've seen so far, we are very excited for the rest of the season. Episode 2 can't come soon enough, TBH.
