Avengers assemble in the skincare aisle!
Remember when Captain America rang in the New York Stock Exchange? Yeah, me neither. However, Kiehl's and Marvel Custom Solutions have paired up for the second time to assemble a triple threat of Avengers (Black Widow and the Falcon are joining super-soldier Captain America) for a limited 12-page custom Captain America comic book.
The comic finds the trio along with S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in space fighting off AIM soldiers who are after "rare botanicals" that supposedly comprise the Super Soldier Serum responsible for Cap. Soon, though, they realize that M.O.D.O.K. and the botanicals are in the East Village apothecary.
Captain America and Black Widow compromise the World's Toughest Neighborhood Watch ever.
This might seem like an unusual team up, and well, it is. You might also be thinking: Why Captain America? Bear with me. Of the current movie-verse Avengers: Thor has an amazing head of hair, which would lend itself to shampoo and conditioner promotions, and Iron Man has an impressively manicured beard, which I suspect comes with a medicine cabinet of products that would include the likes of Kiehl's, La Mer, and Mario Badescu. And Captain? Well. Kiehl's is an American company with a flagship based in the East Village. Steve Rogers on the other hand is from the Lower East Side (no, really). Not to mention that since he's been on ice since the end of World War II and thawed only recently, he's a wrinkle-free senior citizen and prime spokesmodel material.
The Triple Threat collection from Kiehl's includes a cleanser (Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash), a shaving cream (Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream), and moisturizer (Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment). The limited-edition comic is available online, Kiehl's retail stores, and department-store counters nationwide.
