As a ‘90s kid growing up in Nashville, Tennessee, Shirley Manson was IT. She had flame-red hair, porcelain skin, kohl-rimmed eyes, and an affinity for black. In other words, she was everything I wasn’t and everything I dreamed about becoming, especially while I sat bored in my middle school history class (probably humming “Only Happy When It Rains” underneath my breath). Since Garbage’s beginnings back in 1994, the Scottish singer has proven that you can look amazing and rock out at the same time, and I love her for it. She was the rough-and-tumble cool girl in the band’s early days, pairing black dresses with combat boots and fishnets or using her pink boa as a stage prop at a show in Germany-yes, the same boa that graced their 1995 debut self-titled album. Over the years, Manson has stomped all over the fashion map, wearing everything from punky schoolgirl-inspired outfits to suspenders to pretty much every type of mini dress under the sun. Before Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga, Manson was the ultimate 1990s fashion star, and still is- even after the decade has ended.
Beth Ditto in Gossip's "Move In The Right Direction" video.

We actually didn't think it was possible to love Beth Ditto any more than we already do, but leave it to the Gossip frontwoman to go and actually make our heads EXPLODE in the band's ridiculously awesome new music video. The singer is no stranger to crazy-cool fashion choices- who else can perform barefoot in a sequined dress and still be the glammest person in the room?- but we've got to admit, she's outdone even herself this time around. Set on a bare boned soundstage with song lyrics splashed across the walls and the floors, the tricolored "Move In The Right Direction" vid is pure get-up-and-dance Gossip fun. Ditto's rocking out front and center in three different outfits, a belted black minidress- a red bodycon number, and a red and black striped frock- but it's her bedazzled brows that really steal the show.
Kat Graham on Tuesday night's premiere of Hip Hop Squares.

Looking for an excuse to cancel your plans tonight? You're in luck, because we're serving up two reasons to spend some quality time vegging out on the couch (yeah, you're welcome...). Not only is the new show Hip Hop Squares finally premiering on MTV 2, but our fashion crush Kat Graham will make a very special appearance in the debut ep. The singer and Vampire Diaries star shows her stuff in the hip hop revamp of the old-school TV series Hollywood Squares, holding her own against fellow guest stars Ghostface Killah and Nick Cannon. Okay, and while the show is technically about their pop culture IQs, we're currently distracted by Kat's amazing outfit in the sneak peek. But really, how can you not be?! She’s sporting her signature high pony (sleek, not curly this time around) and an amazing neon tropical print dress.
Whitney Eve's Pony Tee and Roller Girl Tank.

It should go without saying that Teen Vogue intern-turned-reality TV star-turned designer Whitney Port knows a thing or two about dressing for summer. In addition to her fashion background, this girl grew up in sunshine-y California, home to 100-degree weather and a little music festival called Coachella (you might've heard of it...). So it's a total no-brainer that the 27-year-old has just rolled out a pair of tops that will fit right into pretty much any summer concert you've got on the radar. Available exclusively at Nasty Gal, the Pony Tee and Roller Girl tank from the Whitney Eve label are stamped with bright Aztec-inspired prints, a fun homage to all those loud patterns that stomped down the Spring runways at Burberry, Alberta Ferretti, and Mulberry .
Amber Rose, Wiz Khalifa, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
Two of our favorite music industry couples saw things in black and white (literally!), working awesome B&W looks at the Billboard Music Awards tonight in Las Vegas. Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz, along with Amber Rose and fiance Wiz Khalifa, played matchy-matchy with each other in these unexpected hues, proving that opposites really do attract.
Let's be real: Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa have never really obeyed the fashion rules, and this time around the pair upped the ante in equally rockstar-worthy outfits. Rose paired her studded strapless minidress with gold pumps and hoop earrings, adding pops of color with bright yellow nails and cherry lipstick (and hello, body glitter!). We love how Wiz color-coordinated with his girlfriend while still doing his own thing in slim black jeans, white tee, and vest. He topped off the streetwear style with bright red sneakers, hat, and shades. Nicely done!
Park day, anyone?.

Fresh white Keds will always remind us of our elementary school recess days, but the all-American sneaker company has grown up and officially gone high fashion. In addition to its signature kicks, this season the label has teamed up with NYC and LA retailer Opening Ceremony on a brand-new capsule collection. Stocked with breezy separates like cropped trousers, collared blouses, and enough printed dresses to fill your pattern quota all summer long, the adorable offshoot takes cues from the different variations of the classic Keds Champion style (Madewell, J.Crew, and Alice & Olivia all have their own version of the sneak). Cementing the cute factor is the collection's lookbook, shot by famed photographer Cass Bird.
Cassie wears a Salvatore Ferragamo jumpsuit to Cannes Film Festival.

Leave it to Cassie to convince us we need to add a silk leopard jumpsuit to our wardrobe STAT. The musician-slash-model is already the queen of tricky fashion trends (after all, she still manages to pull off the half-shaved head thing), and this week she worked this amazing Salvatore Ferragamo onepiece to Cannes Film festival. Straight from the designer's Spring/Summer 2012 runway, the exotic orange and purple number is splashed with bold leopard print and adorned with a tie-waist cinch. It should go without saying that this eye-catching outfit is definitely not for the shy- but considering it's Cassie we're talking about, is it really any surprise the singer paired the piece with equally flashy accessories? She's added white Givenchy heels, a Balenciaga carryall bag, and, the piece de resistance, matching shades.
The Best Coast frontwoman wears a vintage hand-me-down jacket.

Shopping Bethany Cosentino's new Urban Outfitters collection, is preeeeeetty close to raiding the Best Coast frontwoman's undeniably amazing closet (okay, maybe that's a stretch, but still...). However, if you're dying to get your hands on that awesome Joni Mitchell varsity jacket she sports on the cover of this month's Paste Magazine, well, it's going to be a little harder than driving to your local UO. Decked out in her trademark retro "Clueless meets Stevie Nicks" style, the California musician combines old and new on the front of the mag wearing a cat printed skirt with a hand-me-down oversized coat. Think the jacket looks familiar? Maybe you've spotted it in this adorable promo vid for Bethany's new collection, where she flaunts the piece and admits it's one of her favorite staples in her closet. The item was a birthday gift from her mother two years ago, and Bethany admits she "since then she's been really obsessed with varsity jackets."
Kristin Kreuk, Rachel Bilson, and Nina Dobrev at The CW's Uprfront event..

The real purpose of The CW's Upfront Presentation, held today in Los Angeles, is to give industry insiders the scoop on what's coming to their televisions next fall. But for small screen stars like Kristin Kreuk, Rachel Bilson, and Nina Dobrev, the event was their chance to shine-literally- in gorgeous champagne dresses. Former Smallville actress Kreuk, who returns to the channel next season in the new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, shimmered in a sequined tee and a floral print skirt. Despite the glittery top, she managed to keep the rest of the outfit's low-key girly vibe with nude peep-toe pumps, a statement gold bangle, and classic wavy hair. The whole look is very "J.Crew catalogue goes Hollywood," and we totally love it.
Kristen Stewart wears a BCBG Pre-Fall 2012 dress in Madrid.

Way to go, K.Stew! Our favorite jeans-and-tee wearing cool girl has officially grown up...fashion-wise, at least. Just within the last week, Kristen Stewart has already donned a see-through Marchesa gown at the London Snow White and the Huntsman premiere and gotten in touch with, uh, her manlier side for Elle magazine. Her latest style baby step was at the film's photo call in Madrid earlier today, where the star worked one of the season's biggest trends: the harness. She attached the black leather embellishment to her altered BCBG Pre-Fall dress (shortened from the runway version), giving the already-edgy frock a tough twist. Paired with a side braid (hello, Katniss Everdeen!) and barefaced beauty look, it's a high-fashion version of the actress we already know and love.
