Miley and Rihanna both sported Chanel's logo suspenders...but who looks best?

Given their super-nerdy connotation, suspenders aren't exactly the most obvious luxe designer piece to obsess over. But if there's anyone can make the Steve Urkel staple officially cool, it's Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. Together. We first spotted Ri working Chanel's white logo suspenders back in January on one of her seven (!!) Complex covers, giving the accessory her signature edgy twist with a camo print bra, oversized bottoms, and a hair bandanna. Now it's Miley's turn, and she's following suit with similar take on the black version. Paired with a white belly-baring top and black trousers (not to mention, an insane gold manicure), Miley's total proof that suspenders really do work IRL...it's all just a matter of how you style 'em.

azealia banks

Azealia Banks performs at the 2013 Life Ball.
Photo: Getty Images

Here's the thing about Azealia Banks: when she likes something, she really, REALLY likes it. Case in point? Her imitable mermaid steez, which has infiltrated into just about each and every aspect of the Harlem-bred rapper's persona. Her hair, her accessories, her mixtape name, her um, pasties....everything. And while that obsession with seapunk hasn't exactly died out, this weekend she paid homage to another one of her favorite fashion muses: the cat. Now, you might remember how almost exactly one year ago the MC channeled a feline at Prada's 2012 Met Gala party in full cat makeup. We're talking 3-D whiskers, black triangle nose, an extremely awesome cat eye (heh), the whole shebang. She even coordinated her handbags, sporting not one but TWO furry custom Prada kitten clutches in both white and black. That ensemble was definitely memorable enough on its own, but leave it to Azealia to one-up even herself this weekend.

Judging from all the awesome fashion moments that have happened thus far at Cannes, it's easy to see how this international film festival makes all those other movie events throughout the year look like, well, casual Friday. We're talking hot-off-the-runway, boundary-pushing ensembles, here, you guys! And sure, the 12-day stint is technically about the flicks, but nobody can deny the fact that all the stars in attendance are also serving up an equal helping of style. While the premieres themselves (Bling Ring! Gatsby!) are worth writing home about, leave it to last night's 20th Annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS fashion show to take this week's glamour to the NEXT LEVEL. The event read like a who's who list of the global fashion set, featuring top models and actresses alike decked out in seriously covetable designer pieces. And if you want our, ahem, totally un-biased opinion, House of Style hosts Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls were two of the best dressed ladies there.

Is Rita taking style cues from Willy W.?!
Photo: Splash News/ 'Willy Wonka' Facebook

Although Rita Ora might've claimed to be repping the new Smurfs movie with her (temporarily) blue hair earlier this week, there's NO fooling us here: the singer has now gone back to blonde, and she's got yet another style muse! Just like last time, the answer's obvious. When the pop star stepped out yesterday in a purple jacket, pants, and matching nails, there's NO denying the fact that she's paying homage to the ultimate candy man himself, Willy Wonka. We're not talking about Johnny Depp's 2005 incarnation, either. Nope, we're referring to the 1971 throwback Charlie and the Chocolate Factory version, starring Gene Wilder himself. Whether or not Rita realized it at the time, we're digging her bold, monochromatic plum look! Not to mention, the fact that Wonka just might be THE most creative fashion icon we're seen in a while...

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried's Fall 2013 Givenchy campaign has officially landed, and in her second turn as the face of the luxe brand, she's going moody, dark....and Disney?! We may have recently spotted the actress sporting a fedora in the fashion house's "Very Irresistible" perfume commercial just a few months ago, but this time the spokesmodel's taking cues from cartoon animals and gypsies alike in the new ads, which debuted today on WWD. Shot by photography duo Mert and Marcus Piggott, these brooding achromatic images show Amanda giving some MAJOR face in Givenchy's abstract graphic Bambi (yes, that Bambi!) t-shirt, matching clutch, and dark lipstick. It's a great look and a seriously dramatic departure for the star, who paired her double Givenchy ensembles with a nude lip and slick ponytail at the Met Gala earlier this month.

You guys. Summer is SO SOON we can practically taste it. But along with melty ice cream cones, longer days, and nonstop sunshine, here's one extra thing to get you pumped up for the season: Nasty Gal and Lazy Oaf's brand new, just-announced, sure-to-be-epic collab! Now, we realize we may toss around the word "favorite" a lot and make several high-flying proclamations around these parts of the internet, but please trust us when we say there are few labels that have quite as strong a hold on our closets (and wallets) as these guys. A Full Nelson, if you will. So when we get word that these two companies are teaming up on a '90s-inspired collection hitting stores this summer, you know it's gonna be awesome.

Kanye west

Kim Kardashian's Riccardo Tisci floral Met Gala dress reimagined for Kanye.
Photo: Getty Images

ATTN: EVERYONE! Mark your calendars for June 2, because some seriously important Kimye bizness is going down. Well, important if you've following this whole Kim Kardashian and Kanye West baby situation (which, let's be honest, it's kind of tough to hide from...). The official invite for Kim's baby shower has leaked, and according to TMZ, she's requesting that attendees wear "Garden Chic" attire. Hm...we never took Kim to be the gardening type, but perhaps she's still feeling the floral vibes after her Riccardo Tisci Met Gala gown? Or maybe she's just cashing in on one of the most consistent trends of the season ("Florals for spring? Groundbreaking."). Either way, we can't wait to see how all the guests interpret the theme, because you know it's going to be good. And pleasepleaseplease fingers crossed that Kanye shows! Sure, dudes making cameos at baby showers isn't always a thing— but hey, Wiz did it for Amber, so there's definitely hope that Yeezy comes decked out in his flowery best. In our wildest dreams, Riccardo Tisci would craft 'Ye a custom jacket splashed with Kim's Met Gala motif...but just in case that DOESN'T happen, we've rounded up some other garden party duds perfect for the occasion.

2 events, 2 different prints-on-prints outfits. Because Solange is awesome like that.
Photo: Getty Images

Solange's trademark patterned style may not have technically begun with *that* brick motif pantsuit (a quick Getty search shows she was test-driving the look long before that), but let's be real for a sec. Ever since the singer won us over with last fall's "Losing You" music video, her outfit choices reflect one seriously steadfast fashion philosophy: more prints are DEFINITELY merrier. From her Met Gala Suno gown to those matchy ladylike performance outfits, this is a star who's taken a very particular look and totally owned it. And now, proving just how versatile these wild patterns can really be, Solange has given us an extra dose of wardrobe inspiration with two very different twists on the trend.

Bradley Cooper in Gucci at 'The Hangover 3' premiere.
Photo: Getty Images

Bradley Cooper: the man can make a trash bag and Eagles jersey look almost as good as a Tom Ford three-piece suit. Not to MENTION those piercing blue eyes, that smile, and the extremely rare talent for pulling off the highly risky man bob. Yep, whenever we're lucky enough to see this guy hit the press circuit, you can bet it's going to be a really good day. Earlier this spring we feasted our eyeballs on the actor's classically dapper The Place Beyond The Pines red carpet outfits, and he's showing off a bolder, more daring side for The Hangover Part III. It makes total sense, right? Funny movie equals fun fashion. And taking this philosophy to heart, B.Coops turned up at last night's premiere in a seriously traffic-stopping burnt orange Gucci suit. Coordinating perfectly with his surroundings, it seems like someone's taking a page from One Direction's style book....
