When it comes to DRESSES that DOMINATE the red carpet (and we do mean ALL CAPS), the ultra-feminine label Marchesa is what the stylists (and style stars) choose to make a WOW statement. Chances are you've seen Marchesa designers Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman's voluminous confections atop your faves at many an awards show. This is the reason why their New York Fashion Week shows (or presentations as they've done in years past) are always attended by the loveliest of Hollywood butterflies. The Marchesa Spring 2012 runway show saw Emma Roberts, Mandy Moore, and Michelle Trachtenberg arm-in-arm as well as Jessica Szohr, Camilla Belle, and Selita Ebanks on the front row.

Ashley Greene in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1" and a Zac Posen Resort 2011 dress.

Anytime ANYTHING Breaking Dawn-related emerges, we must stop everything we're doing to concentrate fully on whatever new VAMPTASTICNESS (or WOLFMAZINGNESS, depending on what team you're rooting for) is at hand. We have to scrutinize, stare intensely, then rewatch it over and over again so as to imprint upon it and, hopefully, cause the movie to magically appear in its entirety before our very eyes. (Really, can Nov. 18 hurry up and get herrrre?) So, now that a NEW trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 has been released (and oh my CULLEN, is it GAHHHHMAZING), we had to fashion-focus on the wedding outfits—which we were only shown mere glimpses of—to see who was wearing what. Luckily, thanks to a Twitter tip-off from @courtjustice (MEGA SHOUT-OUT!), we didn't have to focus that intensely because her lazer-gaze sleuthing has uncovered the possibility that Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) might be wearing a Zac Posen bridesmaid dress! Let's BREAK this DAWN—we mean down—shall we?

Herve Leger By Max Azria Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

When ingenues want to pull out all the stops on the ol' red carpet, they usually opt for body-conscious Herve Leger. There's no better way to entice the paparazzi (or show off a three-hour training sesh!) than with one of the label's bandaged (bondaged?) shape-shifting dresses. They're so popular, in fact, that we see them EVERYWHERE now, whether they're the real thing or "inspired" knockoffs of the originals. For spring 2012, designer Max Azria focused on metallics, which were rendered beautifully, as well as light and dark hues and intricate details. Fans such as Ashlee Simpson, Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr, and LeAnn Rimes sat in the front row ogling dress after shiny dress—head-to-toe looks we can only assume they're imagining will one day be in their futures.

Beyonce Solange Knowles

In case you haven't heard by now (because, really, these words should have been broadcast intercom-style all over Manhattan) someone by the name of, oh, BEYONCÉ made her way through the New York Fashion Week tents today. Yes, Bey-Bey (of our hearts) arrived at the J. Crew presentation this morning looking positively aglow in champagne sequins, her arm around her sister and street-style CHAMPION, Solange Knowles, who looked equally resplendent in the breakout trend for spring 2012, bright pink. The two took in the brand's signature preppy classics, updated for spring in a neon array of color combos and polka-dot and heart-shaped patterns. There were some particularly gobsmacking accessories we wanted to nom-nom up right into our wardrobes immediately, too. Oh, and the multi-striped, sequined maxi skirt topped with a simple denim shirt? Come to Mama!

Jordin Sparks, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Kourtney Kardashian at the Alice + Olivia spring 2012 presentation.

We've FINALLY hit our stride and are smack DASH in the middle of New York Fashion Week. Thus, what better way to keep the festivities going than to attend a garden party—in the middle of a warehouse on 14th Street—and take in beaded confections with a handful of mini cupcakes (aka LUNCH and probably DINNER) in hand? Well, thanks to the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet presentation, we were not only treated to actual sustenance of the Sprinkles variety but also to a star-studded garden of dressed-up delights. Perched atop astroturf platforms and nestled between giant birdcages were all sorts of disco Gatsby wonders. Ms. Bendet covered several themes (and decades) for a collection of feminine looks that we predict will wind up on many a red carpet (and PROM!) next year. Upon arrival, we spied Kourtney Kardashian perusing a group of white dresses, particularly a black and white striped sequin dress that we think would look PERF on her. We also noticed Michelle Trachtenberg eyeing a black, beaded flapper number that we can imagine her Gossip Girl alter ego, Regina Sparks, wearing.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

It wouldn't be New York Fashion Week without wondering just what Marc Jacobs has up his heavily tattooed sleeve. In a whizz-bang fashion switcheroo, he moved his Marc by Marc Jacobs show earlier in the week and his signature collection later, for a reason people are still in a TIZZ-AY about. (Is he possibly taking over Dior? Is he leaving his signature line? Does he just want to change it up from time to time like any normal person is allowed to?) The Marc method—or, at least how we view his collections every Fashion Week—is to watch the big collection first then guess what the sister line, Marc by Marc, will look like. They almost always reference each other in some way—the luxe collection carrying the main theme (polka dots, pencil skirts, forest green, jungle cats, what have you) into the everyday line. But with the tables turned this year, we have no idea what to expect. If the Marc by Marc collection is any indication, though, the spring MJ gal is going to be stocking her wardrobe with colorful yet MINIMAL pieces (much like Elle Fanning, who arrived wearing a bold, fire-engine red shirt and matching shorts). Oh, yes, and she will also need bird prints, stripes, and a plastic sun visor (obvs).

Gia Coppola's Film "What's Up?" for Wren Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.

Goodness gracious, New York Fashion Week is still in FULL SWING, and we've got the under-eye party circles to prove it, thanks in part to last night's soiree at the new Mondrian Soho celebrating a new film collaboration for clothing label Wren and jewelry label Fallon directed by Gia Coppola (yes, of those Coppolas). Tucked in the back of the new luxe hotel, the soon-to-open lounge, Mr. H, was wall-to-rabbit-wall (seriously, there was a GI-NORMOUS painting of an Alice in Wonderland type bunny) with fashion folk eager to check out the short film entitled "What's Up?" shot by Coppola in sunny southern Cali. It was projected onto a curtain while Miss Tennessee Thomas (Rachel Antonoff for Bass Shoes model and drummer of The Like) DJ'd, spinning retro girl tunes from bands like The Shangri-Las.

DKNY Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

If there was any show that captured the spirit of today here in New York City, it had to be DKNY. Inspired by her daughter almost 22 years ago, Donna Karan's younger line continues to be a brand of choice for working gals all over The Big Apple (and beyond!), and the Spring 2012 show paid homage to the city and the girl, where it all began. Staged against a TRUE NYC backdrop of a sidewalk and yellow cab featuring a DKNY sign on top and pedestrians strolling by in the distance, the models strutted by in vibrant colors and hats the way most city girls do—with confidence.

Rag & Bone Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

So we've seen sporty silhouettes and mixed motocross looks zooming around during New York Fashion Week, and now thanks to Rag & Bone designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville we can add super cool, chilled out surfer girls to the mix! For their Spring 2012 collection, the masters of fine-tuned downtown basics infused their mix-n-match separates with heavy doses of mustard yellow, neon orange, and various shades of cyan from light sky to deep blue sea. What's more, they sent it all down a light bulb lit runway to a soundtrack tailor-made especially for the show by Radiohead frontman THOM YORKE. You wouldn't normally associate the two, but Yorke's choice of ambient sound with driving beats (and sci-fi clicks, clacks, and a spooky voice) amplified the modernity of the collection making you feel like you were at a super sophisticated, 90s-inspired warehouse rave.

Alicia Keys, Lea Michele, Courtney Love, and Zoe Kravitz attend Alexander Wang's Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week Show.
Photo: Getty Images

If there's any show at New York Fashion Week that the peeps clamor to get into, it's Alexander Wang. This year was no exception, either, as the enormous space at Pier 57 was packed wall-to-wall with chatter and the front row was heaving with MEGA-celebs like Alicia Keys and her husband, Swizz Beatz, (CUTE COUPLE ALERT), Lea Michele looking all Vogue-ified while striking a pose in electric blue heels, Courtney Love rocking some nude leather gloves, and Zoe Kravitz paying homage to Wang in her best dressed-down chic. The runway was more of a stage with huge rectangular mirrors positioned strategically so you could see the looks from all sides at all times. And zee clothes, you ask? Rev your engines because it was all about MOTOCROSS MANIA. Oh, and pockets. Lots and lots of POCKETS.
