When you're trying to look cute in nose-biting weather, you often have to get quite creative. Which is exactly what Kerry Washington did while hanging out in Park City, Utah for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, where her upcoming independent film The Details premiered. The actress was spotted wearing a Yeojin Bae sweater, Calvin Klein jeans, Coach boots, and an interesting Express gray pom-pommed scarf/capelet during a portrait session for the film on Jan. 25, her crew confirmed on Twitter. It appears that the knit can be worn around the neck as a scarf, or pulled down over shoulders (like Kerry did here) as a capelet (try the look yourself with this find). We're still trying to decide if this warming trend is cool or quirky. What do you think?

A handful of hot-dressed celebs, including Jessica Alba and Olivia Wilde, took a break from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week last night to honor Gucci's Frida Giannini (she's the creative director of the company...aka the head honcho) at a dinner hosted by former 'Vogue Paris' editor in chief Carine Roitfeld. It was a fashion love fest for sure, and these were the looks we fell for...

JESSICA ALBA: Jessica stole the spotlight in a sparkly silver Gucci dress with draping over one shoulder, which she wore with blush-colored heels and a metallic Gucci clutch.

OLIVIA WILDE: The Tron: Legacy star worked a color-block jumpsuit from Gucci's Spring 2011 collection. Olivia teamed the sexy number with a chunky gold necklace, royal purple clutch and a fierce pair of black sandals.

DIANE KRUGER: Being a Chanel muse didn't stop model-turned-actress Diane Kruger from stepping out in a KILLER embellished black and gold frock from Gucci's Spring 2011 collection.

GEMMA ARTERTON: Bond girl Gemma Arterton, chose a more casual ensemble, but the pocketed Gucci dress was none the less chic...especially with those AMAZING nude peep toes!

Alexa Chung on Jan. 24, 2011, Michelle Williams on Jan. 16, 2011, and Bonnie Wright on Dec. 3, 2010.

Spring has sprung (a little early, but who cares!), courtesy of Alexa Chung, Michelle Williams and Bonnie Wright, who all recently stepped out in '70s-inspired Flower Child frocks. Alexa Chung arrived at the Paris Etam Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show on Jan. 24 in a vintage-y mid-length polka dot dress with a large orange and white flower print, which she teamed with a skinny belt and chunky YSL platforms. Even though Blue Valentine star Michelle Williams got some flack for the daisy-covered Valentino gown she wore to the 2011 Golden Globes on Jan. 16, we totally get where she was trying to go—Age of Aquarius, baby! Meanwhile, Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright wore a Miu Miu star and floral print dress to a Miu Miu store launch dinner in London on Dec. 3. The turquoise Prada sandals she added gave the ensemble a luxe boho look. If flowers are your thing, there's no better time than now (in the dead of winter) to wear them—every time you look in a mirror you'll be reminded of what you have to look forward to.

E! Fashion Police cohost Kelly Osbourne is the new face of Madonna’s and her daughter Lourdes' Material Girl clothing line, replacing Gossip Girl/The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen. Do you see the style resemblance? Yeah, we don't either. Sure, they both love fashion, but what they call cool is completely different. Just check out the glaring differences between the celebs' most recent ensembles. Kelly's look is feminine chic with a dose of Old Hollywood glamour thrown in for good measure. Meanwhile, Taylor gravitates toward fishnets and kohl eyeliner, for a personal style that screams rock star grunge/trashy chic/"And...WHAT?!". Our guess is that Madonna and Lourdes wanted more yin and less yang going forward with their fashion line. But, don't cry for Ms. Momsen—she's still got John Galliano.

Emily Blunt at the 'Gnomeo & Juliet' premiere in Hollywood on Jan. 23.
Photo: Getty Images

What to call the hairstyle actress Emily Blunt wore to the Gnomeo & Juliet premiere (Emily plays the voice of Juliet) in Hollywood on Jan. 23? A French braid? A twisted updo? We weren't quite sure. But, we knew we wanted to figure out how to re-create the supercute, intricate 'do asap. According to international stylist Sherri Jessee, this style is technically called an "outside French braid chignon." Well, at least someone knows.

RUSK Radical Creme.

STEP 1: Start off with the correct texture to hold the braid in place. You can either work with "next day hair," or to create that workable texture on clean hair, evenly distribute a small amount of a thickening creme like RUSK Radical Creme ($13, through the hair and rough dry with a blow-dryer.

STEP 2: Begin with a soft side part at the front of the head. The key here is to grasp the hair you add into the braid only from the bottom side and follow the curvature of the head as you work your way down for good placement. When you get to the end of the braid, tie it off with a tiny clear elastic. Next, create a similar braid on the opposite side.

STEP 3: Twist the ends of both braids together and tuck under, securing with a few bobby pins. "This look features soft, loose texture," says Jessee. "If your braids aren't perfect, you've done it right!"

The Upper East Siders are back from winter break—with their scheming antics, designer clothes, and all! Gossip Girl's 12th episode of season four, "The Kids Are Not Alright," premiered last night, centering around Blair Waldorf's (Leighton Meester) search for an internship (she finally realizes fashion editorial is her forte), and equally important, the fall/rise/fall of Bass industries. A former associate of Chuck's dad, businessman Russell Thorpe (Michael Boatman)—along with his well-dressed daughter/biz partner, Raina Thorpe (Tika Sumpter)—entered the picture, vowing to buy the flailing company. We have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of this duo. Meanwhile, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Serena Van Der Woodsen (Blake Lively) join forces against Lily to make her pay for forging Serena's signature on an affidavit that wrongfully sent her ex-high school teacher to prison. Drama, drama, drama. But with it came some hot ensembles. We loved all of the winter toppers, like Serena' plaid Burberry coat and her belted Mike Gonzales overcoat. But our favorite look was newbie Raina Thorpe's ruched bandage dress. What do you think?

Willow Smith at the music video shoot for "21st Century Girl," on Jan. 22 in California.
Photo: Fame Pictures

Willow Smith, the 10-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, is at it again. The pint-size performer shot her second music video on Jan. 22 in Los Angeles. While there was slightly less hair whipping on the set of "21st Century Girl" than in her first video shoot, for "Whip My Hair," there were layers and layers of brightly colored clothes to ooh and ahh over—which is exactly what we did. Willow piled the style on thick, wearing multiple boot chains, socks, skirts, and necklaces in one look. But our fave item? The "Boys Need Training" tee Willow wore with a cream-colored puff shoulder bolero, leopard tights, yellow shorts and yellow boots. Boys need training, huh? This girl is so wise beyond her years.

Serena, Chuck, and Blair lookalikes model 'Gossip Girl' looks for less.

So, you dig some ALL of the ensembles you see on Gossip Girl (psst, it returns tonight!), but you're not ready to drop a grand or two on a pair of leggings like the fictional Upper East Siders do? Well, you're in luck because on today's The Seven, hosts Julia Alexandria and Kevin Manno interview Gossip Girl's stylist Eric Daman for deets on cribbing the style of Blair Waldorf, Serena Van Der Woodsen, and Chuck Bass...without breaking the bank.

BLAIR WALDORF: Blair tends to rock print dresses, like this polka dot bubble frock, and then accessorizes like crazy. But, her trick is to keep the main accessories—tights, bag, shoes, blazer—monochromatic (i.e. all black everything).

Blair's 'Gossip Girl' look for less.

+ Jacket: Lacy Hem Blazer by Charlotte Russe ($39.50,
+ Dress: Eric Daman for Charlotte Russe ($44.50,
+ Tights: Polka Dot Crochet Tight in Black by Charlotte Russe ($7.50,
+ Shoes: Escher Peep Toe Pump in Black Suede by Nine West ($79.99,
+ Bag: Gamma Lace Clutch by Nine West ($49.00,
+ Necklace: Pearl Bead Cluster Necklace by Charlotte Russe ($10.50,
+ Ring: Ring by Lia Sophia ($128,

SERENA VAN DER WOODSEN: She may be Upper East Side born and bred, but Serena clearly infuses a dose of downtown funk into her wardrobe. To adopt her style, start with leggings or super skinny jeans and boots. Add to that a billowing top, a handful of necklaces and an oversize shopper bag (always a standout bag!).

Serena's 'Gossip Girl' look for less.

+ Shrug: Chain Link Trim 3D Piece by Charlotte Russe ($29.50,
+ Shirt: Tank by Charlotte Russe ($19.50,
+ Pants: Acid Wash Skinny Jeans in Olive by Forever 21 ($22.80,
+ Shoes: Slouchy Vamp High Heel Boot in Brown by Charlotte Russe ($35.50,
+ Bag: Paisley Studded Shopper by Nine West ($79.00,
+ Necklace: Coin necklace by Lia Sophia ($68,
+ Necklace: Gold leaf necklace by Lia Sophia ($82,
+ Bracelet: Bracelet by Lia Sophia ($180,
+ Ring: Ring by Lia Sophia ($110,

CHUCK BASS: Essentially, it's all about the pocket square when it comes to stealing Chuck's debonnaire vibe. Slick trousers (with front creases), a perfect-fit blazer, and a patterned tie help too. But, remember...pocket square!

Chuck's 'Gossip Girl' look for less.

+ Jacket: Blazer by Zara Man ($189,
+ Pants: Trousers by Zara Man ($89.50,
+ Shirt: Shirt by H&M ($39.95,
+ Shoes: Oxfords by Zara Man ($99.90,

While press touring across the pond, Nicki Minaj introduced her British fans to her latest album, "Pink Friday," plus a handful of new wild-and-crazy 'dos. No longer are Nicki's strands simply dipped in bright hues, or acid washed then dyed purple/yellow/orange/green/etc. For better or worse, she's started playing around with shapes, sizes, cuts, and patterns, too.

Pink Presario
Oustide of her London hotel, Nicki was spotted in an over-the-top pink jumpsuit, bracelet-size purple hoop earrings, and this cotton candy-colored curly beehive.

Blonde Bombshell
Nicki teamed a heavy-banged platinum 'do with a heavy set of faux lashes. The cascade of curls gave this look serious Barbie Doll status.

Camouflage Fringe
We couldn't quite tell if Nicki was going for a camo look or a colorful leopard look with this style, which she wore with a crisp white dress and a statement-making gold necklace.

+ You've seen the latest, so which new 'do should Nicki Minaj put on repeat?

Kate Bosworth at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival premiere for "Another Happy Day" on Jan. 23 in Park City, Utah; Leighton Meester at a special screening for "The Roomate" on Jan. 23 in West Hollywood.
Photo: Getty Images/WireImage

Both Kate Bosworth and Leighton Meester donned sleeveless tummy-slashed, half-leather dresses to movie screenings over the weekend. Kate played peekaboo with her mid-drift in a knee-length Chloe dress, which she wore to the Another Happy Day screening at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. To combat the chilly temps in the ski town, she teamed the frock with black tights and Isabel Marant ankle strap heels. Meanwhile, Leighton Meester looked phenomenal in a black chiffon Michael Kors jersey dress (also with a leather cut-out at the waist), which she wore to the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, The Roommate. Both stars rocked the biker-chic look (can't you just picture either of them strapping on a helmet and hopping on a Harley Davidson?), but we are impartial to Leighton's ensemble—her choice to straighten her strands and to go sans jewelry helped take her look over the edge (in a good way). But, what do you think?

+ Who wore their cut-out dress best—Kate Bosworth or Leighton Meester?
