Miley Cyrus performing at the World Music Awards.

While we've become accustomed to seeing Miley Cyrus in leotards and sequins, we love to see her sophisticated side step forward every so often. Remember the gorgeous vintage Jean Paul Gaultier dress she wore the the Bambi Awards last year? That's what we're talking about. Welp, we got our wish (again)! At the 2014 World Music Awards last night, our girl covered up and glammed out in two different gowns—and she looked better than ever.
Miley wore a strapless Giambattista Valli dress to perform her hit "Wrecking Ball." She looked SO ethereal and ladylike in the floral-print frock, we can hardly even remember the song's completely nude music video (JK, #neverforget).
Let's commemorate this event the right way.

How are y'all handling this weekend? No, I'm not talking about Memorial Day sales and barbecues. I'm talking about THE KIMYE WEDDING! We can't remember any nuptials drawing this much attention since Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot back in 2011. Let's face it—Kim and Kanye's big day is about as close to a royal wedding as Americans will ever get and it can't be a ~true~ royal wedding without official commemorative plates. While there are no plates out yet, we had to crack Photoshop open to scratch this itch. So while you can't buy these yet (though, Home Shopping Network, give us a call!), we can still all bask in their JPEG glory together.
Iggy Azalea is mad for plaid, y'all. She kicked it off with her Clueless-inspired "Fancy" video (although she wore the pattern several times before then), and we've been tracking her recent preppy tendencies ever since. More specifically, Iggy has built upon the Cher Horowitz yellow plaid look in several of her live performances, and she debuted a new version of the ensemble on Dancing With the Stars last night—an adorably retro prom dress.
Jennifer Lawrence at Cannes.

When Jennifer Lawrence wore a Jason Wu dress to the X-Men: Days of Future Past world premiere, we were all pretty shocked. It was the first time we had seen her wear something other than Christian Dior on the red carpet in a reeeeeeally long time. J-Law must have felt the need to make up for lost time with the French fashion behemoth, because the actress wore four different Dior outfits IN ONE DAY at the Cannes Film Festival this past Saturday.
If you think M.I.A. couldn't possibly get any more outrageous, you clearly haven't seen her new "Double Bubble Trouble" music video yet. The psychedelic, politically-charged vid imagines a disturbing future where teens make guns on 3D MakerBot printers and dance under LED drones (and, worst of all, take selfies ALL day long). M.I.A. directed the video herself, and you can definitely feel the homemade realness amidst the trippy strobe light effects.
There are tons of blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments in the three minute and 26 second production (oh hai, 1984 references), so we went ahead and captured the coolest style tidbits that deserve some serious appreciation.
A still from M.I.A.'s 'Double Bubble Trouble' music video.

M.I.A. wears an alphabet-print Moschino (circa 1990s) jacket + pants for about half of the video. Pairing the outfit with bright orange socks is a particularly nice touch.
Shailene Woodley for 'InStyle.'
Photo: InStyle magazine
Shailene Woodley looks like your slightly-above-average girl next door on the cover of InStyle's June 2014 issue—flouncy floral dress, cute orange nail polish, etc. But once you open the magazine and peep the inside spread, things get a little more free-spirited and wild (much like Shailene herself!). Miss Woodley ditches her mainstream springtime look for a bolder wardrobe and—wait for it—a soaking wet mullet.
Miley Cyrus and Wayne Coyne performing 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' together.

A few days ago, Miley Cyrus posted a picture on Instagram of her feet covered with sequins and the words "Dirty Hippy" with absolutely no context. We just assumed she was up to one of her typically crazy antics (it would rank among Miley's tamer moves, TBH). But after watching Miley and the Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne perform "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" at tonight's Billboard Awards, those glammed up toesies make a lot more sense.
Amber Rose at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

Spoiler alert: Amber Rose totally stole the red carpet thunder at the Billboard Music Awards. While she pretty much always turns heads with her fashion choices, she went above and beyond with tonight's ensemble—namely her HUGE sunglasses. And by huge, I mean they literally cover half of her face.
When we saw the Queen of Hangout Festival and her gargantuan shades (which came from Pharrell's Moncler collaboration, NBD), we appropriately freaked out. Twitter was right there with us—it wouldn't be an awards show without a Twitter freakout, right? Check out some of our favorite observations:
Who wears short shorts? Guys do, apparently. According to the Wall Street Journal, inseams in men's shorts have shrunk down to a measly FIVE inches—10 inches shorter than what dudes wore a few years ago. That's a lot of manly thigh action, my friends.
We've definitely noticed this skin-baring trend rising in the ranks lately, and you know what? We are SO not complaining. Baggy, low-hanging shorts certainly have their place (the gym...or the '90s), but higher hemlines make for a much cleaner and preppier look. Just ask Chuck Bass. Or any tennis player ever.
Bella Thorne on the cover of 'Seventeen.'
Photo: Seventeen Magazine
We still have over a month until summertime *officially* starts, but Bella Thorne is making us want to have a beach day, like, TODAY. In the latest issue of Seventeen magazine, Bella looks sunkissed and gorgeous in her seaside photo shoot, and we can't help wishing we could join her...even if the ocean water is still about 30 degrees.
For her cover photo, Bella wears a colorful striped bikini and cropped palm-print sweatshirt—so maybe she's aware of the too-cool-for-sunbathing temperatures, too? That bright color scheme continues throughout the inside spread, with Bella rocking everything from a cobalt-blue crop top to a lime-green monokini.
