Dudes, the Fourth of July is only a few days away, and if you're a procrastinator (like us!), you probably haven't solidified your all-American ensemble just yet. Luckily, if you have a pair of blue jeans and, um, hands, you're halfway there! We rounded up some red, white and blue nautical manicures that'll be PERFECT come Thursday, no matter what you wear. Sure, you can do the same ol' American flag steez, but we thought a set of throwback sailor-inspired nails would be a cooler (and less obvious) way to celebrate the big day. We found 9 designs that vary in difficulty and include everything from stripes and polka dots to ropes and anchors. Peep the manis below and get painting!
Nicki Minaj at the 2013 BET Awards in L.A. on June 30.

If there's one person that took over tonight's BET Awards, it definitely had to be Ms. Nicki Minaj. Sure, she might've skipped the red carpet, but she managed to switch up her ensemble three (!!!) times during the show. Her first outfit was a decked OUT bustier complete with rhinestones, zipper detailing and a garter belt. She paired this strapless top with simple black skinnies, pointy silver pumps, and bright red stiletto nails. She managed to keep the same, sleek platinum bob throughout each outfit change, which we LOVE.

OK, y'all can just get down on your knees and bow down right now—Mariah Carey straight-up KILLED. IT. at tonight's BET Awards. We were a little skeptical when we didn't spot her on the red carpet, but she made up for it tenfold when she appeared onstage in a head-to-toe sparkling silver ensemble. She wore a short, white strapless frock with a fishnet sheath covered with intricate brocade detailing. She accessorized with stacked diamond bracelets, INSANE diamond earrings, pointy silver pumps, and, yes, even a bedazzled microphone. #DIVASTATUS
Mindless Behavior at the 2013 BET Awards in L.A. on June 30.

The 2013 BET Awards are officially underway, and we NEED to discuss all the fashions that are going down at this very moment—mostly with Mindless Behavior. Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray, Roc Royal decided to all wear the EXACT same black and white cross-printed pants, but styled it in four individual ways. Roc Royal went for a simple black tee and gold chains look while Prodigy dressed it up with a leather sleeve sweater and aviator sunglasses. Ray Ray sported his signature double braids with a metallic Boy London shirt and goggles while Princeton wore a printed tee with a diamond gold chain and clear plastic sunglasses. #WERK
Demi Lovato performing on 'Good Morning America' on June 28 and in her behind-the-scenes video.

Demi Lovato is getting in the patriotic spirit, y'all! Today she released a behind-the-scenes video for her Made in the USA music video and performed the single on Good Morning America. Oddly enough, she wore almost the same outfit in both instances. She ditched her typically edgy, all-black ensembles for a blonde-haired, all-American look, and we can barely handle it! I mean, this is such a far cry from her fierce Heart Attack music video ensembles, which involved a serious smoky eye and tons of metal hardware. Today's performance outfit consisted of layered white dress with a distressed denim vest, brown belt, layered necklaces, tons of turquoise hand jewelry and—the kicker—cowboy boots!
In the rare instance that you don't follow Joe Jonas on Twitter/Instagram/Vine/every form of social media ever, he's visiting Africa right now—specifically, Kenya. And, to be honest, it looks like he's having a GRAND ol' time. He's hanging with a new friend named Wilson, and together they watch breath-taking sunsets, stroll with herds of elephants, and, apparently, drink some brewskies (above). During his week-long adventure he also decided to ditch his typical button-up and jeans look for traditional Maasai clothing, and we are weirdly mom-proud about it. :')
All the 'Seinfeld' swag you'd ever need.

So, we've been doing this Stan Swag thing for a little while now, and, sure, we can talk ALL DAY about the endless amounts of Selena and Justin merch that's out there, but you know what? We think it's time for a serious throwback shopping sesh. The first thing that came to mind? Seinfeld. It could be all those giant posters plastered in the subway or
Elaine Julia Louis-Dreyfus' face in those Veep ads, but we can't seem to get the hilarious '90s sitcom out of our heads. And for that, we're going to find some killer merch to show off our fandom—even after all these years.
Rihanna in Europe.
We've gone nearly a week without discussing Rihanna's on-point wardrobe, which is basically a RECORD for us here at MTV Style. But, thanks to the singer being spotted all over Europe the week, we've gotten to peep her very interesting street style as of late, and we need to discuss. When it comes to Rihanna's headwear, we're typically used to seeing her in backward snapbacks or sporting a tied headscarf in her hair, but lately she's ditched both her signature looks for some totally fresh gear—all by the same designer. You might've noticed Rihanna using the #silverspoonattire hashtag on her Instagram, and as it turns out, that's the name of the shop where she's purchasing all her badass threads! She's been spotted in this brand before (remember that baroque beanie?), but it looks like the music-obsessed brand just revamped their entire site to release even more totally killer accessories.
Our Big Bang boys are at it again! The insanely fashion-forward K-pop group has always had a heavy hand in the fashion world (see: their custom Hermes jackets, collab with Nicola Formichetti, and INSANE Vogue Korea spread), but now we can FINALLY swipe up duds created by the infamous boy band. Big Bang's frontman G-Dragon hooked up with Tokyo-based clothing company Ambush on a 5-piece capsule collection that we're ob-SESSED with. He created all black and gold pieces that'll be sure to amp up any outfit in an instant.
Lydia and Stiles.
If you're a die-hard Teen Wolf fan like us, you've spent nearly three seasons staring at Stiles' wacky tees, Lydia's on-point heels, and Allison's bohemian-chic frocks. But you know what? We. Want. More. We're sure you'll agree that sometimes just staring at the clothes just isn't enough. Like, we want to hear ALL the deets behind their on-screen ensembles. Lucky for you (and us!), we got a chance to catch up with the costume designer, Barbara Vazquez, who dished on the ins and outs of working with such an amazing (and seriously fashionable) crew. Check out the full interview below!
MTV STYLE: Thanks so much for talking with us! Tell us how you got hooked up with this amazing gig.
Barbara Vazquez: I worked under a costume designer named Keith Lewis for many, many years and then branched out on my own. I was with Tyler Perry for six years when he first started in the business, and I was Burt Reynolds’ personal dresser for a while. When they approached me with Teen Wolf, I was really interested because of Jeff Davis, the creator of Criminal Minds, and I’m a huge fan of his work. Then I met the cast and fell head-over-heels in love with them and knew that I needed to stay on this show because we are a very close-knit family. The cast and crew on this show, in 12-13 years, I’ve never seen anything like it; the dynamic from the people that work on this show. So it’s really nice to have that.
