Miley Cyrus Maxim

Miley Cyrus scores #1 on 'Maxim' Hot 100 list.

Let's all give it up for Miley Cyrus, you guys! In between fanning Met Ball rumors and nabbing consecutive covers for ELLE UK and V magazines last week, the singer has managed to land herself the coveted #1 spot on Maxim's Hot 100 list! Seriously, though, this is NO easy task. Each year the men's publication pits hotties from the music, film, and fashion worlds against each other, and this time around, Miley (and her Smilers, obviously) stole 2012's crown right out from under model Bar Rafaeli. Not that this pop star really needs to prove her hotness, or anything. I mean, can we all talk about this photo above?! Posted over the weekend, the image shows her channeling a Bond girl bombshell in a metallic gold swimsuit, tons of glimmering jewelry, and sultry, straight-on gaze. She may have been #68 on the list just last year, but Miley's come a long way since then... that's for sure.

met gala 2013

Guess who's taking these celebs to the 2013 Met Gala?!
Photo: Getty Images

Considering the time of year, the prep work, and the formality of it all, it's not really that surprising that people refer to the annual Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum as the fashion world's version of prom. While both events have a theme (we hear this year's, "Punk: Chaos to Couture," is, uh, causing attendees some wardrobe struggles), let's be real— the high concentration of really talented, really famous, and really good looking people walking those Met steps on Monday night ensures that you won't get THIS party confused with your average school dance. We already told you about how you can get in on the action from home, whether it's buying "Chaos and Couture"-inspired clothing or splurging on the celebs' dresses themselves, but what we really want to know is, who's taking who?! There might not be adorable promposals this time around, but many of the designers HAVE picked their celebrity dates for the night. Not surprisingly, Dior is bringing the brand's new face and recently crowned Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence to the fete.

It's no secret that Emmy Rossum rules the small screen each week as Fiona Gallagher on Showtime's comedy Shameless (if you haven't seen it yet, start watching now!). However, if you've been lucky enough to catch the actress belting it out in flicks like Phantom of the Opera, then you know that she's also got a MAJOR set of musical pipes. And trust us when we say her vocal talent isn't just movie magic, either. Emmy's a classically trained singer, and her new album Sentimental Journey comes stocked with unique covers of classic songs spanning from the 1920s all the way to the '60s. Yep, what's old is officially new again, and a music project like this one calls for an equally retro music video look. Whether it's raiding flea markets or using old costumes from the eras to give the vids like "These Foolish Things" an authentic appeal, Emmy's a total vintage fashion PRO.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne is Miss 'Vogue''s first cover girl!
Photo: Via British 'Vogue'

The secret's out, y'all! British Vogue officially has a cool little sister in the newly-launched Miss Vogue magazine. And let's be honest—who better to front the glossy's debut issue than Cara Delevingne? After some Twitter teasers this week about the mystery cover girl, today is the day we can finally feast our eyes on Cara in ALL her pretty, pink glory. The notorious industry goofball, onesie queen, and 2012's Model of the Year is smiling wide in bold red lipstick and dressed in a custom Topshop Unique ensemble. The 20-year-old has been a longtime favorite of the U.K. retail giant, walking in the Fall/Winter runway show as well as being a key player in the brand's tech-savvy catwalk production. While Topshop's boundary-pushing goods are nothing new, here Cara's throwing back to the ultimate middle school style trick by layering her sequined cami over the basic gray crewneck (remember those days?!).

Some of the rad stuff that we can (finally!) score, thanks to Hukkster

Earlier this week Time Inc. released its Top 10 Startups to Watch in 2013 List, and we've got to admit: between all the key players in tech and social media these days, the fashion world was disappointingly underrepresented. But alongside emerging businesses such as Grouper and ArchetypeMe, ONE glimmery style startup managed to snag a spot on the coveted list. Meet Hukkster, the new platform aimed to change the way we shop online. But before you go tightening your grasp on your wallet and clutching your credit card with the jaws of life, hold up! Ironically enough, Hukkster's not about making you splurge more—at least, not technically—it's actually about helping you score the pieces you love for less.

Rita Ora wore a UNIF clear jacket at Coachella.
Photo: Splash/Nasty Gal

We're not the only ones feeling the spring fever vibes around here, you guys. Leave it to Rita Ora to get a major head start on some KEY warm weather trends this month, from rocking that old-meets-new version of the gladiator boot to strutting her stuff in a basketball jersey dress. Now the pop star's bringing yet another unexpected piece smack dab onto everyone's radar: the clear jacket. We spotted the singer traipsing around the Coachella festival grounds several weeks ago, repping her trademark tomboy style (and uh, showing off her rock hard abs) in a graphic Carven skirt, fresh white Supergas, a HUF hat, and, the piece de resistance, her see-through moto jacket. Remember when Lady Gaga hopped on the transparent clothing fad early in her plastic frock at the 2010 EMA?! Well, Rita's version definitely a more wearable option for everyone who isn't brave enough to wear nipple stickers IRL. In other words, most of us...?

BAPE debuts 20th anniversary t-shirts designed by 20 creative figures, including Pharrell.
Photo: Courtesy of A Bathing Ape.

Earlier this month we spilled the exciting news that streetwear label A Bathing Ape was teaming up with some of our favorite creative types— 20 of them, in fact!— on a special edition collection of tees and artwork to ring in the brand's 20th anniversary. And sure, we all know that BAPE is no stranger to rad partnerships, but an epic celebration like this one means the roster of collaborators is NEXT LEVEL awesome. We're talking about everyone from music heavyweights like Kanye West and Pharrell, to artists like Futura and Stash, to fashion players like Jun Takahashi and Daisuke Obana. Each of these highly diverse (but equally cool) style setters have all placed their signature stamp on the new crop of not-so-basic white crewnecks.

Behold, Miley Cyrus' second 'ELLE' UK cover.
Photo: Courtesy of @MileyCyrus Twitter

We thought it couldn't get much better than Miley Cyrus' killer ELLE UK cover, which dropped last week and shows the singer giving major face in a Lanvin blazer (and not much else). But you guys, it just did! A second cover circulated over the weekend, courtesy of her very own Twitter, and proves what we've always known— it's impossible to have too much Miley in our lives. The pop star blasted the black and white image out online to her nearly 12 million followers on Friday with the caption, "@ELLEUK sometimes covers are hard to pick. Guess well just go with 2 covers! #2isbetterthan1." That's for sure. Featuring a nude Miley with her eyes closed, Saint Laurent necklace held to her lips, this achromatic portrait is a definite contrast to the in-your-face fierceness of the first. The photo might be minimalist, but nobody can deny it's JUST as dramatic.

Well, there's no denying it. Overalls are BACK! And these denim dungarees haven't only returned in full force, they've become a major fashion trend, popping up on the runways at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Agnes B, and Jason Wu, as well as on celebs like the current overall MVP, Alexa Chung. Before you roll your eyes at us, like, "Duh, Alexa Chung can wear ANYTHING and look good," hold up— we were skeptical at first, too. But after doing some seriously in-depth research (otherwise known as cruising our favorite online stores and stalking their selection), we've realized that overalls are actually way easier to pull off than they appear. You don't necessarily HAVE to go full-on farmer status, channel *NSync, or even rock flashy leather to get in on the look...there are tons of ways to reach a happy medium with style secrets like classic black, '70s silhouettes, or even prints. See the long and short of it here!

GO LONG

Denim dungarees get a cool new update.
Photo: Need Supply/Pixie Market/Free People

Overalls were originally designed for blue collar workers way back in 19th century, thanks to their durable fabric and functional cut. Needless to say, these onesies have come a long, long way since their humble beginnings on the farms and in factories. This gorgeous image of Kate Moss sporting hers should be reason enough to give this trend a spin; but if that's not enough to convince you of their long-staying '90s popularity, these basic blues also made pit stops throughout the decade on stars like TLC, Destiny's Child, and even the Olsens. Despite the fact that Man Repeller has given them her seal of approval, ironically enough, the 21st century iteration of the look has a decidedly flattering appeal. Think Jane Birkin-inspired trousers, sleek colorways, and a slimmer leg. OR you could always go the Rihanna for River Island route with two-toned separates...

Miley Cyrus covers June 'ELLE' UK.
Photo: Courtesy of 'ELLE' UK.

It's official: the fashion world is infected with Miley Cyrus fever, and by the looks of it, this condition is highly contagious. But wait a second, that's a good thing! The singer is everywhere these days, whether she's twerking it in a unicorn onesie or glamming it up in...another onesie? Well, OK. *shrugs* Regardless of what she's wearing or who she's collab-ing with, we all know that Miley's got it (whatever "it" is). And now she's ushering in her highly anticipated new sound, new look, and new 'tude with yet another magazine cover! This time she's showing her style stuff for ELLE UK, trading her signature jumpers for a slick silk vest (unbuttoned to the stomach, natch) by Lanvin and a gold pendant by Saint Laurent. These straight-from-the-runway wares come topped off with a purple smoky eye, her trademark tats, and a sultry "come hither" swagger...if THIS cover doesn't send tons of panting fans to the newsstands, like, now, then sorry, we don't know what will.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
