Check Out Lucy Hale As A Rainbow Unicorn And Other Celeb Halloween Costumes

Having Halloween on a Wednesday means that the holiday festivities have the potential to stretch out over an entire week. Not only does this mean candy, candy, and MORE candy, but it also means that you have the opportunity for not just one but many costumes. You may have rocked your showstopping Halloween look on Friday or Saturday past, but there is still ACTUAL Halloween to worry about. If you need some inspiration, celebs are a great place to look for costume ideas. We especially loved Lucy Hale's technicolor unicorn costume, complete with horn, rainbow mane and furry boots. This look is part "My Little Pony" and party candy raver, and avoids the "sexy" costume cliche by virtue of being so totally over the top. Lucy is committed, and we're into it.

Go Halloween Shopping With Victoria Justice

In her new movie Fun Size, Victoria Justice plays a girl forced to babysit her brother on Halloween instead of going to the coolest party, where she was, of course, invited by the cutest guy. In an adorable Dorothy costume, Victoria and her brother get into all kinds of spooky holiday hijinx and hilarity ensues. MTV News' Christina Garibaldi took Justice shopping for Halloween costumes, and in the video that you can watch below, you'll see that the star is 100% in the Halloween spirit. Between a unicorn mask, feather boa, and some really hair-raising werewolf gloves, the actress puts together a look that might not be winning any costume contests, but is certainly hilarious. The fact that the launch event for the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collaboration last night was beyond A-list (A+ List?) comes as no surprise. Immortalized in lyrics of hip-hop songs by Jay-Z and Kanye, worn by the most discerning celebs, and always on the cutting edge, the fashion house was, until now, about as lux and rarefied as it could get. This is why, when rumors were swirling that Margiela would be joining forces with H&M on a collaboration, we held our breath in disbelief. It was true, though, and your opportunity to cop it for yourself is quickly approaching. The likes of Kanye West, The Man Repeller's Leandra Medine, DJ Mia Moretti and many more turned out in New York city for the launch, some even transforming into real-life models of the new collection. Sidebar: our own House of Style host Joan Smalls turned out for the event, right after her live Twitter interview with Karlie Kloss and the Wall Street Journal! Prabal Gurung For Target: First Look!

Here's the thing about designer capsule collections: you have to be committed. At this point, it's a given that if you want to pay retail for items sold in one of Target (or H&M's) designer collaborations, you're either going to have lightning fast internet and a whip-quick clicking finger, or be willing to brave insane shoppers and even more insane lines at a retail location. Otherwise, you'll quickly find that the items you've been lusting after since the collab images were released are going for 10 times their original price on Ebay. There are some collections that are just too good to be ignored, though, and Prabal Gurung for Target is one of them. The designer, who has been called "this generations Oscar De La Renta" and has created jaw dropping red carpet looks for the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, awesome nail strips with Sally Hansen, not to mention consistently cutting edge runway collections year in and year out. His collection, which is inspired by "a girl’s journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone—from the first date to meeting the parents to the engagement," Gurung told Target for their official press release, and pieces are priced from $12.99 to $199.99. It will be in stores February 9th.

Le1f Talks Style Evolution, Fashion Ambitions, And Defining 'Banjee'

Last night, in the greenroom of Webster Hall, New York City born-and-bred rapper Le1f suggests we go off into a corner, to what appears to be a closet, to do our interview. The dirty concrete room has a long bench upholstered in a dirty plaid and a thick armchair that looks like it would emit a cartoon puff of grime if you sat in it. Le1f sits on the bench and gestures to the chair in his sweet, raised-right way, "you take the nice chair," he says, but I opt for the bench beside him, fearing bedbugs and that the noise from the room beside us, where rapper Killer Mike is preparing to open MTV Hive's CMJ showcase, will impede my recording. Le1f is tall and handsome in a pair of maroon harem pants and navy bomber jacket, and he speaks in such a way that seems giggly and bashful, but in that somehow pointedly self-assured. After his breakout video, "Wut" made him an overnight sensation, both in the music press and in the fashion world, Le1f has been all over the place, playing shows, performing at New York Fashion Week (MTV Style caught up with him when he performed for Asher Levine), and appearing in media from Pitchfork to Gawker to Artinfo, who labeled him one of the new poster boys for so-called "gay rap." Le1f is certainly not afraid to make his sexual orientation known, although the label can be reductive as far as the actual music is concerned, so needless to say he's on the rise. We sat down with Le1f to discuss everything from his influences—musical and sartorial—and the possibility of a fashion collaboration between himself and Greedhead label founder and Das Racist member Himanshu Suri, something that we're crossing our fingers will actually happen (please, please). Katy Perry Is Right On Trend In Her Denim Jacket With Sweater Sleeves, And You Can Get The Look!

We may spend a lot of time talking about Katy Perry's performance and red carpet style, but don't think we don't know that the singer has some killer street style game as well. She may be a fan of outrageous hair and killer nails, but Katy also goes casual sometimes, but she's always totally on trend. Most recently we've seen her wearing the crap out of one of our favorite trends, which is the classic denim jacket with a twist: sweater sleeves. In a sea of leather--be it denim and leather hybrids or straight up Grease style biker jackets--the denim jacket is a staple that can be endlessly customized to fit the wearers personal style. We could go on for days about acid wash and paint and embroidery, but today, it's the sweater sleeve that we're most interested in. Katy's particular jacket, which incorporates not only sweater sleeves but also bleach spots and fraying, is Free People's 'Cypress' Denim Sweater Sleeve Jacket, and you can buy it from Nordstrom for $198. There are a number of more wallet friendly options after the jump, and we'll also tell you the super easy way to hack this trend with things you might already have in your closet.

Check Out Lana Del Rey's Winter H&M Campaign Images

Sometimes when you hear that an artist has been tapped to be the face of a brand, that just means a wham bam campaign, some images, maybe a billboard, and then done. H&M, however, are showing off their girl Lana Del Rey in a campaign that's as multifaceted as the singer herself. What started out as a rumor bubbling up from the depths of the online fashion universe has quickly transformed into a holiday campaign, an awesome video, a live performance and now, a winter campaign. The cool blue images feature Lana in one of her favorite retro pin-up girl poses: leaned against a car staring into the camera with what you can't quite be sure aren't daggers. Leather-look leggings, oversized sweaters and even a fur vest make appearances in the campaign, which combines urban chic with an almost apres-ski vibe, particularly through cropped down parkas with cinched waists. It's refreshing to see a campaign that looks so editorial--in fact, the photos are actually more interesting than a lot of Lana's past editorials, combining dramatic set styling with ultra modern clothes, while still staying true to Lana's vintage, nostalgic aesthetic. Emma Watson, Kiernan Shipka, Anna Kendrick And More Shine At The 'Elle' Women In Hollywood Party

Transitional dressing is hard for everyone, but for the red carpet? Not only are the stakes higher, the competition more fierce, and the flashbulbs FAR more plentiful, but there are also just so many options. Do you go dark, the way many New Yorkers purge their wardrobe of all color the minute the first leaf hits the pavement? Or do you go ultra bright, in chilly-day-warming jewel tones and little hints of the summer that has just passed? The Elle Women In Hollywood party was last night, and its red carpet had many awesome examples of both methods for mid-fall dressing. In the first camp, Emma Watson, Kiernan Shipka, and Anna Kendrick went darker (Kiernan playing with black and white), while Emma Stone, Kristen Wiig, and Nina Dobrev went ultra-bright.

Emma Watson looked chic but still relaxed, her signature blend of laid back and edgy, in a black structured cocktail dress with a nude accent and layered construction. Paired with a pair of strappy, geometric heels and centerparted, pulled-back hair, the look was still a little light for the colder months, but just right for right now. Kiernan Shipka proved that she's growing up so fast (but not too fast) in a sweet black and white dress featuring a demure little collar and peplum. Her blonde hair, stick straight and center parted, and black pointed toe shoes looked elegant and age-appropriate. Anna Kendrick went for the vampier, more fall black look, in an ornate bustier dress and platform heels, her hair cascading around her shoulders in light waves. All three women got the delicate balance of darkness and light just right, looking October appropriate, but not at all Halloweeny.

Halloween 2012: Katy Perry Costume Ideas!

The countdown is on! Halloween is officially three weeks away, which means that there's just enough time to put together an elaborate, show-stopping costume. As the clock ticks down and we get closer, obviously your options for going all out get fewer and fewer, unless you're a lightning-fast, super DIY'er. Every year there are a few of our faves who have totally amazing, Halloween-ready looks, Katy Perry of course being one of them. Last year we told you how to get "T.G.I.F." ready, and this year we're going to be doing some of Katy's more recent, still totally iconic, looks. Some of these are harder than others, requiring online tutorials, scissors, glue and a significant time commitment, others are considerably easier, using clothes you might already have on hand and a few simple props. Either way, you'll look just as rad as Katy, and are sure to turn some heads.

In the interest of full disclosure, one of the most attractive things about this costume is the excuse to dye your hair purple. You could also wear a wig, of course, and depending on your age should always ask permission before doing something like this, since even semi-permanent dye will stick around for awhile. You can also just wear a purple wig. We LOVE Katy's look in her "Wide Awake" video, where she drapes flowers across a nude maxi dress, which she has paired with white patent Dr. Martens. Her beauty game is flawless as well, with her long grape-hued locks accentuating perfect skin and a demure pink lip. Butterflies in her hair and a killer 3-D floral mani knock this look out of the park. With a simple nude dress, some butterflies and flowers (which you can totally glue onto your nails), and some fabric tape, you can re-create this look incredibly easily. If you want to go a little deeper with it, you can do this paper flower DIY, and drape your creations across the dress with yarn or twine.
