Katy Perry and Rihanna are two style stars spearheading the rise of something truly fabulous — the tutu. We spotted many ballerina skirts like these over the summer, and these two ladies/BFFs are continuing the trend! Katy Perry performed in Munich over the weekend wearing a sparkly pink leotard with a super-low neckline and hot pink tutu pinned on her backside. Meanwhile, Rihanna wore a poufy white full-skirt tutu to a Topshop styling session in London on Monday, which she paired with a black top and a pair of brown pumps with socks. These two pals both looked fab in their tutus, but in our opinion, Rihanna wore it better! She really mixed and matched her shapes well, picking a tighter fitting shirt with the loose, voluminous skirt. But what do you think?

Nelly at the BET Awards on October 2 in Atlanta.
Picture: PictureGroup

Nelly loves himself some bling. The rapper has worn it on every body part capable of being accessorized — including his teeth. But Nelly debuted some new bling when he showed up to the BET Hip Hop Awards with three necklaces with studded American Express credit cards hanging as charms on bold ball chains. There was the invitation-only Black card, a Gold card, and the Platinum card. While he's a walking advertisement for American Express, it's kind of awesome that he's like "Hey world, rappers don't always flaunt stacks of cash money. Sometimes, we use credit cards — multiple ones — and maintain very good credit scores. OK? Now back off. Thanks."

Alexa Chung at Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 5. Blake Lively in New York on July 28.
Photo: Getty Images.

Alexa Chung and Blake Lively are both huge Chanel lovers, and they even have the same taste in the label's clothes. Just today, Alexa Chung attended Chanel's spring 2011 fashion show in Paris. She wore a short-sleeved navy tweed dress with a sheer center panel from Chanel's latest resort collection, which she rocked with chic black loafers and a simple black clutch. Earlier this summer, Blake Lively wore the same dress for the New York premiere of Twelve. The Gossip Girl star dressed up the look a little more than her British counterpart, pairing it with beige Christian Louboutin Bianca slingbacks and kept her beauty simple with a wavy ponytail. Both fashionistas looked fabulous, but in our opinion, Blake Lively wins this style matchup. It comes down to the footwear: Blake Lively's beige heels give the look an overall more polished feel. But what do you think?

Shontelle at MTV.
Photo: Circe Baumgartner/MTV

Shontelle's video for her single 'Perfect Nightmare' just dropped last week, and in it, the 25-year-old singer shows off a number of looks, such as oversize shirts with no pants and high, high ponytails. But in real life, it's a different story. When Shontelle stopped by the MTV Style studios recently, she told us she tries to be "sensible" about fashion. "I don’t know if I would say I’m a diva about anything style related, but I just really love to be fab," she says. "I love to feel really good about myself and confident, and fashion affects that a lot." As for heels: "I love to be fierce, but I also like to be comfortable. And heels really hurt," she explains. But, as every lady knows, there are exceptions. And for Shontelle, that means squeezing into a pair of stilettos every so often. "I will, every once in a while, sacrifice my soul for the sake of fashion," she says. "And I will be in immense, tremendous pain just for the sake of fabulosity." We agree — no pain, no gain!

Teen Vogue threw its annual Young Hollywood bash on Friday night, and a crew of rising style stars showed up to celebrate. With so many trendy partygoers, surely a few trends emerged—especially since designer Michael Kors sponsored the soiree! Here, we track the hottest five fashion trends of the party — which one is your favorite?

The Hills alumni Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth both wore black on the bottom for the star-studded affair. Lauren Conrad wore black shorts and an olive blouse, while Lo Bosworth wore black pants and a white lace top. They also had a couple other things in common: Round-toe black pumps and bold red lips.

Kendall Jenner, Alexa Chung, and Nicola Peltz, star of The Last Airbender, all went for a menswear approach by wearing tops with neckwear attached. Kendall Jenner paired her white blouse with a mint green skirt that had fun pleating details, while Alexa Chung and Nicola Peltz wore their tops over textured, eyelet skirts. We especially loved the fit of Alexa's Michael Kors ecru organic lace skirt—so pretty! All three ladies balanced the trend by wearing their gorgeous locks down.

Emma Roberts, Kate Mara, and Victoria Justice rocked solid color frocks but kept their looks interesting by picking dresses with pretty draping details. Emma Roberts chose a lilac, floor-length gown that had a plunging neckline, and wore it with pulled-back hair and nude pumps. Kate Mara picked a pink, Michael Kors one-shoulder dress from the designer's Resort 2011 collection and played up the romantic color with a loose, side braid and soft, neutral lipstick. And finally, Victoria Justice also wore Michael Kors, opting for a short-sleeved brown shift, which she paired with gladiator heels, loose, curly hair, and bright red lips.

When in doubt, go for a little black dress like Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland, musician/actress AJ Michalka, and Kelly Osbourne. Sarah Hyland went for a sexier look in this one-shoulder dress, while AJ Michalka chose a stunning Michael Kors leather sheath. Both ladies accessorized their dresses with black shoes with funky straps. Meanwhile, Kelly Osbourne kept it classy with a super-feminine strapless dress and a bright green clutch.

Camp Rock 2 darling Chloe Bridges, Teen Wolf actress Crystal Reed, and Brittany Snow attended the party in one of summer and fall's hottest colors: Beige! Chloe Bridges went for a simple shift that had a classic shape, while Brittany Snow picked a strapless dress with a sexy cutout by Michael Kors. Crystal Reed opted for a Michael Kors pantsuit, which she dolled up with bright, red lips and the designer's bronze leather sandals. All three girls wore wavy locks and minimal accessories, too.

Vanessa Hudgens in Guess by Marciano on September 29 in Los Angeles.

Zac Efron's girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens rocked a head-to-toe black outfit last week when she hosted a launch party for Guess’ new fragrance for women, Guess Seductive, on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The style darling picked a long-sleeved black mini for the affair, designed by — who else — Guess by Marciano, and spiced up the look with killer, over-the-knee leather boots. We're used to seeing Vanessa in flirty, feminine dresses, so we're loving that she switched up her style and went for a harder look. Dying to snap up Vanessa's dress? You can purchase it online for $128, and it even comes in a softer lilac color for those craving something other than basic black.

Beyoncé wore Andrew Gn in New York on Sept. 30.
Photo: WireImage.

Beyoncé, one of our favorite divas in the entire world, attended the Keep A Child Alive annual gala in New York last night with hubby Jay-Z wearing a strapless, fuchsia gown by Paris-based designer Andrew Gn. But, as any diva should, she didn't take the look right from the runway! Rather, the dress the designer sent down the runway during his fall 2010 collection was navy blue, and Beyoncé scored a brighter color. We love Beyoncé's change-up — the color pops on her! And that's not counting how much more the look pops with her flowing curly hair.

+ Do you like Beyoncé's fuchsia Andrew Gn gown?
