Rita Ora for Material Girl.

Here it is, Ritabots! The moment you (OK, we) have all been waiting for: Material Girl has just released Rita Ora's first campaign for the Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon-backed collection. The ads were shot on location on Rita's home turf, jolly old London, with the platinum-haired pop star modeling the label's Fall 2013 collection in front of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye, and even on top of a double decker bus!
Remember how fasincated we were by Rihanna's unorthodox hat game a few weeks ago? How, all in a span of a few days (in the middle of summer, no less), Rih was spotted in a pin veiled beanie, a camo + cameo bucket hat, and a black skully with a white paisley kerchief peeking out from the fold. How she tagged "@silverspoonattire" in all her selfies with those outfits. And how we were so mesmerized by the pieces that we had to track down the designer and for a chat. Welp, London-based Silver Spoon Attire is actually helmed by a duo—Damian and Avigail Collins—and lucky for us, D was kind enough to oblige us with a quick interview over the most intimate of modes of communication: email (unfortunately, I'm no good at making overseas phone calls. Check out our words exchanged below!
Humberto Leon and Mike D.
Looks like Kenzo has another musical collaboration to add to its historical arsenal, this time thanks to Beastie Boys' Mike D. Humberto Leon and Carol Lim enlisted the Beastie to produce an exclusive track for the legendary fashion house's Men's Spring/Summer 2014 show, following in a line of other major name curators who have lent a hand (and ear) to soundtracking Kenzo shows. (Think Jamie XX and M.I.A.) While we'd like to think that Kenzo also has Brooklyn on the brain lately with the selection of Mike D, the collection that this track, titled "Humberto Vs. The New Reactionaries. Christine and the Queens Remixx by Mike D," was created for was actually inspired by California.
Selena Gomez models her adidas NEO collection.

It's heeeeere! Back in November of last year when Selena Gomez was announced as adidas NEO's newest style icon, the release teased that Selly wouldn't just be a face but a designer for the label, too. Since the initial reveal of the Sel x NEO relationship, we've seen the "Come & Get It" singer star in lookbooks, front campaigns, and even host a New York Fashion Week runway show, but now, we're finally getting to see that collection the adidas off-shoot told us to look out for some time this year!
Kristen Stewart evidently has a thing for sheer jumpsuits.

Looks like Kristen Stewart is a believer in the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And "it," in this case, refers to dressy, sheer jumpsuits. While other pop stars and Hollywood PYTs spent their Fourth of July holidays wearing various iterations of red, white, and blue, K.Stew spent Independence Day overseas at Zuhair Murad's Paris Haute Couture show in a black jumpsuit by the Lebanese designer. Granted, it's generally good form for celebs to sport the wares of any given designer whose show they're attending, and sure, the whole sparkly sheer look is kiiiind of Zuhair Murad's thing, but we refuse to ignore that this isn't that Kristen hasn't just worn this style once or twice but THREE times.
Beliebers, gird your loins. It may not be #heartbreaker (yet!), but Justin Bieber DID put out a different kind of release: a teaser video for his newest fragrance, The Key! As you may recall from the new eau de parfum's initial announcement, Bieber's third fragrance seems to be the most mature of the bunch, described as "energetic with a sexy splash of sparkling freshness" and pictured on suggestive black satin sheets. The video only shows sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes footage, but from what we can see, the bed-related imagery just keeps coming.
KAWS' Companion and the 2013 VMA KAWS Moonman.

Heads up, Brooklyn! On Sunday, August 25, the VMAs are setting up shop at the Barclays Center for this year's night of doling out music video honors—the first major awards show to ever take place in BK. This being SUCH a landmark occasion, we had to make it special, so for the first time in the show's 30-year history, the Moonman is getting a one-time makeover courtesy of New York-based artist Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS.
MTV News' James Montgomery caught up with the design icon at his Brooklyn studio, both to peep the special-edition statuette which reimagines the OG Moonman in combination with KAWS' Companion—the grayscale, Mickey Mouse-inspired skull-and-crossbones character—right down to the double button-front shorts and to chat about the artist's ties to Brooklyn. Technically, KAWS grew up in Jersey City, then moved to Manhattan's Lower East Side for school before eventually moving to BK, but he's laid claim to the borough for the past 13 years. Therefore, it totally counts. Also, words alone can't accurately convey how stoked we are to fold Donnelly and his inimitable aesthetic into our VMA history, so we'd probably fudge the details to make it work no matter what. (JK, we'd never lie to you!)
Listen, America. We're right there with you, plodding along on this Monday after a long holiday weekend (a.k.a. the worst breed of Monday). Trust, we too are peeling our sunburns, trying to avoid scratching our mosquito bites, and mourning the onslaught of another week of cubicle sweaters. But before we officially come to grips with Independence Day having passed, we're catching up on what everyone else (OK, namely Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift) did AND wore for their Fourth of July celebrations.

Nicki Minaj spent her holiday hosting her Myx Fusions 4th of July Private Affair in New York. Her boyfriend Safaree Samuels covered the red wearing the shade head-to-toe while Nicki repped for white in a pearl-embellished pilot cap and bodycon bandage dress (though, she matched her boo with red nails).
The first look at A.P.C.Kanye.
Like clockwork, July has rolled around, and accordingly, so has the official confirmation of that long-time rumored Kanye West x A.P.C. collaboration. Brace yourself for a bit of shameless gloating coming from this direction of the interwebz, but we've been tugging your ears (or eyes?) about this for MONTHS. Let's rehash the timeline, shall we? First, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou mentioned in an interview with GQ (February 2012) that he and Yeezy had "wanted to do something related to clothes that's not high fashion, probably something more sporty," and while "it's mentally in the pipeline" for Touitou, he recognizes "it's just hard to get the guy out of a plane." Several months later (December 2012), Touitou tweeted a photo of the two huddled around a laptop in a black tiled room, presented without comment. Given what we know about Touitou having a recording studio at A.P.C. HQ and Ye's fashion design itch, we assumed they must be collaborating on something. Whether they were working on music or clothes was up in the air (also, for the record, we didn't rule out that they could have been YouTubing cat videos), but those GQ quotes suggested a range of garments ready to be worn IRL.
The thing about 2 Chainz (as so many of my conversations start) is: he's hilarious. How can you not find some place in your heart for an MC who spits, in complete earnest, "She got a big booty, so I call her 'Big Booty'"? Or who rolls up to the Grammys looking like Versace Dracula?? Whether the humor in his lyrics (and in IRL) is completely unintentional or keenly self-aware, to me, is irrelevant—I love him preeeeetty unconditionally. So, it's no surprise that when he dropped the music video for his "Feds Watching" track featuring Pharrell, I was instantly obsessed. The best part? It's teeming with not one, not two, but, like 10 über-chic, stiletto-clad models and a wealth of fashion lyrics (even if we're pretty sure he says "Como des Garçons." Just in case you're as stoked as us on all of the above, we illustrated our fave quotables with stills from the vid. Enjoy!
