Listen, we know that New Year's Eve was over 24 hours ago now, but we honestly couldn't sleep soundly if we spent another minute of 2013 without rehashing all of our favorite celebrity celebration looks. Plus, you've probably exhausted your Facebook/Instagram news feed of NYE photos by now. From the punchy matching color palettes of Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Justin Bieber to the glittering ball drop staples of Mariah Carey, JWOWW, Snooki, and Nicki Minaj, the stars turned up the style to usher in 2013 and even repped some solid trends for the new year.

RED AND BLACK COLOR BLOCK

Performing wasn't the only thing Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Justin Bieber had in common on New Year's Eve. The three pop superstars also sported matching color block ensembles of black and red to usher in 2013. T.Swizzle hit the Times Square stage in a red zippered moto jacket by IRO with black leather skinnes and knee-high patent Jimmy Choo boots. Carly Rae reversed the color combo wearing a black crop top and fingerless gloves with bright red flanking the bottom of her ensemble via a voluminous floor-length, self-striped skirt by Sachin + Babi. Not to be out-done by the ladies, Justin Bieber's TWO New Year's Eve outfits (yes, he had two) both utilized the festive color palette: a black vest + tee + drop-crotch pants performance outfit accessorized with red velcro high-tops and red blazer ensemble off-stage.

Whether you'll be sipping fizzy drinks under city lights, setting off sparklers at a beachside bonfire, or huddling up with a cozy group of friends in the great indoors, your New Year's Eve is likely to be a little chilly (to say the very least). Relatively speaking, if you're out, staying up past midnight in December (going on January), the temperature outside is just going to be colder than it is during your normal hours of operation — this is true no matter what coast, timezone, or line of latitude you'll occupy this New Year's Eve.

Nothing against the tried and true anorak or puffer coat you've been working all winter thus far, but this is a special night. Thus, you'll need a stylish coat or jacket to ring in 2013 looking cool and staying warm. Since the big night is right around the corner (and retailers are ALREADY starting to stock their shelves with spring collections *sound of price guns attaching winter clearance tags*), we've rounded up a few of our favorite outerwear options available right now. From luxurious faux furs and mod monochromatics to '90s-channeling downtown toppers and comfy coats fit for the Oregon Trail, there's something for almost every personal steez. Happy shopping!

A big furry coat is a great way to make a statement with outerwear — just ask Macklemore — which makes it kind of the perfect New Year's Eve jacket. Better yet, finding fashionable faux furs is easier than ever whether your taste is classic like this MINKPINK "Cruella Faux Fur Coat" from Urban Outfitters ($190.00), über-trendy like this "Ombre Faux Mongolian Fur Coat" from Topshop ($178.00), or funky like this "Longline Animal Fur Coat" with a cheetah print from ASOS ($140.72).

Demi Lovato, Britney Spears

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears go futuristic for "The X Factor" season finale.

Last night was the season finale of The X Factor, and while yea, it was great to see the One Direction boys (who are we kidding?? We were SALIVATING at their navy-on-navy mixed texture satin and jersey ensembles), we have to give a big hand to our GIRLS: Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. These ladies have been turning it OUT all season long. From Brit's bodycons to Demi's dabbling in bold brows, these two have made this a season of style and beauty DOMINATION. *'round the world snap* So you know they had to have one last trick of each of their sleeves come finale time. Both ladies capitalized on one of the runway's hottest trends: futuristic lines and mirror symmetry.

Lil Wayne, Trukfit

A sneak peek of Trukfit's Spring 2013 collection.

Listen, we know you're probably STILL eyeballs deep in holiday shopping right now, and your bank account is weeping uncontrollably with every new swipe of your credit card, but just remember: there's a light at the end of the tunnel. The light's called "Spring/Summer 2013," and thanks to our friends at Lil Wayne's breakout streetwear line, Trukfit, we have more than enough ocular helpings of sneak peek neon and prints and skater steez to tide us over until this collection hits stores in January. We got a special tour of Trukfit's New York headquarters courtesy of Trukfit's VP of Merchandising, Frances Wong, Marketing Manager, Mike Morris, and their publicist, Sarah Cunningham, all of whom showed us what's on the horizon for future seasons of Weezy's line. Also, they dropped some serious industry knowledge on how Wanye's ideas become actual, physical clothes, and we nerded out, hanging on every word.

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky sits down for MTV2's "Week In Jams."

A$AP Rocky has said it once, but in this clip from Week In Jams, he's saying it again: he didn't wear a dress on 106 & Park. In this short Week In Jams sneak peek, A$AP sits down with Charlemagne, DJ Envy, and Sofi Green and sets the record straight once and for all. "Alright, let me break it down. That was not a Rick Owens dress," Rocky says when Charlemagne starts things off with the much buzzed about outfit, "It's not a man's dress, none of that. It's just an oversized shirt. It was long sleeved. The picture that [blogs] were putting with it was the tank top one, so it looks really, extra, more feminine."

Elastic Strap Leggings

Would you wear these elastic strap leggings?
Photo: Courtesy of 80's Purple

Let me start by saying that I, truthfully, don't have anything against leggings. I know they cause a lot of spikes in blood pressure when people apply them as equal substitutes for pants, and sure, that's a bad look. But pair them with a way oversized button-up or a boyfriend sweater? I say that's fair game. Leggings are just too comfortable to be completely outcast as a class of garment for the fashionable public. This particular pair of leggings, on the other hand, we're open to debating. We recently stumbled on these elastic strap leggings from Anzevino & Florence while perusing the digital racks of 80's Purple and have been scratching our heads about them ever since.

It's the home stretch, y'all! We are soooo close to the end of the year, we can almost TASTE the Auld Lang Syne and New Year's glitterbombing. All month long, we've been counting down the biggest and best style moments of 2012 from the typical like best hair, nail art, and campaigns to the silly (e.g. cat ladies, sticker apps, and Instagram selfies). What's next on deck? A personal favorite: the year's best fashion lyrics.

MTV Style exists, in part, due to an intrinsic and unavoidable relationship between music and fashion. That happy creative marriage manifests itself in a couple of different ways from designers inspired by musical muses to high fashion performance outfits to renaissance musician/designers dominating everything from the runway to retail à la Kanye West and Jessica Simpson. The point of intersection we're interested in today is the "Fashion Lyric." Musicians, especially MCs, have been writing style references into their songs for years, but this year, fashion lyrics feel more prevalent than ever. I mean, what are the chances of both Yeezy and Nicki Minaj penning rhymes about Vogue EIC Anna Wintour in the same year? And believe us, that's only the tip of the iceberg. We made it our duty to sift out all the best nuggets from this year's offerings (yes, non-singles from new album releases this year were fair game!) and relay them back to you. Peep our round-up of the best fashion lyrics of 2012 from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's ode to thrift shopping to A$AP Rocky's expert integration of Maison Martin Margiela, and there's even a nod to Lady Gaga's Philip Treacy runway wardrobe extravaganza. Enjoy!

Beyonce

We've been following this faux fashion graphic trend that takes the iconic logos of major fashion houses and satirizes and repurposes them in fresh streetwear designs. Now, Beyonce is getting in on the action with a cream-colored sweatshirt emblazoned with Chanel's interlocking C logo rendered in leopard print. As soon as we saw this elevator snap Bey Instagrammed of herself wearing this relaxed boyfriend style crewneck, bright red skinnies, gold oxfords, and colorful illustrated snapback, we hit the Internet ground running, trying to identify and procure every element of her ensemble. Sorry, Bey for biting your style, but imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

Harry Styles

Harry Styles tries a new look with Line Camera.
Photo: Courtesy of @pixiegeldof1 Twitter

Of all the boys of One Direction, Harry Styles is the most known for wielding a signature preppy style. Whether he's clad in button-ups and blazers or fuzzy cashmere, Harry's steez is, more often than not, crisp, clean, and collegiate. BUT we know that people change, and with chest tattoos and new girlfriends perhaps also comes a change in style. With 1D's meteoric rise to international fame, Harry probably can't roll up to a store and leisurely try stuff on (that is, unless he shuts it down), so what better way to experiment with style than via model Pixie Geldof's Line Camera stamps?

And there you have it. Gossip Girl Season 6, the FINAL season of GG and thereby the entire series, is officially over. *pours a little out for Kristen Bell's steady V.O. paycheck* The end of the show as we know it also means the end of these weekly fashion recaps, and since this is the last time we'll be writing about this particular version of the Upper East Side teen drama (who knows if/when there will be a remake or movie penned), we're not holding anything back. If you haven't caught up yet, I'd stop reading right now (both this post and probably also your Twitter feed) because I'm about to LITTER this digital page with spoilers. LET'S DISCUSS!
