Bath time for Lady Gaga and her wig.
Photo: @ladygaga Instagram
We all know Lady Gaga is a big fan of her new wig. It seems like she never takes it off and, actually, based on a photo she posted to Instagram last night, she doesn't—she bathes in it! Um, is bathing in a wig something you should do? While I fully thought the answer would be a resounding NO, I actually found a few sites that suggest you shower with a wig if you have one made of human hair! Who knew?
Other sites suggest you don't because, uh, wigs are expensive and swirling around water with them on can tangle them, so it seems like the decision is up to the wig wearer. If you're just looking for a photo op like Lady Gaga, you can pop your wig on, get someone to take your photo, and then take it off before you do any damage.
Real talk: who wore this collar better?
Photo: @ladygaga Instagram/Splash News
Yesterday, Lady Gaga left her apartment wearing the above Tudor ruff because—IDK—it was Wednesday? We all celebrate the middle of the week differently, right? She wore an oversized blazer, her new fave wig, and carried Asia, who was just hanging. Literally—look at her cute li'l legs!
Last night, Gaga posted photos of Asia wearing the Elizabethan collar (but not that Elizabethan collar) which begs the question: who wore it better? OK, it doesn't, but play along, plz?

If you don't keep close tabs on Lady Gaga like I do (um, it's my job, so bye H8ERz), you may have missed the large, curly wig she's been wearing since last week. She's been wearing it with a slew of different looks, but all have one thing in common—it's hard to deny how Cher that wig is. Gaga is not the only pop star paying attention to Cher's past looks—Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and more have all taken pages from her long and iconic book.
Below are a few of the most obvious homages/imitators/etc. If you're a pop star looking to start a trend, you can rest assured that Cher (probably) did it first.

Miley's Bangerz Tour wardrobe is heavy on the sequins and cutouts. Guess who was wearing a similar white outfit in 1975? Cher.
Karma and Amy on 'Faking It.'
Whoa. That Faking It finale, you guys? I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to live my life until next season? Oh, yeah, big news—Faking It was picked up for a second season! All our faves will be back (yay!) but considering everything that went down on last night's episode, there is bound to be some major ~dramz~. But let's skip chatting about heartbreak and focus on fashion because, well, it's not as traumatizing. And, TBH, wedding fashion > all other fashion.
Karma on 'Faking It.'
Karma wore a short-sleeve green dress with a netted cutout along the neckline. This is how to do cutouts, people. Also, her hair color + that dress color = perfection. We've seen Karma in a lot of dresses this season, but never anything so simple and solid-color. It totally fits her, IMHO!
Ed Sheeran's MTV documentary Nine Days and Nights premieres tonight on MTV at 11 p.m. EST, but our frandz at MTV News have a preview of the show and it involves Taylor Swift, Drake, and needlepoint.
It's no secret that Taylor loves to ~craft~, but we had no idea needlepoint (specifically) was among her crafty talents. The above cross stitch was made by Taylor and gifted to Ed, which makes sense because it features the both of them. It'd be weird if she gave it to, like, Hailee Steinfeld instead. It also features the phrase "The struggle is real" and some lyrics from "Started from the Bottom." Fact: Taylor is not the first person to embroider hip-hop lyrics onto canvas—below are a few of our faves. Enjoy 'em (and maybe consider decorating your home with them?)!

New 'Pretty Little Liars' x Aeropostale!
Pretty Little Liars has been on hiatus since March, but it's back tomorrow. To coincide with its ~dramatic~ return, Aeropostale has launched the second collection in their PLL collaboration. The pieces hit stores yesterday and were designed by Mandi Line, the show's costume designer (also the costume designer on Faking It!). We chatted with her about the new collection, which character's style she likes the best, and whether to expect more pieces in the future.
MTV STYLE: How would you describe the overall style on Pretty Little Liars?
MANDI LINE: The overall style is fun, unique, obtainable, and wild. You never know what to expect.
How do the clothes in this collection fit with each character?
I did my best to make sure that the collection, which is for the fans, was as iconic as possible. Who wants stuff they can buy anywhere, any day?

Gather round, Directioners. If you didn't expect to wake up to some very exciting One Direction news on this Monday morning, you are in for a real treat—there's a new fragrance on the way! In a video this morning, Liam announced that the new fragrance, You & I, would be dropping later this summer.
The new scent is the band's third—there was, of course, Our Moment last summer and That Moment earlier this spring. Liam reveals that all five guys played a major role in both developing the scent and designing the bottle. So, um, is the bottle gonna be shaped like a gray sweater? Maybe it'll be just, like, a morph of all their faces? The words "You & I" have history in the world of One Direction, y'know?
Style icon, TBH.

• Obviously, the thing we and everyone else most wanted to talk about this week was Rihanna's totally sheer dress. You know the one. Made of 230,000 Swarovski crystals? Yeah, that one.
• The Fault In Our Stars finally hit theaters (today!) and Shailene Woodley went barefoot on her way to the premiere. Yep, no shoes on New York City sidewalks. O_O
• Nick Minaj wore silver star pasties and a sheer shirt to Hot 97 Summer Jam, marking the first time she performed in her preferred accessory. (We're talking about the pasties. Oh, you got that already? Ok, ok.)
• The CMT Awards were on Wednesday and Kacey Musgraves schooled us in how to wear not-so-basic black both on the red carpet and on stage.
• In honor of the return of Orange Is The New Black (which I will be watching from the second I leave work until I am finished with every episode), we tested beauty hacks from the show's posters. Do tampons work as curlers? You'll have to watch to see!

Nicki Minaj's "Pills N Potions" video is coming, y'all. She just posted a 45-second teaser on YouTube and, dang, we have a lot to look forward to. In under a minute we're treated to seven looks–I mean, how many could the full video possibly have, 40? We'll find out on Monday when the full thing drops, but until then, we can discuss what's in store.
A still from Nicki Minaj's 'Pills and Potions' teaser.

First up is a sheer white shirt, nude stiletto nails, and an e-cigarette (don't try at home, kids). Also, because her eyes are closed, you get a full sense of just how expertly her eyeliner is applied. The application process deserves a video of its own (hint hint, Nicki).

When most people wear vintage clothing, they have no idea where their clothes came from. Sure, they likely purchased their vintage pieces at a store organized by color, but I'm talking about originally. They have no idea who (or how many people) wore that shirt before them. Their clothes have history they don't even know about. Lady Gaga, obviously, is not like most people. Lady Gaga knows exactly who wore her clothes before her and, in the case of the sequined number she wore last night, that person is Daphne Guinness.
Gaga is on a break from her ARTPOP tour and debuted a new look yesterday–very Designing Women, don't you think?–and revealed in the caption of one of her Instagram photos that the sequined leopard print piece she has on is Dolce & Gabbana archive and was previously owned and worn by Daphne Guinness. Most of my vintage stuff is, like, Gap vintage and previously owned and worn by someone who couldn't eat without spilling, but I digress. Lady Gaga has been a longtime fan of Daphne–she's called her a living legend and muse–so wearing Daphne's clothes is a BFD. This isn't the first piece of couture broken in by Daphne Guinness that Gaga owns, BTW–in 2012 she successfully bid on an Alexander McQueen gown that Daphne wore in Harper's Bazaar.
