Lady Gaga in New York
Photo: Splash News
BREAKING NEWS: Lady Gaga wore an outfit another human on planet Earth would consider wearing. That person in the photo above this text is, in fact, Stefani Germanotta, a.k.a. Lady Gaga. You may not recognize her because she's not wearing her creepy new grill, isn't holding a giant seashell above her head, and doesn't have an inexplicable claw in her hand. You can trust us, though: that's definitely her.
It was announced yesterday that Gaga would be the first person to perform in space. Don't worry, Little Monsters, the performance is scheduled for 2015, so you still have time to buy your tickets and prepare to be in zero-gravity. Surprisingly, following the announcement, Gaga didn't make an appearance in a space suit or alien mask, but rather, dressed in head-to-toe black. She even had on flats instead of the 9-inch boots she's been wearing lately. Flats are more sensible for space, I suppose.
Ke$ha in a still from 'My Crazy Beautiful Life.'
It's obvious that Ke$ha likes to have fun on tour (see: her mom in a penis costume). My Crazy Beautiful Life makes it evident just how much fun she likes to have: pranks are plentiful and last night's episode featured one that included red Solo cups, hot-pink duct tape, and tiger masks (obvs).
Ke$ha and team decided to surprise her opening act, Semi-Precious Weapons, by running onstage with nothing but strategically placed cups. For an extra precaution, Ke$ha decided to tape hers in place with hot pink duct tape, creating a halter-top, party-bra. If you squint your eyes just so, it's almost a makeshift homage to Madonna's pointy cone bra. Like, basically you have to have your eyes closed... Meow.
Aaaaaaanyway, she paired the jury-rigged top with a tiger head because, as everybody knows, those are the ironclad rules. It's too bad Halloween just ended, this would've been the perfect ~sexy~ tiger costume. Luckily, Ke$ha didn't have to take the stage alone in such a precarious outfit: her dancers joined her.
Whoa, check out Selena Gomez in a bra and bob! Don't worry, we haven't unearthed private photos of the singer: this flick and the voyeuristic ones below are from her just-released spread in Flaunt magazine. The editorial, shot by Amanda de Cadenet, features Selena in a far more mature context than we're used to seeing her. Sure, we've seen her in a teeny bikini in Spring Breakers, but the tailored looks in this steamy tryst is some seriously bracing stuff.
The black, lace bralette and the shorter 'do is enough of a different look for Selly that we almost missed the shirtless man in the foreground of the picture. Almost.
A still from Lana Del Rey's 'Tropico' teaser.
Photo: Lana Del Rey's YouTube Page
Lana Del Rey has been quietly teasing Tropico, her short film, for months. Today, for the first time since this summer, there was news on the project in the form of a thirteen-second clip. Prior to the clip, Lanahad only provided images: first came a very Adam and Eve-y image of her holding a snake, which revealed that Tropico existed in the first place. Then came her second Adam and Eve image, in which she sported a flower bikini and stood next to model Shaun Ross in a dark forest. The final image was Lana in a veil, kneeling on the ground, evoking the Virgin Mary. Those images were rapidly released at the end of July and in the beginning of August, and since then we've heard nada. Way to leave us hanging, LDR.
Kanye West in his Yeezus Tour merch.
Photos: Splash News/Getty Images
Who'd have thought Kanye West would be the biggest fan of his own Yeezus Tour merch? He's normally so humble about his work... JK JK! Just last week, he told us how "[he's] the number one, most influential person on the globe in fashion." So it's only fitting that 'Ye would model his own wares and show just how fresh" his Yeezus product really is.
A few days into the tour, there was a photo of Kanye wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Kim Kardashian on it, across which Yeezus was written. While that particular tee may have been a Kanye West exclusive (limited-edition, 1:1 HANH?!) because it hasn't been released yet, there are other options being sold on tour and in his LA pop-up shop.
Though he's yet to wear his PacSun gear, he has been spotted in one of the Wes Lang-illustrated joints featuring the Grim Reaper holding a bouquet of flowers, as well as a printed "Yeezus Tour" sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off (who doesn't love a remix?). He must really love the way it all looks with destroyed jeans (the same ones he wore on Jimmy Kimmel), since that's proved to be his go-to pairing. The repeated look (a rarity for the fashion plate) doesn't stop there: he's also worn his controversial, stars-and-bars, Confederate jacket twice (and counting).
Rita Ora at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards.

Another day, another 'do for Rita Ora! Last night at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, where she won Musician Of The Year, Rita debuted a new, tousled platinum coif. Though she changes her hair on the regular (remember the colored chunks from a few weeks ago?), Rita has never gone quite this blonde before. In fact, the bright color stood in such stark contrast with her brows and red lip, that the whole thing is serving major Gwen Stefani vibes.
Rita, who dubbed herself the "#icequeen," wore a white, long-sleeved, lace Ermanno Scervino gown. If you're gonna wear white after Labor Day, may as well wear it head-to-toe, right? On that note, it's a good thing there wasn't a blizzard in London last night, since it would've been near-impossible to pluck Rita from a pile of snow. Bold lipstick notwithstanding.
MTV's Artist To Watch this week is none other than our fave barrette-wearing singer, Lorde. When Lorde was in New York recently, we had a chance to chat with her about her fashion choices and her ah-may-zing hair.
Lorde revealed that she's really into "goth vibes" (those vibes seem to be making the rounds: Rihanna's #ghettogoth steez, anyone?), even though she says the goth community may shun her. Don't exclude the lady holding strong at #1 on the Billboard charts for the fifth week in a row, goths!
The poster for Justin Bieber's The Key short film.
Photo: Justin Bieber's Twitter
Up until now, the promo surrounding Justin Bieber's latest fragrance, The Key, involved silk sheets, sleeping, and a key. With the release of seemingly inexplicable The Key alarm clock app, we came to the conclusion that the entire campaign revolves around Bieber unlocking your door as you sleep and visiting you (IRL/in your dreams) and waking you up (hence the alarm clock). Today, Bieber tweeted a poster for a "short film" he's releasing for The Key. The perfume bottle and silk sheets are on the bottom half of the poster, but the top half introduces an entirely new element into the campaign: a girl who is not asleep, dreamin' of Bieber, but awake.
Rihanna's Viva Glam collection.

Dry those tears, RihannaNavy! Just when you thought Rihanna's holiday collection with MAC would be her last, she goes and announces that she's the new face of Viva Glam. Viva Glam lipstick was created by MAC in 1994 to benefit women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Every cent from each lipstick sold goes to the MAC AIDS Fund, which is why in recent years, the cosmetics giant has used the selling power of Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper and Nicki Minaj for its campaigns. Remember those pics of Nicki Minaj floating in a pool surrounded by giant lipsticks? That was for Viva Glam.
Rihanna posted a photo of her Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass to Instagram this morning. Both are sparkly red and bear a striking resemblance to RiRi Woo (which we obvi love). But Rihanna's got big shoes to fill, according to some stats from Nicki Minaj. Her Minajesty claims that her own Viva Glam lipstick was the number 1 selling lipstick of all time. We're not too worried, though: after all, RiRi Woo sold out in 3 hours.
Selena Gomez on the cover of 'Teen Vogue.'
Photo: Teen Vogue
It's been three months since we've seen Selena Gomez grace the cover of a magazine—she has been a little busy with her Stars Dance tour, after all—but now she's back on stands for the December cover of Teen Vogue. Oh, and, NBD, it's her fourth cover for the mag. On #4, Selena sheds the elaborate hairstyles she's been sporting recently for an undone (yet chic) 'do. The slightly mussed look is totally appropriate though, seeing as how she's sitting in the back of a convertible. #windblown Sellie wears a pink-and-red heart print Gucci dress and sports nearly no makeup: looking this serene in the back of a topless car is rarely this easy for us regular folk.
