Like most of the fash-hungry population, we here at MTV Style just LOVE ourselves a good awards show. The sparkle of every sequin and bead, the sheen of every satin and silk—we want it all. From the red carpet to the stage to the pretaped vignettes, the starlets of tonight's 2011 Emmy Awards pulled out all the stops, and so compelled were we by the parade of scintillating beauties that we HAD TO note our top 10 dresses from the night.

gown. She kept things simple with natural makeup and glossy, straight hair, left down. All the better to showcase the drama of the dress's ruffled shoulder embellishments and sweeping open back.
Now, it's OFFICIAL. First, a prominent feature in the "Yoü and I" music video. Then, an all-night appearance at the 2011 VMAs. And now, Lady Gaga's dude alter ego Jo Calderone has been immortalized by the white-hot flashbulbs of legendary rock and roll photographer Terry Richardson. This makes Jo, we think, a bit of his own bona fide seperate entity, breathing new and individual light to what had seemed at first a fleeting character (most likely Gaga's aim all along, but we aren't mind readers). Jo's style is simple—white tees, black slacks, Elvis-esque pompadour—but that's what makes him the perfect subject for a Terry Richardson shoot. The photos are classically Terry—beautiful, clean, raw, and REAL. Peep the rest of the photos AND last night's live performance of "Yoü and I" at the 2011 VMAs after the jump!
Well folks, it's been another year and yet another entertaining (and STYLE CRAZY!!!) VMAs. Seriously, what other awards show gives you a giant, yellow cube hat, a Ralph Macchio look-a-like, and a surgical mask as the accessory du jour? We don't mean to breathe on our Minx Nails and shine them languidly on our hypothetical METALLIC LEOPARD SEQUIN blogging gown, but we're pretty proud of all of the celebs who truly brought it this year. We don't know about you, but it felt like a PARTY (a sparkly, cat-eyed, Minnie Mouse party) out on that red—er, black—carpet, and we had a hard time narrowing down our STYLE FAVES to just 10 SHOWSTOPPERS. You see, in our no-rulez book, EVERYONE'S a WINNER, buuuuut, we picked 10 anyway. Thus, without further ado, we present our OUTFITS OF THE NIGHT!

Newly announced mommy-to-be Beyoncé glowed in a fiery one-shoulder Lanvin gown that showed off a more regal side to Bey. Her effortless side pony and simple accessories were absolute PERFECTION against her bold dress. But we're sure Jay-Z already knew that.

Katy Perry took a bit of Asian influence with her to the VMA red carpet! She wore a springy floral blue, pink, and yellow Atelier Versace frock, hot pink strappy Jimmy Choo sandals, and a matching parasol, which made her freshly dyed pink hair POP.

Who'da thunk, after popping out of a wedding cake and then proceeding to do R-Rated things to the floor, that Madonna's infamous performance at the VERY FIRST Video Music Awards would become so iconic? And furthermore, who could possibly imagine, three decades after we first had our minds blown, that a cute cat performing Madonna's "Like A Virgin" VMA moment could nail it with ALMOST as much finesse as Madge? If you didn't see the original video, then be excited: You are like a virgin (to amazing cat videos).

BREAKING NEWS! MTV Style has just confirmed that rapper/director (and STYLE FAVE) Kreayshawn will host the 2011 Video Music Awards Red Carpet Report for MTV.com on Aug. 28! "I'm super excited to be the red carpet host at this year's VMAs," says Kreayshawn. "I can harass celebrities about what they're wearing, what they ate before they got to the carpet, all sorts of funny stuff." The "Gucci Gucci" singer and Best New Artist nominee will interview attendees about their VMA red carpet style exclusively for MTV.com.

If you haven't seen the animal reenactment of Lady Gaga winning the 2010 Best Music Video Award and asking a scantily clad Cher to hold her meat purse, you are clearly missing out on the internet. When redone by a wig-wearing Sugar and a non-meat omnomnoming Moxie, the moment is every bit as memorable (but way cuter) than it was the first time around. And not only are animals acting like (famous) people heart-melting, but the costuming is so impeccable that we had to speak to the woman who sat down to replicate the VMAs Gone Wild looks...but for pint-sized pups. Check the reenactment in its furry fabulousness after the jump.
Ariana Grande shares her Back-to-School style tips.

Those of you who recognize Ariana Grande from her flame-tressed character, Cat Valentine, on the Nickelodeon show 'Victorious' may only know the zany, effervescent, wild fashion side of the 18-year-old. The real Ariana attests that her personal style is WAY different and is looking forward to fall to experiment with new denim silhouettes, bold coats and, of course, CHANEL CHANEL CHANEL. We caught up with the 18-year-old singer, dancer and actress (who is newly signed to Universal Republic Records) to talk about her best back-to-school beauty, shopping and accessorizing tips.
Cat's supercute but definitely stylistically out there. How do your tastes differ?
Cat dresses like an absolute maniac most of the time! It’s like, medium cute. It’s definitely different from my personal style and differs even more from my performance style. My performance outfits are very Marie Antoinette, sparkly corsets, giant underwear, and full skirts. And then we do another look that's '50s-inspired. Poufy skirts, big bows. Very fun, girlie and young but otherwise, when I'm not in costume I dress really normal. I love high fashion, I love Chanel but at the same time I love a hoodie, jeans and American Apparel sweatpants.
What other brands are you fond of?
My favorites are all over the place. I mentioned Chanel, I love American Apparel, I love Miu Miu and Rebecca Taylor. My style is somewhat classic.
What do you think of Hailee Steinfeld being the face of Miu Miu at 14?
I think it's amazing that the fashion industry is giving such wonderful opportunities to young actresses and besides, I just love a full eyebrow. I have enormous skyscraper eyebrows so I check hers out and they're great.
