Oh Land at MTV.
Photo: MTV

Oh, Oh Land. Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh Land. Don't you just want to be best of friends with this Danish singer? She's so the girl from out of town who starts school halfway though the semester and is so nice to you in the cafeteria because she has no idea that she registers much higher on the popularity pecking order and then is STILL nice to you once she figures it all out. Plus, she doesn't even ask for her cut-up T-shirt that you borrowed back. The one that you're just WAITING on summer to bust out so all your camp friends will be SLAYED by the coolness that doesn't belong to you at all. :(

ANYWAYS, the former, formally trained ballet dancer and our current obsession has a crazy-making confidence and enigmatic charm that make rainbow colored unicorn babies with gigantic shiny eyes feel ordinary and like they have nothing interesting to say. Aaaaand if you listen to her music, from her self-titled debut album that dropped on March 15 (cop it here!), you'll totally know what we're talking about. Plus, blessedly, Oh Land's friendly enough to share her secrets on how to be so pretty. Out of the goodness of her heart. And so we don't envy rage and cry off our makeup at our desks with feeble shaking fists. Close. Call. Check her out and watch her be super diplomatic about how she feels about ballet trends.

Oh man, some of us are EXHAUSTED from watching our colleagues bust their asses putting the 2011 Woodie Awards together for you. We fell back to do what we do best, which is to train our crosshairs on the red carpet (or I guess, "Black Carpet"?) to laboriously hunt for our favorite outfits of the night. We gotta say, the dudes looked great, but it's the ladies who took the cake, stuffed it in their prettily painted faces and made us fall desperately in love with EVERYTHING they were wearing. Check out some of our favorites below.

Zoe Kravitz on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

Actress, Alexander Wang muse and undeniable fashion plate Zoe Kravitz looks effortlessly chic as always with just the hint of color both in her hair and blouse. The accessories and three-quarter rolled-up sleeves complete the look. Plus, we always enjoy how she manages to strike the perfect combo of bored body language but smizing her face off.

Yayayayay! We love Oh Land. The Danish singer and former ballet dancer and current awesome-looking lady always dresses with a hint of kook that we find completely irresistible. Her self-titled debut album came out this week so definitely check it out. Besides, hi, who can deny a beautiful woman in a rakish hat and a dress festooned with GALAXIES? Only bad people.

Ginger Sling on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

If Ginger Sling looks slightly familiar to you, it's because you may know her as the touring bassist for none other than music LEGENDS Smashing Pumpkins (they ALWAYS had the badass-looking bassists, right? Talking to you D'arcy Wretzky and Melissa Auf der Maur.). What we're digging about this whole situation is that she could have so easily OD'd on micro-floral but kept every other aspect black and unfussy. Plus, it's all un-prettied with combat boots. Well played.

Yelawolf and Skylar Grey on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

Were we the only ones totally stoked to see what the songwriting hook master (Dirty Money, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Lupe) Skylar Grey looked like? We lovelovelove when the payoff is THIS rewarding. The Grammy-nommed artist is cramazing-looking from her gargantuan hair to her obliques (aka D'Angelo muscles) to her brazen tartan harem pants. Yelawolf is not so shabby either. Ahem.

Sleigh Bells on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

Brooklyn-based noise pop twosome Sleigh Bells have got easy-peasy cool-kid steez on lock, and of course this pic of Alexis Krauss does little to quash our RAGING GIRL CRUSH. We <3 leather jackets with gonzo leggings. LIZ LEE:

Liz Lee of "My Life As Liz" on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

MTV's own Liz Lee does midriff tee just right with an asymmetrical hem that's mirrored by her perfectly raggedy jorts. A patterned bolero adds to the seemingly blithe (but def in no way coincidental) proportions without swallowing up the My Life As Liz actress.

Black Cards on the red carpet at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas.
Photo: PictureGroup

Pete Wentz's side project that's been described as "sparkly synth and bubbly dub" looks just as delectable on the red carpet, but it's the lady-boner inspiring Bebe Rexha who is slaying us with her ensemble. Shoes, bra, skirt all solid black, which expertly counters the more ornate lace detail in the middle and her textured tights. You'll see an added echo in her lace, fingerless gloves, but it's the strips of fishnet matching the front panel of her dress that make us stand up for the *slow clap*.

Wiz Khalifa performing at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards on March 17.
Photo: PictureGroup/Courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana

OMGAWG. Deaddeaddeaddead. Waaaaaant. We love every iteration of the Johnny Depp circa Cry-Baby T-shirts (remember when Amy Winehouse rocked one?), but the fact that Wiz Khalifa's is Dolce & Gabbana (D&G spring/summer 2011 to be exact) simultaneously tickles our Johnny Depp obsession and our guilty fixation on mega-louche designer Italian brands. Is it gross that we want to wear ours WITH slicked wet hair and a leather jacket? Too much? Grab yours here. Or, hell, DIY that ish since the power of Depp is just as potent laser printed onto a blank white crewneck.

Ian Somerhalder and Penn Badgley at 'Cosmopolitan' magazine's Fun Fearless Males of 2011 in New York on March 7, and Matt Bomer at PaleyFest's 'White Collar' event in Beverly Hills on March 7.
Photo: Getty Images

Out with the ties, in with the chest hair! Last night, the lads couldn't wait to bare it all, and Ian Somerhalder, Penn Badgley, and Matthew Bomer proved that showing some skin can DEFINITELY lure us in (heh. *motorboat*). Vampire Diaries stud, Ian, smoldered in a shiny black suit, white popped-open shirt (peep the VERY proper peek of cuff at his sleeves), and unlaced combat boots; Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley wore head-to-toe black suit, shirt and shoes, which accentuated his burly chest hair (and his tousled mop; meeeeeow!); and White Collar's Matt Bomer skewed casual in a blue unbuttoned shirt, brown suit coat, dark denim jeans and slip-on black shoes. All three gents get two thumbs-up for their A+++ facial scruff, but since this IS a style showdown, we're going with Penn's long, lean, and luscious look. Don't worry—Ian's alabaster sternum pulled him in at a close second. There's always next time, pal.

+ Who bares their chest the best—Ian, Penn, or Matt?

Alan Cumming at 'That Championship Season' opening night in New York on March 6.
Photo: Getty Images

Well, hullo Mr. Alan Cumming. The 46-year-old looked rather gentlemanly (and weather appropriate) at the Broadway opening of That Championship Season in New York last night. As if his chambray shirt paired with tweed pants TUCKED INTO triple-buckle black boots wasn't enough, he had to throw on a comely navy G-Star star trench. We love that he wasn't afraid to fasten all the buttons on his shirt and coat but that he zipped in the extra drop-waist cargo panel to lengthen the look and keep his pants high and dry. Plus, we're obsessed with his effortless salt-and-pepper coif (woof!) and those thick-framed glasses. What do you think of the coat + popped collar?

+ Do you like Alan Cumming's rainy day ensemble?

Lady Gaga on the Thierry Mugler runway in Paris on Mar. 2
Photo: Getty Images

Lady Gaga made her modeling debut (and played her new song "Government Hooker") at Thierry Mugler's F/W 2011 runway show in Paris. And while most models do a little turn at the end of the catwalk, Gaga started smoking a cigarette. Amazing.

• Remember when Jared Leto wore that oversize poncho-Snuggie thing? Yeah, well now he's sporting giant fringe shoulder pads. What will the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman wear next? Our guess: FEATHERS!

• Those Jersey Shore cast members were ALL OVER the place this week! Snooki rode a rocket, Sammi returned to the shore house, and JWOWW dressed like a Vegas showgirl.

• The Oscars went down with a BANG! We've got every gown that grazed the red carpet from that night (and ALL of Anne Hathaway's seven stage looks!).

• This week was the Biebs birthday! Not only did we celebrate Justin's supercute style, but we also looked at his transformation from the stoop (literally) to the stage. Oh, how he's grown!

• Kelly Osbourne, Lourdes Leon, and Madonna teamed up for the Material Girl photo shoot, and we've got the behind-the-scenes pics! Must. Visit. Macy's. ASAP.

• What were those hot hustlers up to this week? Zac Efron proved he's street chic, The Black Lips stripped down to their bathing suits, the Independent Spirit Awards were filled with studs, and Demetri Martin made us want to take him home with us.

• This is it! Your LAST Gossip Girl fashion fix until April 18. Soak in the glow of those gorgeous Upper East Side ensembles one last time.

• Wanna dress like a celeb? Well, now you can! Get gem stone earrings like Blake Lively, a prom dress like Kendall Jenner, or a Topshop blouse like Jena Malone.

• Spring trends are in full force (even though the weather may not be!). This week we loved: strappy heels, knit print leggings, crackle nail polish, and bangs!

• The fashion face-offs continue! Who wore it best: Emma Stone or January Jones?

Welcome our new Senior Editor Mary H.K. Choi to the MTV Style team! Check back on Monday for her first post, which we promise is going to be beyond-awesome. See you then!

Bradley Cooper at a 'Limitless' screening in Hollywood on March 3.
Photo: Getty Images

Layering isn't always easy (especially if you're a dude...it can look football player-ish, ya know?), but Bradley Cooper makes it look easy. At yesterday's Hollywood Limitless premiere (he stars in the film!), the 36-year-old actor wore a light blue thermal tee, navy blue shawl collar sweater, black Windbreaker jacket, dark denim wash jeans, and lace-up black boots. His trick to not looking like a quarterback: Choose tops made of thinner fabrics. Take notes, fellas! Another attention-to-detail we love is how the sky-blue thermal top peeks out from underneath his lightweight sweater.

+ Do you like Bradley Cooper's layered look?

Britney Spears is on the cover (three of them, actually!) of V magazine. Shot by photographer Mario Testino, Brit-Brit looks GORGE in the colorful shots, don't you think? {Coco Perez}

• The lookbook for Sienna Miller's clothing line Twenty8Twelve—full of boho-chic skirts, dresses, tanks and shorts—has just hit and we love, love, love it. {InStyle}

• Just when you think the Lady Gaga/Mugler lovefest is over, Gaga goes and buys the entire collection...in every color. {Fashionologie}

• Stop the presses! You know that scruff that has been dangling from Johnny Depp's chin as of late? Well, it's gone! Now, about those scarves...{People StyleWatch}

• Found: Five HOT pairs of perfect-for-spring wedges...all under $100. {SheFinds}

• Despite court appearances/etc. for his alleged recent racial slurs, John Galliano's Dior fashion show will go on. But instead of the traditional runway extravaganza on Sunday in Paris, there will be an informal presentation, say reports. {Fashionologie}

Rumer Willis admits to borrowing her mom Demi Moore's threads for the red carpet. If our mom dressed like that, we would too! {People StyleWatch}

Teresa Palmer in Christian Louboutin on March 2, Eva Mendes in Pierre Hardy on Feb. 26, Mia Wasikowska in Nicholas Kirkwood on Feb. 26
Photo: Getty Images

Strappy sandals aren't what they used to be. And that's a good thing! Instead of the same ol' tied-up/ankle wrapped/crisscrossed look, we're seeing tons of upgrades to the classic silhouette. Teresa Palmer's laced-up-to-her-shins croc-print Christian Louboutin pumps prove that straps aren't reserved for sandals alone, while Eva Mendes' double ankle tie adds an unexpected twist to her bright turquoise Pierre Hardy heels. We also loved the cutout details of Mia Wasikowska's Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes which created a pseudo strappy feel to her funky slingbacks. These stylish sandals have us super excited to show off our crackle coat pedicures, but which pair is your favorite?

Blake Lively at a dinner in her honor hosted by Chanel in New York on March 2.
Photo: Getty Images

On Wednesday at a Chanel dinner in her honor (fancy, huh?), actress Blake Lively dressed up her winter white frock with gorgeous green gem earrings! We loved the unexpected pop of color that added glitz to her otherwise monochromatic outfit. If you want to try this colorful trend, we've scoped out some similar studs.

Clockwise from left:
+ Betsey Johnson's "Lovely Leopard" Stud Earrings ($30, Nordstrom.com) are infused with hints of blue and green, which add even more drama to the diamond encrusted set.
+ These Melanie Auld Holly Earrings ($65, MaxAndChloe.com) have a huge round center like Blake's earrings, with gold touches on the outside.
+ Kate Spade's Gumdrop Stud Earrings ($38, KateSpade.com) are the most basic of the bunch, perfect for those who want to ease into this bright trend.
+ For an oval touch, opt for these Target 14K Gold Oval Emerald Teardrop Earrings ($69, Target.com), which feature a smaller green stone.
+ And last but not least, these Target Gold Over Silver Peridot and Diamond Earrings ($19.99, Target.com are the perfect shade of lime green, ideal for spring.

+ Would you go green like Blake?
