Vinny and Pauly D in Italy

OK, not to get all emotional and blathering, but do you smell that? (They say olfactory senses are your most nostalgic...) Sure you do. If you pause just long enough, there it is. A hint of crisped, chemical hair gel. And then a note of cocoa butter-heavy suntan lotion. Or a top note of aerosol body spray. The smells of summer...and our favorite beachside respite, the Jersey Shore.

Bam. Season 4 is here in its fist-pumping, smushing, grenade-avoiding glory and we cannot wait to see what havoc the crew has reaped overseas. While The Situation, Snooki , Vinny, Pauly D, JWOWW, Deena, Ronnie, and Sammi aren't in Seaside for No. 4, they are getting in touch with their Italian roots over in the boot-shaped country. Ya heard? Which means, of course, this is the most major Jersey Shore season to date, and we figured that out using science. The science OF FASHION. It has been three full seasons of flip-flops and polyester tops, but our Jersey Shore veterans (even newbie Deena) didn't go to the heart of European style and come back unscathed. So while you are giving yourself a GTL refresher (by tuning in to the flashback show "From the First Fist Pump" today at 10 p.m. ET to relive each delectable high and low), peep how drastically our little beach bums have changed! JWOWW is a class act, Vinnie went all hipster on us, and Snooki continues to blow our mind on the regular. To track the transformation of each cast member, we have refreshed our killer Jersey Shore Style Evolution lookbooks with hot new images (plus the old ones of some of their familiar, classic looks). And to see where their styles are going (Hint: to a place where DREAMS AND PINK LEOPARD PRINTS RUN FREE), we've included some of the spankin' new, Euro-scented looks and outfits that'll definitely make Season 4 mind-searingly memorable.

Robert Pattinson's hair at the 2011 Comic-Con.

The HUMONGOUS NEWS at San Diego Comic-Con this year is NOT super-cute girl nerds in costume, OR rooftop swimming pool parties, OR onion rings for's this thing called TWILIGHT BREAKING DAWN and the fact that its leading man Robert Pattinson—the man with arguably the most awesome hair in the universe—has gone and shaved HALF HIS HEAD. We peeped his 'do straight from the Comic-Con hallway, and it is half-shaved. Like, he stopped mid cranium, put down the razor and was like, "Eh, I'm donezo here!" Twitter is exploding with reactions to RPattz's new hair, and, as of press time, we can confirm that his hair is NOT matted, but actually shaved. This a HUGE move for Robert, considering his flowy, life-of-their-own locks have always been his trademark.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at the 2011 Comic-Con.

The 8,500 Twihards inside Hall H were eager to peep exclusive footage of the new installment but they were also stoked about the prospect of ogling Robert's signature hotness in real life. So you can imagine their frothing, frantic dismay at his newly shorn aerodynamic state. In respect to them and in homage to the tonsorial beauty that he kindly displayed over the years, we present a history of R Pattz's follicles. And don't forget to watch Robert, Kristen, and the cast live from Comic-Con on MTV today at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

Lady Gaga

Oh, is it warm out there, Lady Gaga? Are you, perhaps, in need of a fan? Would you possibly be less toasty if you weren't wearing, say, shower curtains? Ok. Yes. They may not be fash-shower curtains (and we might not have even thought them to be for the home except for the fact that you are a YOU HAVE USED DRAPED HOUSEWARES BEFORE). But don't worry Gaga, we've got your back.

Chloe Moretz polo

Chloë Moretz attended the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Final in Midhurst, England yesterday and we have to hand it to her, the young actress turned it out in the most sublime, occasion appropriate pastel ensemble ever. While most of us would've been clean stumped were we invited to a fancypants polo match, Moretz simply shimmied into her pale, pale yellow, knee-length Giambattista Valli jodhpur/culottes and Rupert Sanderson shoes. And while the demure ensemble may seem a bit post-Pygmalion-makeover, Julia Roberts-in-Pretty-Woman-polka-dots-at-the-horse-track, our girl keeps it current and playful with the addition of bright sunnies and chains. Let's break down the science shall we?

Emily Browning's style evolution.
Photo: Getty Images

It was 2003 when we first spied Emily Browning, alongside fellow Aussie heavyweights Heath Ledger, Geoffrey Rush, and Naomi Watts, in the Irish-Australian tale Ned Kelly. We hardly noticed her playing the late Heath Ledger's younger sis, but then she landed the coveted role of the alluring Violet Baudelaire in Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events, where her dreamy looks and dramatic Victorian garb stole the show. Now, not only is she winning Hollywood over with her high cheekbones and cat eyes, but her continued appearance at fashion events worldwide indicates her star is rising on the red carpets as well. (ALTERNATE REALITY ALERT: She was also considered for Kristen Stewart's role in Twilight, which might have made Bella more fresh-faced and less brooding...but what is Bella without brooding?)

On top of being breathtakingly beautiful, a young Emily once aspired to be a fashion designer, which isn't surprising given her super-curated ensembles. Her quirky outfits belie a sense of maturity beyond her 22 years, borrowing hints of vintage and retro with prints, lace (a constant Emily staple), and then a bit of cheeky flair like bold lips or ruffled socks. And though she is still young and playing girl-power roles like Baby Doll in this year's Sucker Punch, she certainly gave more "established" style stars a run for their money when she appeared at the MET Gala's McQueen Opening wearing an exquisite high-necked gown by Marc Jacobs. We went absolutely bonkers over her grown-up red carpet steez, especially since Em's a pro at more low-key, relaxed looks.

Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe in July 2011.
Photo: Getty Images

• Wow. Was this week ever big. We were running around nonstop checking on our favorite graduating class of magical teens, meaning we got to check out what everyone was wearing at the Harry Potter premiere in London. It was ENCHANTING. Also, we peeped Emma Watson's super-cool dark 'do in Harper's Bazaar UK and we liked it ah-lot.

• Speaking of new 'dos, there was a load of beauty changes with Megan Fox becoming a beauty ambassador for Versace. She looks painted with watercolors and like she fell from a dream. Less official, though, is Miss Lauren Conrad dyeing her tips technicolor, adding some, er, color to her good girl behavior.

• Since they are now back from Italy, our favorite meat-heads (and lady meat-heads) have been seen around town sporting all sorts of Jersey fashions. Snooki's crazy leopard-print nails are super easy to do...or at least way less complicated than Snooks and Deena's painted-on tattoos. Never to be outdone, Mr. Pauly D carted around Seaside wearing a tee of his own design.

• And those crazy youngins are always up to something, impressing us with their preternatural know-how, like the lovely Elle Fanning (who is the new face of Marc Jacobs). We also spied a supermodel-in-training, Lottie Moss, who's big sister Kate basically wrote the book on being waifishly hot. Some still have a bit to learn, like math, because we deduce that Taylor Momsen + her fans = one whole outfit.

• And our ladies who have the game on LOCK keep us on our toes, like Miss Beyoncé, who just released the bridal-chic "Best Thing I Never Had" video. Supermodel Elizabeth Hurley is signed up for Gossip Girl, and fresh blood (i.e., Selena Gomez) might be inducted into the heralded style hall of Sex And The City. Sooo...we pair everyone up with their style twinsies!

• Oh, of course, there is always Lady Gaga news, and she blew our collective minds by participating in Lady Gaga Day. When half the world wasn't watching her hang out with kids who are cosplaying AS her, they are thinking about her—especially during Couture Week when half the world is biting inspired by her style.

After seeing Beyoncé stomp around with a troupe of hungry women in the post-apocalyptic wasteland in "Who Run The World (Girls)", it is easy to forget that the Houston singer is really a die-hard romantic. Bey probably still absentmindedly doodles B + Jay-Z = 4EVA and had her wedding day planned since she was 13. But don't get it twisted, it doesn't mean that Beyoncé isn't a realist. She knows what gnarly elements lurk out there, and in an ultimate kiss-off ballad to everyone else who is NOT married to her, Queen B sends out "The Best Thing I Never Had" with killer connubial visuals that knock us dead with the awesomely triumphant and HELLA SMUG-in-a-satisfying-way lyrics.

I mean, "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES BACK AROUND, HEY, MAH BABY!...YOU SHOWED YOUR ASS AND I SAW THE REAL YOU/THANK GOD YOU BLEW IT/THANK GAWWWD I DODGED A BULLET!" Sooooooo. Goooooood. The video shows the most beautifullest girl in the world in the Taxonomy of Important Dresses in a Lady's Life: Prom, Wedding, Reception plus the face-melting bonus round of getting to see the most luminous skin and golden hair in white lingerie EVER. Let's break it all down.

While one could cravenly focus ONLY on the fact that our bride is missing...erm...nipples, we're going to focus on the important stuff like how Bey looks marvelous. The softly lit room, the Agent Provocateur garter/teddy combo with the BANGING body is unflappable, and somewhere out there a ex-boyfriend of hers is shooting himself in the face. AS WELL HE SHOULD. Idiot!

At Jennifer Aniston's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles, California, on July 7, 2011.
Photo: WireImage

Certain guys, let's just say, guys like Jennifer Aniston's new squeeze, Justin Theroux (from Parks And Recreation or American Psycho) should always have one eyebrow slightly raised. It accentuates the slight shadiness of an over-pronounced widow's peak that, when complemented by a stark black-and-white ensemble, looks positively menacing. In a good way. A super-hot, dangerous way.

While Theroux had been getting a lot of flack for ending his 14-year relationship to date the Hollywood A-lister, our biggest source of bewilderment and sadfacedness had been attributable to his sporting scraggly facial hair of rando-homeless-dude proportions, denying us the pleasure of ogling both his fine features and a good-looking beard.

Things done changed.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
