It’s been almost 24 hours since the Met Gala “Punk: From Chaos To Couture” red carpet began, and we’re still spinning from all the studs and safety pins. We saw a ton of Givenchy, some vintage Valentino, some significant Stella McCartney and then, bursting from between the throngs of these famed designers, we saw five different looks from Topshop. Yep. That’s right—the Topshop that you yourself can afford to shop at. The most surprising part? We couldn't tell the difference between the high end and the high street.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: we are so into Nicki Minaj's new look. Gone are the days of loud neon prints and so-bright-it-could-blind-you wigs. The reigning queen of Young Money recently took a turn for the real, opting for a more "relatable look" that's both dressed down and cleaned up. Nicki kept her new look on lock when she walked the red carpet tonight at the Met Gala in a sleek navy blue Tommy Hilfiger gown. Baring some side ab with an on-trend cut out design, the "High School" hip hop star added dark red lips and matching nails to off-set her fierce platinum blonde—and VERY punk—hair. Part '70s style afro, part '80s crimped curls, Nicki paid homage to the gala theme with her 'do more than her dress. We're feeling the texture almost as much as we're digging those deep dark roots. Colorists are for clowns; give dem punks a bottle of bleach and a few months of grow out and you're ready to rage.

KIMYE ALERT. As soon as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian placed their pegs on the Met Gala red carpet for the kick off of the "Punk: Chaos To Couture" show, all of our eyes were on them. Partly because Yeezy has been known to rock the throw back punk uniform of the kilt, partly because what was girly girl Kim going to wear to rep the show theme? Well, here we are sitting pretty thinking we've got all things figured and—BAM!—the duo surprises us with some seriously unforeseen 'fits.

It'll come as no surprise that the love for Justin Timberlake is very much alive and kickin' in the MTV Style office. So when we jump online first thing in the morning and are blessed with a new performance of "Mirrors," this time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, you shouldn't be shocked when I tell you the video circulated around our office quicker than a JT hip thrust. Sure, it might be a little surprising that our responses ranged from, "STOP EVERYTHING" to "I love today" to my own, "I'm drooling on my desk." But can you really blame me? The dude of my middle school daydreams is back in full performance force and here I am, quivering in my chair, not unlike my eleven year old self at my first *NSYNC concert. (Dad, how will I ever repay you for that night? The eve that still stands as the greatest date of my life? Bless you.)

Prom is probably the most major of high school moments. The dress, the date, the dance… a night you’ll remember and reminisce over for the rest of your life. So, what could be better than prom? Erm, how about FIVE proms? Because that’s exactly what Kitty Pryde got. The Florida-born, New York based-rapper, who is currently on tour with another fashion favorite Danny Brown, may be young— but she’s got the smart rhymes and sharp delivery of a stage vet. Her first single, “Ok Cupid,” which was recorded on her laptop in her bedroom closet, was named #17 on Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Songs Of 2012, and “Orion’s Belt,” the catchiest of collabs with Riff Raff, is currently sitting at over 1.2 million views on YouTube. But before all the fame, Kitty was just a regular Daytona Beach babe, working at the mall and planning prom outfits. Like we said, the girl’s got experience. “I’ve gone a couple times with girlfriends, once with my gross ex-boyfriend, and most recently with my BFF Grant. He didn’t even become my BFF until I forced him to take me to prom like three days after I met him, but now we’re inseparable, so that’s the magic of prom for you.”
The time has come for us to talk tech. With prom inching ever closer, we want you feeling fully prepped when you step down the stairs and off into the night. Lucky for you, this kind of prep doesn’t require an over-sized purse packed full of electronics. Without totally dating us, when we were going to prom, we were forced to lug around our parents hulking huge digital cameras to snap quality pics. The added baggage was such a downer, especially when we were boogieing on the dance floor, but guys! It’s 2013! The future! And now most of us are lucky enough to be carrying around these amazing mini computers in our pockets. All hail the iPhone, the saint of communication and savior of quality mobile images (we heart Androids too!). With a little lipstick and your trusty phone stocked with these awesome apps, you’re good to go. Check 'em out below!

Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj.
The show may be over but the night is just getting started. After all, the Oscars are mostly about the after parties! A little bubbly, some dance tunes, a general sense of celebrity camaraderie, you know. At Elton John's annual fete, pop stars get to hang with Hollywood legends. For one night, all the cool kids get together to celebrate... and make us all sigh with a serious case of FOMO. How hard do we wanna be hanging with Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj right now?! Punk princess Miley rolled up to Sir Elton's AIDS Foundation fiesta in a backless white gown that gives us a perfect peek at her dream catcher torso tattoo. Bronzed cheeks and some serious bangle bling round out her glam look. The one accessory we're majorly missing? Her hottie fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Keeping with the unofficial winter white theme of the evening, Nicki ditched her usual uniform of Rainbow Brite inspired clothes and wigs for a beautifully beaded mini dress and fluffy, flowing mane.
Forever a babe, Zoe Saldana continued her red carpet reign at the Oscars tonight. Wearing a Alexis Mabille couture dress that was dripping with details, Zoe stopped to chat with Josh Horowitz and Janell Snowden about her glam look and its unexpected inspirations.
"I'm having a girl crush!" Janell exclaims, and we couldn't agree more. Twirling for the camera, Zoe shows off all the particulars of her pale grey gown. There's sequined appliques and lace cut outs on the bodice. There's floral stitching and there's a diamond encrusted belt buckle and there's a side bow and a slit and a train...*Phew!* Yet, somehow, Zoe's look is totally effortless. Her loose curls and super simple make-up allow the deets of the dress to really shine. But the outfit isn't even the best part! For that, you've gotta look to the girl's fingers. Rocking so much silver that her hands look heavy, Zoe gushes over the nine Neil Lane rings that dot her digits. It's quite a collection, complete with a sexy serpent, some classic oval cuts and, our personal faves, a few delicate knuckle bands. Zoe says all this bling is "honoring the pirate that's inside." If that's the case, well, yo ho, a pirates life for us!

Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra on the 2013 Oscars Red Carpet.
If you're just arriving to the party, Oscar night is in full swing and we're already singing the praises of how killer young Hollywood is looking on the red carpet. One of our all time faves, Kristen Stewart, looks so slamming in a Reem Acra pale blush gown. Guys, it's hand beaded! It's got pleated tulle inserts! It's got translucent details! Isn't it the dreamiest? It's no secret Kristen is a fan of sheer 'fits for the red carpet and we're so psyched she's continuing to rock the super sexy trend. The Oscar presenter has always been a star but her glam game has been extra inspiring as of late. How great is the vintage Fred Leighton necklace she's wearing? But even with all that sparkle, the accessory of the night isn't the jewelry...it's the crutches.

What happens when two of hip-hop’s hottest fashionistas sport the same look? We at MTV Style break down all the deets of each outfit, compare notes, and come to a unified decision about who wore it best. PSYCH! Like that ever happens. Fashion is all about personal preference, and our opinions in the office are as varied as the way we take our coffees. Therefore, we need your help to determine a majority rules re. today’s debate: Nicki Minaj vs. Iggy Azalea. Who wore the Jeremy Scott x Adidas coat better?
