When word got out about Design With Purpose, Gwen Stefani's new clothing line with denim king Michael Glasser, we got excited. Not too excited, though, because if we've learned anything about celebrity collaborations, it's that they love to tease us with plenty of promo looong before the product drops (*ACHEM* Nicki Minaj for Kmart, The Key by Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga's ARTPOP). And that's fine—we're used to it. But now, just days after Gwen's initial announcement, we're already getting some behind-the-scenes photos of DWP's lookbook shoot AND a promise that more will be coming soon. All of this with a projected spring 2014 shelf date? Gwen, you're spoiling us! *blushes*

Much like the government (according to the Gettysburg Address), the People's Choice Awards are of the people, by the people [and] for the people. They also officially kick off awards show season, aka that time of year when gawking at pretty dresses gets us through the cruel winter. From television and movie stars to daytime talk- and game-show hosts, all of Hollywood did one thing really well with their outfits at this year's PCAs: They reminded us that below-freezing temperatures didn't affect California. Oh, and also, that neutrals are trending. Wanna know who did it best? Check out our favorite looks from the 2014 People's Choice Awards below!

Las Vegas looks good on Britney, y'all! The Princess of Pop took a break from her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood to make an appearance (and accept her first PCA!) in a Mikael D pre-Fall 2013 dress covered with silver rose appliqué detailing. Ms. Spears accessorized with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Kotur bag, and Broken English jewelry. Very fun, but also mature.

Sky Ferreira for Redken.

That didn't last very long. A mere month ago, a flaxen-haired Sky Ferreira was announced as the newest face of Redken and quickly opted to return to her brunette roots for the occasion. (Well, mostly. Her brunette eyebrows got the bleach treatment. #rolereversal) But now, according to some behind-the-scenes photos from photographer Eli Schmidt, Ferreira's hair will be back to its bleach blonde ways for her first official commercial. (Her eyebrows, however, are brown again. If you're getting confused, just imagine how her scalp feels.)

Britney's been naughty AND nice.

Someone from the Britney Spears camp must have heard me singing "... Baby One More Time" in the shower yesterday, because they just hit us one more time with TWO new fragrances (and an accompanying ad) from the Princess of Pop, seemingly out of nowhere. (Thanks, Shower Song Gods. Next time, I'll give some One Direction a shot and see how that works out for me. #fivetimesthefun) Granted, the scents aren't ~totally~ new. They're more like two new twists on old favorite Fantasy, which you may remember has had a supporting role in MANY of Brit's music videos.

Rihanna and Kristen Stewart strip down for new ads.

SEE? We TOLD you the topless trend was happening. (Polar vortex be damned, apparently.) Two major beauty campaigns just dropped, and each ad features a shirtless star. First of all, props to anyone who dares to bare that much skin post-holiday binge. (Celebrities! They're nothing like us!) Second of all, my teeth are chattering just looking at these ladies. Granted, they no doubt had central heating wherever these shoots took place, but everyone else is talking about the weather this week, sooo when in Rome.

Miley wears Marc.

Miley Cyrus, never one to shy away from making a statement, decided to wear her heart opinion on her sleeves today in a pro same-sex marriage Marc by Marc Jacobs T-shirt. The top depicts a presumably lesbian couple in black dresses with their child in matching threads and reads, "I pay my taxes, I want my rights." Wanna know how we know for sure that it's Miley (besides the fact that she posted the pic on her Twitter #tongue)? The tell-tale tat on her left forearm. But mostly because #tongue.

Friendship is magic.

If nine-year-old you knew what present-day you knows now about fashion, what would be the one clothing item at the top of your wish list? A My Little Pony mini-dress, OBVIOUSLY. Rita Ora, whose rainbow-tinted hair sometimes resembles that of the equine dolls, was recently snapped in our childhood fantasy dress by Alice Vandy. Long-sleeved, colorful, and covered with ponies, the bodycon piece was designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the small, magical horses. You may be thinking, "An '80s toy/television franchise collaborating with a super-hip clothing line? That's crazy! What's next? DuckTales snap-backs? Fraggle Rock sneakers? David the Gnome-print luxury pajamas?" (Free ideas! Someone please roll with these, kthx.)

If you've ever wanted to dress like Gwen Stefani, pulling off her punky, polished look is about to become a whole lot easier (abdominal prep optional). After having stepped away from designing for L.A.M.B. in recent years, WWD reports that Stefani is ready to get back into the fashion game with the help of denim guru Michael Glasser (who's behind 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, and Rich & Skinny). But instead of continuing to focus on the profitable wardrobe staple that he's known for, Glasser says their label, DWP (Design With Purpose), actually aims to add a few new basics.

We'll be the first to admit that trying to make plans for New Year's Eve stresses us out: the 12-month anticipation, the unavoidable crowds, the ever-important, gotta-be-stunning outfit of the YEAR. OK, so maybe we're being a ~little~ dramatic, but with less than a week to prep your look after a month of holiday hustle and bustle, sometimes you just gotta reach into your closet and hope for the best. Of course, you also want to LOOK your best, so why not start with one of your tried-and-true basics? Instead of going full-on Toddlers & Tiaras, take what you know and give it a new life by adding a few easy-to-find pieces from your local mall. (And TBH, this is how WE plan to roll, so don't knock it till you try it.)

+ Necklace: Silk Road Falling Coin Necklace ($58)
+ Bag: Iconic Quilted Minaudière ($20)

The Little Black Dress: Chances are, you don't just have one, you have like, 100. It's the one wardrobe staple that every woman has been conditioned to own since the 1920s, when Coco Chanel made it "a sort of uniform for all women of taste." Give your little black dress a big night out on New Year's Eve with a Stevie Nicks-approved fringed kimono, velvet strappy pumps, a heavy metal statement necklace and a cross-body clutch for hands-free dancing.

Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf in 'Elf.'
Photo: Warner Bros.

This year, celebrities contributed an immeasurable gift to the greater good by making it acceptable to wear baby pajamas in public. Often long-legged, lined with fleece and sometimes in the form of an adorable animal, the onesie has been embraced by everyone from Justin Bieber to Beyonce. Hey, grown women deserve to be cozy and cute, too! Yet despite their growing popularity in 2013, we're pretttty sure that a few classic Christmas movies (like Elf, for example) ~actually~ tried to make onesies happen YEARS ago. But alas, no one paid attention—until now. Thanks for your help, celebrities! We'd definitely consider this a Christmas miracle.

I love these two as a couple. What a festive way to celebrate two important events in their life. Mariah looks like a dream.
