Rihanna has been busy teasing new video "Where Have You Been" for a little over a week with preview photos on Facebook, behind-the-scenes rehearsal videos and more. While we can't infer too much from these sneak peeks while we wait for the full-length video, it looks as though the actual garmentry will take a backseat in favor of statement accessories.

Kanye West Kim Kardashian matching shoes

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's matching Air Jordans, and Kim in L.A. on April 22.

It feels like the entire UNIVERSE is atwitter wondering if the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West dating rumors are true, and this weekend the twosome made some couple-y fashion choices that make us think they're a TEENY bit more than just friends. On Saturday, Kim Instagrammed a pic of her and Kanye wearing matching Air Jordan 3s complete with coordinating shiny black skinnies. Awwwww! We think this is ESPECIALLY interesting because, um hi, Ms. Kardashian is rarely spotted in sneaks. She's willing to ditch her heels to match 'Ye, and that's serious fashion dedication. The two spent the rest of day grabbing ice cream and stopping by Manhattan's Spice Market, according to MTV News, but when we looked a little closer, we noticed ANOTHER fashion homage to Mr. Kanye West—Kim was sporting "KW" initial earrings! Um, three guesses as to what that stands for. Even though Kim's sister Khloe says she doesn't think their relationship is serious, we can't really remember a time when we wore our friend's initials on our ears for all to see. But what do you think? Do you like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's couple-y style or is it over the top?

Nicki Minaj wears a leather harness while out in London, England.
Photo: Getty Images

About this time last week, we spotted Nicki Minaj wearing an outfit that can best be described as an arithmetic equation: sheer shirt + body harness - pants. It appears the formula has altered slightly, but the base of the sequence is still there. There remains a severe lack of pants, we're not sure what lies beneath the new addition of a squeaky looking Members Only jacket, and while there is still a harness involved, it has grown considerably. Perhaps Nicki reads the blog and really takes our trend pieces to heart which, you know, would be really flattering were it true. We just... IDK, we thought maybe we mentioned wearing these trendy harnesses with clothes underneath, not in substitution of them.

There are certain hair accessories (*cough* hair chains *cough*) where one should heed warning, but when chosen wisely, hair adornments like fascinators, fun headbands, or anything involving animal ears can truly elevate a look. Thanks to pop style slayers like Lady Gaga and her hair-o-dyanmics or Nicki Minaj and her penchant for bear hoodies, statement head pieces are making a comeback, and luckily our fave online shops are getting in on the action. Headed to a party in your little black dress? Pop some cat ears up in there. Going to an outdoor music festival in a tank and cutoff jean shorts? Tip it out in a mini feathered headdress. No need to worry your pretty little heads about which ones to choose, though, because we've done all the work for you…

CRITTER CAPS

ASOS Cat Ears Fascinator, Panda Sequin Hat, and Pom Pom Ears Cap.

This ASOS Cat Ears Fascinator Hat is what we're talking about where your black dress conundrum is concerned. Pin this purrrfectly jaunty li'l cap to the side of your head, add heels and a generous sweep of cat-eyed liner and you're guaranteed to stand out at a party. The ASOS Panda Face Sequin Hat would also do the trick, but we like the idea of wearing this with bright colored separates or with tailored menswear for a tricked out Janelle Monae kind of feel. But if you're into the sporty trend, try pairing your track suit with this super cute ASOS Pom Pom Ears Cap and platform sneaks as an ode to '90s ravers. Need more ideas? Right this way!

Dakota Fanning Hair Chain

Dakota Fanning at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival on April 17 in New York.
Photo: Getty Images

Let's get right to it. Dakota Fanning wore a super cute, hot pink structured mini cocktail dress to Vanity Fair's opening night party celebrating the Tribeca Film Festival. The hue of the dress, gentle blown-out blonde tresses, and neutral clutch and shoe game were spot on. SPOT. ON. Now, before I get all short-breathy and overcome with Victorian vapors that might require a fainting couch and mild dose of smelling salts, let me preface what might turn into a teensy-tinsy bit of a step-on-the-pulpit diatribe about hair jewelry with this very important fact: there is nothing wrong with hair accessories. I love 'em and have been known to throw some flowers in an updo or wear a headband that looks like a giant melted inkblot. There's nothing wrong with being playful or adventurous with your hair game. *exhales while folding hands together* But hair chains? This is an accessory I find ABOMINABLE.

Lady Gaga Circle Sunglasses

Lady Gaga on Saturday wearing sunglasses.
Photo: Via Lady Gaga's Facebook/Quay Eyeware

Lady Gaga CERTAINLY is a lady of luxury in her typically-couture ensembles, but over the weekend she posted a pic on her Facebook page sporting some actually affordable (!!!) sunglasses. That's right—Mother Monster wears killer retro sunnies that cost under $100. These matte black bad boys retail for $40 on QuayEyeware.com.au and come in five different colors, ranging from clear gold to speckled tortoiseshell to red and white color-blocked frames. (And we ALL know that color block accessories are huge right now.) We can think of 1,001 ways to wear these '70s-inspired specs, but Lady Gaga decided to pair them with a very First Lady-looking ensemble. She twisted her hair up into a messy beehive and paired her oversized sunnies with giant, '80s-era gold circle earrings and a gold button-up suit jacket. She kept her makeup minimal as she was heading off to dance practice on Saturday. She said, "Off to rehearsal! Running the show, my muscles hurt today. #NoPainNoGlory" Also, dudes, remember when Gags claimed she was going to "shut out all the noise" and go into hiding for awhile? Well, we hope this picture means she's comin' back in the public eye because—real talk—we miss her so much. Come back, Lady Gaga! We live for your street style aannddd basically everything you do. xoxo, MTV Style

Topshop Shopper Bag, Floppy Hat, and Drop Earrings; ASOS Color Block belt and Happy Socks Inca socks.
Photo: Topshop; ASOS; Madewell

Color blocking is one of spring's biggest trends thanks in part to another trend, sportswear, which was all over the runways. What we love about wearing bold blocks of color (aside from the whole infusion of cheerfulness to our otherwise goth-like winter wardrobes) is that it adds a bit of movement to a basic ensemble. It's also great for those of us who are into the whole mixed prints look but don't know if that stripey blouse will really look ok with a neon floral skirt. Enter color blocking! We recommend giving it a try through accessories. Topshop's Blue Structured Shopper Bag (above left) is the right balance of school/work functionality with blue and yellow modernism—the perfect accessory to accent that still-being-worn black dress. (Don't worry, we're still wearing ours, too. With tights. *sigh*) Topshop also has a Colour Block Floppy Hat in black and tan for those who shun color altogether but pair it with a pair of gold and yellow Circle Triangle Drop Earrings and a maxi dress, and you're good to go. Just want a dash of blockage? An ASOS Color Block Waist Belt in purple and red suede is great with jeans and a tee or try Madewell's Happy Socks in Inca print, instead, for something a bit more funzies. Need more options? We've got 'em!

Nubrella

Nubrella offers a hands-free umbrella option.
Photo: Courtesy of Nubrella

April showers may bring May flowers, but while you're trudging through the wet season to get to those springtime bouquets, you're going to need some serious weather-combating armor. For most people a simple umbrella will do the trick - one of the extra-large golf variety with a fancy handle or perhaps the sleek, compactible kind - but for others, those old-fashioned methods of precipitation protection just don't cut it. Sometimes you just can't be bothered with holding an umbrella. Like, what do I look like, Fonzworth Bentley?? Or maybe you want to ride your bike in the rain, but can't stand to be seen in a trash-bag-looking poncho (let's be real, only Bill Cunningham has the charm to pull that little number off). Whatever your reason, look no further than the Nubrella to make your hands-free rainy day dreams a reality.

Lana Del Rey Mulberry Bag

Mulberry is infamous for modeling their super luxurious bags after cool "It" girls of the moment. Who could forget that Alexa satchel bag inspired by Ms. Alexa Chung herself? We're still drooling over it, and when the announcement of their new fall 2012 bag hit the internet, our minds basically exploded—their latest addition was inspired by our FAVE resident cool girl Lana Del Rey! We couldn't have been more excited about their "Old Hollywood"-inspired Del Rey bag mixed with "an edgy sense of fun," and we were dying to know when it would hit stores. It was supposed to be released with the rest of their A/W 2012 collection, but apparently due to increasing demand, some bags are already starting to hit stores!

Beard Jewelry

Litter makes faux facial hair jewelry.
Photo: Courtesy of Litter

Litter may have only been founded in 2009, but their green status doesn't mean we're not already up on the envelope-pushing jewelry duo. Sisters Rachael and Mackenzie are known for pumping out unorthodox accessories like body chains and thumb holsters, and with Coachella right around the corner, it's no wonder Litter is bubbling up to the top of everyone's minds. If we had our druthers, we'd rock this cold shoulder and garter chain, like, every day. They're definitely not cheap (as they shouldn't be, hello, they're super unique!), so we have to reign in our object-lust before piling the entire collection into our online carts. And *achem* inventive as they may be, chief among the objects to get the discerning side-eye are Litter's various iterations of facial hair jewelry.
