Dudes. You have NO idea how excited I am to let y'all know that we are hiring a full-time editorial person. That person is either going to be an associate editor or an editor. I know it sounds all loosey-goosey to say "EITHER" and then to go ahead and tack on the understood parenthetical of "(commensurate with experience)" but we're BIG (huge, really) on making sure the right person gets hired even if the pedigree is a little on the green side or SUPER O.G. The job description as a whole, like, soup to nuts, is available online for your perusal so go to there.

We want a SUPER ORGANIZED dude or lady who can write/edit his/her face off and understands SEO, and whose brain gets really itchy when things aren't orchestrated in a synchronous manner. OH, and they have to get a major accomplishment high when they check things off their list and the editorial calendar is GLEAMING and they've read a bajillion news items from eleventy trillion sources. Please be fun to work with and bring candy once in a while, aaaaaaaaaand please don't email me or my boss directly. You can apply for the job here.

Oh, hay. We here at MTV Style are hardworking individuals. I know that because I am the sort of tired where your tear ducts feel spicy from lack of sleep and your knees crack every single time you get up from a chair. AHAHHAHAHHA wait, I just realized that could 100 percent be attributable to the fact that I am as old as the moon. Regardless, this serves as a housekeeping notice to let you, our dear readers, know that starting tomorrow we are all going on vacation. Like, ALL OF US. I know the internet will continue to barrel on in that punishingly voracious way that it does, to where it feels like the room is filling with poisonous gas, but in celebration of the holidays, mirth, booze, and rejuvenation we will only be publishing a post or two a day leading up to January.

In the interim, feel free to catch up on bygone posts, but please don't let our patch of the information superhighway grow over and be forgotten. Keep us in your hearts as we will with y'all, and happy holidays! Don't fight too hard with your family, eat way more than is necessary for a human being, drive carefully wherever you go, and we'll see you next year. Peas. xoxo

Our ecstatic birthday meows.
Photo: Getty Images

Once upon a time, MTV said, "Let there be light!" And by light, they meant strobes, with sequins, and in soft focus as to not show any of our frown lines. So we were birthed, naked and squirming, on to the infinitely warm cyberspace. One year later, we have shed our infant skins and have become toddlers, teetering our way on slightly precarious platforms through the internet.

In short, today is our birthday. The big oh one. So much has happened in our mere 365 days: We found out we were "Born This Way." We watched JWOWW go from Jersey to red carpet-ready... Jersey-style. We gasped in both excitement and fear when Emma Watson cut her hair (like most major changes, we've adjusted, and have grown to love it).

Because we are not one to revel in our own glory (our small, trembling lumps of glory), we've decided to give back to you, our reader. So we've made you some birthday gifs. But, MTV Style, you say, we thought you were writers? Where is the "T" in that previous sentence? Nope. Birthday gifs. In which we take our favorite stories since our inception and retell them in a single, perhaps jarring, gif form. And then, for kicks we have a couple of factoids to share with you to prove how much we've grown. (The answer to that: a lot.)

Soon, we'll be potty-trained and able to sit at the big kids table. But for now, we'll keep you up to date on the coolest fashion news PON DE WEB (which is, we like to think, what we do best).

1:56 pm - Hey guys, so I'm typing this from the cramped corners of our satellite MTV Style HQ on the Universal Lot and I'm flanked by 1 double espresso, 1 20 oz iced coffee and, of course, a can of Coke Zero. In short, I'm AMPED to get this live blog cracking. Or having a MASSIVE coronary. Which is fine (such are the sacrifices I'm willing to make for y'all), as long as I get to see R. Pattz FIRST. Oh, and for more behind-the-scenes movie award gossip check out our pals at Hollywood Crush who are live blogging their faces off.

2:04 pm - Oh, and in case you're wondering, I'm wearing Norma Kamali. And Jeffrey Campbell nude suede Litas. I can't do a non-platform for the THREE HOURS I'll be perched alongside Christian Siriano. Hmm... three hours? I should probably quit guzzling all this garbage what with caffeine being a diuretic...

4:17 pm - BRB. Gotta slather on sunblock and go golf cart it over to interview Lupe Fiasco.

6:29 pm - Zomg guys! Christian's heeeeeeere! We're posted up in the scorching heat. The papps are bananas.

6:31 pm - Red carpet to commence shortly. I wonder who's gonna be first. P.S.: Christian's wearing very glamorous patent leather shoes.

6:35 pm - Correction! Painted shoes! Shiny, aaaaand Dior.

6:36 pm - Brad Walsh tells us his double-breasted raw silk blazer is from his women's collection.

6:37 pm - Oooooh, the Twilight cast is trickling in!

You WILL have fun. You WILL mean it.

Hi internet! *Waves* I really like what you've done with the place *looks around, wipes chair absentmindedly with a hankie before sitting down.* So, there are many, many exciting changes afoot in our little corner of the information superhighway, namely the fact that we've got a whole new squad! I KNOW! You're already familiar with Chrissy, our stalwart production assistant/editorial assistant who is McGotes the wind beneath my wings, like, to where when I was flopping around cluelessly like a beached hammerhead shark she fed me milk shake through a squeeze bottle, kept the blog alive, and social-networked everything until I got my bearings and regained my strength. Plus, her nails, eyeliner, and shoe game were FLAWLESS the entire time.

Then, we added Gaby the PA/EA whose waist-length curls, button nose and total type-A personality we THOUGHT was total mean girl material until we realized she's a huge band nerd with a tireless work ethic whose strong back and perfectionist nature we could ABUSE and HAZE by making her do SO MUCH WRITING while cropping and HTML-ing her face off.

And now, with my latest CHAMPIONSHIP coup, namely the cherry picking of the bananasawesome Leila Brillson, formerly of Refinery29, Interview, and Switched (pour some out) it's a MUHFUGGIN' PARTY!!! Mwahahahreeeeer. And, if not a party, we're at least totally gassed and running around the office patting ourselves on the back and making sure everyone who's anyone in the building sees it. We're getting T-shirts made and maybe even satin jackets with EMBROIDERED "MTV Style" all in cursive and bedazzled that we are absolutely NOT going to charge to our corporate cards or anything... *cough* but the actual OBJECTIVE remains the same. We, along with our fearless boss, Sophia Rai, are dedicated to bringing you the best, brightest, LOL-iest, absurdest, awesomest style news in all of the universe. It's SO on. Oh, and write to us at style@mtv.com to talk to any of us. xoxo

Mew. Will. Love. Me.

Oh, heeeeey! Wow. I can't believe it's already my first day with you guys. My boss Sophia's already gone and written the most glowing report of my joining the team, so I'm convinced she's jinxed the whole enterprise so EVERYBODY GO HOME THE INTERNET IS CANCELED. Just kidding. Everyone knows the Internet is run by an network of telekinetic pygmy Persian kittens in outerspace, so I think this will be OK. Fun even.

Right? I mean, let's be all the way real. This is not cold fusion. We're dealing with things like crackle nail polish, bangs, cocktail dresses, bags, and shoes. Stuff that is nothing more than random articles of listless bric-a-brac... ZOMG I am just kidding. All of these things are crucial, and we will talk about them
with the gravitas and devotion they deserve.

In any case, I just hope this space will develop organically, find its voice, and get along with the rest of the online community—and bludgeon competitors to a bloody, wretched pulp of searing envy and bits of hair. SIKE. I just hope you guys like me. And that you'll bear with me while I splish around and figure out what I'm doing. Meow. First day. Who am I gonna even eat lunch with?

Mary H.K. Choi

I am thrilled to announce that Mary H.K. Choi will join the MTV Style team as senior editor on March 7. The prolific, whip-smart and much-sought-after Choi will lead efforts across MTV Style site editorial, video franchises, and social media platforms—all with her inimitable voice and style.

Mary H.K. Choi, currently a senior editor at Complex magazine, is one of the funniest, most engaging editorial forces on the pop culture landscape today. As documented in her "All The Young Girls" column for the New York Times Opinionator blog, after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Textile and Apparel, a fainting spell/Technicolor freak-out precipitated a career U-turn to a magazine job. Three years later, she became founding editor in chief of the revered ladymag Missbehave (RIP). When she hasn't been writing about music, girls, and trends, she's been taking on movies for The Awl and Wired, snacks for The Daily, comics for Marvel with "Lady Deadpool," and how "All Dudes Learned To Dress And It Sucks" for The Hairpin. I've made this required reading at the office. You think I'm trying to make a joke, but no, really.

So! Three cheers, high fives and warm welcomes all around. We can't wait.

Lauren Conrad will return to reality TV!

The 24-year-old The Hills and Laguna Beach reality star turned fashion designer confirmed her new gig today. And even better, it's going to be about fashion! The show will be a MTV documentary reality program about launching her latest fashion line, which she described earlier this year as "more boutique" in its aesthetic. "I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family," she told MTV News in a statement. "The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses."

She also confirmed the news during an interview with Ryan Seacrest today. Lauren Conrad told Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show that her new show will be "something very different," and will follow her career. As for her boyfriend, actor Kyle Howard, who starred on the now-canceled TBS show My Boys, he "will not be in it," she said. "I've always been open to doing reality again," she explained to Seacrest. "Just under certain circumstances. As long as you have a separation, then it works. You have your personal life, and you have work life; when they're combined, it's difficult."

Conrad also told Seacrest that filming will "probably start sometime in October" in Los Angeles, the same month her latest book Style by Lauren Conrad is due out. She also chatted with Ryan about her line for Kohl's, trends for high school students, and her books (listen to her here).

This show marks Lauren Conrad's first return to reality television following her exit from The Hills in 2009. Welcome back to MTV, Lauren Conrad!

Coco Rocha in Korean Allure's August issue.

Exciting news! MTV Style just confirmed that superstar model Coco Rocha will host the 2010 Video Music Awards Red Carpet Report for MTV.com on Sept. 12! Coco will lend her style expertise to the VMA red carpet and interview celebrities about their fashion for MTV.com. "Only the VMAs could drag me away from New York Fashion Week for one spectacular night in L.A.," Coco told MTV Style. "I can't wait to interview music's biggest stars about what they're wearing on the red carpet."

Coco Rocha, 21, is one of the top models of the moment. After being discovered in an Irish dancing contest in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada, four years ago, she started booking gigs right away — including the cover of Italian Vogue! Not a bad start, right?! Since then, her career shot straight up and up and up, as she landed on the covers of Vogue, Dazed & Confused and, most recently, this month's 25th anniversary issue of British Elle. She also has walked hundreds of runways worldwide, like Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Balenciaga, Zac Posen and more. And you'll recognize her face from a variety of advertising campaigns, like The Gap, Victoria's Secret PINK, Yves Saint Laurent, Rimmel London, Christian Dior and Dolce & Gabbana.

Coco Rocha is the first model host for MTV.com's Red Carpet Report. Previous hosts included Christian Siriano, Adrienne Bailon and Fonzworth Bentley.

+ The Video Music Awards airs live on MTV on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 9/8c. The MTV VMA Pre-Show begins at 8/7c. Tune in to Style.MTV.com and MTV.com to watch the Red Carpet Report With Coco Rocha on Sunday, Sept. 12!
