Earlier today, we drooled over Taylor Swift's sleek and sultry Elie Saab red carpet ensemble, but when she hit the 2013 BRIT Awards stage, we were surprised by her super covered-up look! She performed "I Knew You Were Trouble" in a high-collar white gown with lace cut-outs and IN-SANE geometric pleats. She sported a loose high bun and bangs with her modest frock until she decided to—drum roll—strip it all off! *fans self*

Breaking Down One Direction's 2013 BRIT Awards Red Carpet Outfits

Sure, we already tune into virtually every major awards show because we're red carpet fashion junkies, but with the 2013 BRIT Awards' swoon-worthy performance line-up (*cough* One Direction and Justin Timberlake), we had additional reason to keep track of the UK show's step-and-repeat. By now, we EXPECT the 1D dudes to pay meticulous attention to their coiffures, so the flawless red carpet hair is no surprise. What is surprising to us, though, is the attention to sartorial detail these boys are exhibiting for the BRITS. Perhaps it's the home court advantage at work here, but we think Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall, and Harry deserve a round of applause. And their outfits deserve a closer look. *wink* LEGGO!

Amy Winehouse's Father Wears Late Singer's Photo To The 2013 BRIT Awards

It's impossible not to get sad at the mere mention of Amy Winehouse's name, with her death a mere two years ago still pretty fresh in our minds. Amy's father, Mitch, has been keeping his daughter's memory alive through charity work, books, and countless appearances, his latest being on the red carpet of the 2013 BRIT Awards. Mitch took to the carpet outside of the O2 arena in London in a custom powder blue vest bearing the singer's photo. The image used is classic Amy: her wide eyes are painted with her signature swooped cat eye and her lips are bright pink and heavily-lined. You can also clearly see that she is wearing the Star of David pendent she was frequently spotted in (and that her mother now wears), and her trademark gold hoop earrings.

Taylor Swift, Jessie J, Emeli Sande And More Rock The 2013 BRIT Awards Red Carpet

We may be miles across the pond, but pesky things like distance and time zones and international programming limitations aren't holding us back from keeping close tabs on all the fashion comings and goings of the 2013 BRIT Awards (tonight their time, this afternoon ours!) in London. The stars have only just started to roll through, but they are turning it OUT for the mid-week awards show. There are still a few key players we're waiting on (namely performers Justin Timberlake and those One Direction cuties), but we're ALREADY seen a ton of great red carpet fashion. Most exciting for us so far? Taylor Swift shirking her go-to reds, golds, and whites, for a saucy BLACK number with see-through panels, Jessie J looking positively glamorous and near-unrecognizable in a plunging neckline cut to there, sleek hair, and soft feminine makeup, and finally our bb Emeli Sande looking smart in a tailored shirtdress and her trademark platinum pomp. 'The Hunger Games' Costume Designer Dishes On Inspiration And Jennifer Lawrence's Fire Dress In Exclusive Interview

The road to Oscar weekend has been a long one— we've already made pit stops at The Screen Actors' Guild Awards, The Golden Globes, and others along the way— but there's still one more celebration that needs to happen before all the movie madness goes down on February 24. We're talking about the Costume Designers Guild Awards, where the creative geniuses behind the coolest clothes in film and TV get honored for their work. Obviously this is a HUGE DEAL, so to get psyched up for the event, we'll be chatting with nominees about the stories, inspiration, and challenges behind some of our absolute favorite outfits. Kicking off the series is Judianna Makovsky, who crafted all of the outfits in The Hunger Games, from Katniss' hunting look, to Effie Trinket's candy-colored frocks, to that iconic fire dress. 2013 Grammys Fashion Recap: 2 Chainz Medieval Style, Rihanna's Classic Hollywod Glamour, And More [Video]

Can you believe Karlie Kloss? The woman is an alien, being able to go straight from the Grammys to LAX and open a show at New York Fashion Week all in the span of 24 hours. We're really in awe. We're also in awe of Editor-at-large Mary H.K. Choi, who woke up at the crack of dawn yesterday to bring us all of the Grammys red carpet action, from her Reformation romper, to Karlie's glam-squad routine, to all of the night's crazy looks. Whew. All in the name of fashion, though, right? And boy, did the red carpet ever deliver on that front. From 2 Chainz's Versace cape, which Choi said was "classic to the point of medieval," to Rihanna's classic, old Hollywood glam red gown that Kloss said "made her blend into the carpet" (in a good way) and Florence Welch's custom Givenchy which VH1 host Carrie Keagan said was "channeling her inner dragon," there was so much on the carpet to talk about, we knew we had to pull all of our hosts together to rehash it all. Rihanna, Beyonce, Florence Welch And More 2013 Grammy Beauty Looks You Can Steal

While the 2013 Grammys lacked both meat dresses and see-through lace gowns, the attendees didn't seem to follow that fashion advisory memo CBS sent out in hopes of curbing "inappropriate" nudity. They didn't actually think that, of all people, musicians would listen, did they? Even with side-boob and full leg exposed, the Grammys seemed a bit more tame and glamorous this year than in years past, and of course we could count on a lot of great hair and makeup. Below are some of my favorite beauty looks from the night along with tips on how to get the signature piece of the look.

RIHANNA

Dare I say best dressed?? Rihanna always looks good, but I'm not sure we've ever seen her look this glamorous. Her hair is to die for, but my favorite thing about this look is how perfectly her lips match her dress. To get lips as good as this, I'd recommend trying NARS Semi Matte lipstick in Jungle Red.

Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift And More Are Best Dressed At 2013 Grammys

Oh. My. Gah. The 2013 Grammys are officially over, and we have to say—this has been one of the best dressed events to date. Everyone looked so classy and cool in their simply chic gowns (and suits!), and we're still dying over it. Rihanna stunned us in a sizzling red number while Taylor Swift went the Grecian goddess route in a plunging white gown, but overall, we are super proud of our top 10 Grammy red carpet picks because they are just STUNNING. Check 'em out below!

BEYONCE IN OMAN YOUSEFZADA

We've already said so many words about Beyonce's Oman Yousefzada jumpsuit. How it reminded us of her leaked Vogue cover and how she and Hov were totes matchy-matchy. But it's the poised boss lady elegance of the look amidst all those wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen that lands her on our Best Dressed list.

Frank Ocean Channels Richie Tenenbaum For 2013 Grammys Performance

Umm. Is it just us or is Frank Ocean's 2013 Grammys performance look tooootally channeling Richie Tenenbaum (Luke Wilson)? Not to, like, completely debase Ocean's earnest live rendition of "Forrest Gump," but we couldn't help but see the resemblance to the brooding Wes Anderson character. This might also be because The Royal Tenenbaums are often at the forefront of our minds when refering to Frank because of his Instagram handle: francistenenbaum. Either way, seeing the two looks side-by-side really hammers the point home. Between the nautical striped sweatband and the light-colored suit (though, Ocean opts for a pastel yellow over Richie's tawny camel), the likeness is unmistakable, AMIRITE??

Rihanna Wears A Black Slip And Striped Crop Top For Her 2013 Grammys Performances

While it could be argued that Rihanna stayed on the safer side with that CBS nudity code in her red carpet custom Alaia dress, let's be real. There's NO denying the coverage— or lack thereof— when Riri took the stage. She first stepped out with Mikky Ekko to sing her single "Stay," dressed in a body-hugging slip dress also by Alaia. The pop star's been rocking the underwear-as-outerwear thing nonstop recently (coughTerryRichardsoncough), but her initial stage look was simple, chic, and no frills...much like the stripped-down performance itself. But don't worry, y'all! Obviously it was only a matter of time before Rihanna sent audience hearts racing (and people at home WILLING for a wardrobe malfunction) in her crop top and striped skirt combo during the Bob Marley tribute with Bruno Mars and Sting.
