Nicki Minaj Debuts Campaign For Lavender MAC Viva Glam Lipstick!

You KNOW it's going to be a fantastic day when you're greeted with an image of Nicki Minaj as soon as you turn on your phone to check Twitter first thing. Maybe it's her kooky blonde hair, her yellow bathing suit or her sunshine-y smile, but leave it to Nicki to banish that early morning bleary eyes, foggy brain, and bad mood pretty much IMMEDIATELY. After all, pop stars floating in a pool of purple lipsticks= SO much better than coffee, right?! It's all part of her brand new MAC Viva Glam campaign launching early next year, and we couldn't be more excited. While her former Viva Glam partner-in-crime Ricky Martin was busy working on his own super-smooth lip conditioner, our girl had a solo project of her own in the works. She's trading that Barbie pink lipstick of last season for purple and launching a lavender shade in February. World, are you ready for this?!

Bonnie "Prince" Billy Launches Signature Scent With Sanae Intoxicants

I've spent more hours than I would like to admit listening to Will Oldham, a.k.a. Bonnie "Prince" Billy, ~~rocking back and forth and sobbing~~ imagining what the woodsy singer smells like. Ok so maybe not, maybe I was doing that other thing (but we're not gonna talk about it, ok?) but when I saw that luxury fragrance maker Sanae Intoxicants is releasing a scent with Oldham, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Oldham is a legend, not just for his work as Bonnie "Prince" Billy but also as Palace, Palace Music, and Palace Brothers. In his various incarnations he has created some of the most breathtaking and heartbreaking music, while bending genres and always keeping listeners guessing. With a punk rock approach to classic American folk music, Oldham is a new breed. As such, it's hard to imagine just what such a man would want to smell like. I asked a friend what she thought, and, being totally on my wavelength, she said "beards and tears," but I think it's so much more than that. According to the description of the scent, this isn't some Bon Iver-y woodsmoke, fresh snow, and beard oil, chopping firewood and being romantic fragrance. No, with tobacco, jasmine, and an ingredient we're unsure about called assam oud (which appears to be an oil extracted from agar wood), the scent, we think, without having yet smelled it, resembles the olfactory profile of a summer night spent outside, surrounded by lush plants, in a quiet moment during a raucous adventure. Like Oldham's music, there's nothing cruncy-sounding about the scent, and it's far more sophisticated than simple. Just the combination of tobacco and jasmine is enough to have us totally intrigued, as is the fact that the scent is suitable for both men and women. Yep, it's true—2012 is almost over, and, gosh, what a fashion-filled year it has been! From the breathtaking magazine covers to the oh-so-shocking haircuts to the incredible red carpet dresses, there certainly wasn't a dull fashion moment over the past 12 months. We can't say seeing the words "Rihanna" and "nude" in such close proximity is all that unique or shocking. Between her latest GQ cover, her Unapologetic album art and her many topless Instagram pics, it's almost more unusual to see the girl in clothes nowadays, making the fact that her latest perfume release is named "Nude" even more fitting. The newest addition to Rihanna's suite of fragrances is now available in Macy's stores nationwide, but we got our hands on it via Maud Deitch's 777 tour swag bag. Dying to know what the new Rihanna scent smells like? We took a sample of it around the office for another one of our patented blind smell tests to get you an unbiased answer!

Ricky Martin Talks MAC Viva Glam, His Lip Conditioner, And World AIDS Day [Interview]

Breaking news that you already knew: Ricky Martin is really really hot. Nothing makes that more undeniably clear than sitting with him in his Evita green room with five other journalists, all enveloped in the BEST smelling, perfectly humidified air for a The Bachelor-style group date (or round table interview, whatever you prefer to call it *hair flip*). The cause for the mid-week a fairytale moment? Ricky's involvement with MAC Cosmetics' Viva Glam campaign and World AIDS Day (which is Saturday, December 1 a.k.a. tomorrow!). Last night, the Broadway star/philanthropist obliged us all with a few moments before showtime to discuss the collaboration and what it means to him.

The One Direction Perfume Is Actually Happening!

When we first heard that One Direction might be creating their own perfume about a month ago, we didn't want to get our hopes up TOO high about the project just in case it never actually happened. But now we can officially commence the freakout, because the news is confirmed! WWD reported this morning that the boys have landed a deal with Olivann Beauty for their very first 1D scent. They've done an impressive job keeping it a secret, since Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall, and Louis have been working, brainstorming, and crafting ideas for about six months(!) on the project. Pssst: hear that steady, high-pitched sound? Yeah, it's the excited screaming that we imagine is happening from girls all around the world right this second...and you can bet it's going to get a LOT louder when the perfume hits stores next fall.

Around these parts of the Internet, Chrissy Mahlmeister is our resident Commander-in-Chief of all things Jared Leto. From his recent absence of eyebrows to his one-time mullet and difficulties with knits, she has it all committed to memory and organized in pristine little Oxford manila tab dividers. HOWEVER, given my preoccupation with the style world's bizarro underbelly (Ex. RIP Jared Leto's Eyebrows, We'll Miss You

Um, Jared Leto? Is that you? *rubs eyes* Today when Terry Richardson posted pics of the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman on his blog, we barely recognized the typically scruffy-faced singer slash actor. He shaved off his ENTIRE FACE, people. Beard, mustache, brows—the whole shebang, and we're still in shock. Before you start to get worried, though, he ditched his facial fuzz for a role in Dallas Buyers Club, so we gotta give props for his serious dedication to the craft. *golf claps* In October, Jared sported a full beard and brow-age with the same slicked-back hair, but he gave off a more approachable, chic-woodsman vibe (if that's a thing). Today, his chiseled jaw is in FULL effect with a only a smudge of eye makeup below his lower lids. We have to admit we kinda miss those fuzzy bad boys framing his baby blues oh-so-perfectly.

Get Alexa Chung's Black Leather Nails

As the nail art scene continues to grow, we're certainly seeing no shortage of fun textures to play with on our tips. We've already tried colorful caviar nails, fuzzy velvet manis, and now—drum roll—comes leather! We were tipped off to this amazingness thanks to Alexa Chung. She tweeted, "Aaaaannnnnndddd thanks @nailsinc for my leather nails! #kinky" to which we IMMEDIATELY hopped on Google to find out what "leather nails" actually entailed. As it turns out, leather nails TOTALLY exist, and it comes in a easy-to-apply packaged set to try out ourselves. Eeeee!

Justin Bieber's Girlfriend Fragrance Gets A Commercial

While the status of Justin Bieber's IRL girlfriend may be up in the air, J.Bieb's Girlfriend perfume is rock steady and gets a press reboot just in time for the holiday season *WINK* with its very first commercial! Where Girlfriend is the "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" next-step from Bieber's Someday debut scent, the ad spot for the new fragrance is similarly more mature. It's not mature in, like, a Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Burberry Body way. We just mean that Bieber and the new fragrance take one appropriate, teenage-sized step away from Someday and its whispered promises and luxury ice cream sundaes.
