When we think of Lorde, one thing (other than the lyrics to "Royals") pops into mind: that hair. Sure, she pulls off goth-inspired style and dark lipstick insanely well, but that curly mane is kinda her thing. Even though we've seen it matted down and pinned back on the cover of Clash magazine, we were still taken aback when we peeped her video for "Team" and her signature curls were M.I.A.
From what we can see in the few (and dark) shots of Lorde in the video (wearing a Zana Bayne leather harness, BTW), she seems to have braided her hair into cornrows and tied it into a ponytail at the nape of her neck. When we chatted with Lorde a few weeks ago, she revealed the secret to her hair was not washing it frequently which, TBH, we can get behind. Good news for Lorde (and us, as Lorde worshippers): Cornrows don't need to be washed that frequently either! A new style to add to our encyclopedia that doesn't require maintenance? Sign us up!
Rad Nails x Sleigh Bells

One of the things most frequently associated with rock 'n' roll is nail art. JK. Well-manicured digits are hard to maintain when you're thrashing a guitar, but it looks like nail art has finally made its way to the merch table anyway—thanks to Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss and Rad Nails (founded by MTV Style alum Chrissy Mahlmeister, NBD *hair flip*). With the help of her nail artist, Ria Lopez, Krauss has designed a killer set of custom nail wraps inspired by Sleigh Bells' most recent album, Bitter Rivals, and we are PUMPED.
"I had loved what Chrissy was doing," Krauss told Nylon, "and one day I was brainstorming with Ria about how we could incorporate band merch that was also really friendly to women. I think merchandise tends to be a very male-dominated world, and a lot of girls come to our shows. I wanted to do something for them that's different than a T-shirt or a tank."

Don't worry, Selenators, Selena Gomez didn't actually cut her hair! It does kinda seem like she's toying with the idea, though, unless she's attempting to create a Sasha Fierce-esque onstage persona for herself. I mean, early in November, Flaunt magazine released those pictures of her with a blunt bob, and now, almost a month later, she's performing wearing a very similar wig. Or maybe the same one? IDK, maybe she "borrowed" it from set. We would be all for the drastic 'do (you know we love us some may-jah hair news), but we ALSO can't forget the follow-up video to her Flaunt spread, where short-haired Selly was searching for her longer-haired self.
Selena hit the stage in Dallas in a white bralet/hotpants combo similar to the outfits she's been wearing all tour, but her hair was noticeably, like, 10 inches shorter. We would've thought she cut her hair for real, but an hour earlier, her mane was its usual glamorous length.

HEY, MEN. Want long, luxurious locks like Harry Styles? You're in luck! Great Lengths, a British hair extension company, has a line of "Men-Hancements" (LOL), which the men of London are using on the regular. British men are so into extensions that the company says that men will account for 10% of their sales this year. That's a lot of "men-hancements," y'all!
The site has pictures of models and men who decided to "men-hance" themselves and, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of them come close to approximating the undone, voluminous coiffure that's now signature to Harry. That hair, with its front height and side curls cannot (and should not, IMHO) be attempted by anyone else: we saw that last week in the One Direction ad for Macy's.
Justin Bieber released the short film for his new fragrance, The Key, this weekend—and from what we gather, once you purchase said perfume, the Biebs has full license to break and enter your room without any legal implications. Don't say we didn't warn you. Of course, if you like the idea of Justin waking you up at 3am on a Tuesday to go look at taxidermied animals and dance on a rooftop, then you're in luck. Maybe still sleep with a bat under your bed just in case, though. JK! No need to be scared. Justin Bieber will only sneak into your room to do fun things, according to his film.

Ever underscoring that she's Princess Doing-Everything, Rihanna wore a Dominican doobie wrap and pins to accept her award for top R&B Female Artist—the hairy hair-cap most black women tend to reserve for the ride to the salon—paired with a goth mermaid look (custom Jean Paul Gaultier sequined-sweetheart bralette and matching mini cascaded with lace, BTW). The coiffure seems to be a deliberate accessory to the #ghettogoth steez she's been riding so hard lately (to the chagrin of Ghe20 Goth1k originator Venus X) and another entry in the recent pantheon of "hood accessories" incorporated into high fashion. (See: the proliferation of house slippers and socks in these streets, including Miley Cyrus, via Phoebe Philo.) Twitter was mostly beside itself, underscoring the importance of bringing visibility and power to every aspect of black hair, often immersed in politics. As writer and cultural critic Sydette Harry (@Blackamazon) tweeted, "@Rihanna is what happens when [West Indian women] get enough money to not be able to google a f*** to give. I.LIVE.FOR.IT."
Step aside, Angelina's right leg. There's a new show-stealing limb in town and it belongs to Gwen Stefani. More than a month after announcing that she'd be collaborating with OPI on her very own nail polish collection, Stefani flashed some majorly toned leg in one of two new promo pics posted on Twitter. Hey baby, hey baby, HEY. Both shots are totally drenched in a deep, rich red—from her dual-slit, Asian-inspired gown to her lips, nails and the background itself. It's striking, for sure, but it also happens to be the line's signature shade: Over & Over A-Gwen. SO PUNNY!

As you may recall, One Direction released their first fragrance, "Our Moment," last summer. (I remember this every morning as I spray all my clothing with the sweet nectar.) Well, the boys and Macy's have just released a NEW video for their Black Friday sale and, well, despite being only 30 seconds, it's very insightful. There's a lot to learn from this commercial.
The video opens with the members of 1D gathered around a perfume display case of "Our Moment" as they arrange the pink boxes. They're (once again!) coordinated in black, white, and red and, TBH, look comfortable working in retail. TANGENT: What if you walked into a store and someone who looked even slightly like Zayn Malik was helping you buy perfume? You would faint, and then, YOU'D GO BACK TO THAT STORE EVERY DAY. YOU'D BUY EVERY PERFUME EVER MADE. The actual members of One Direction better get out of Macy's before Black Friday, though, because they can't afford to have their faces trampled on.
