We've been taking the month of December to pour over the best, biggest, and most '90s fashion moments of 2013. Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? NO. Hence all the reminders. But a fresh start never hurt anyone. As we bring 2013 to a close, we've enlisted our old friend Jarvis Derrell of #shehashadit to help punt the past 365 days clear into tomorrow. Kweens, may we present to you: #2013hashadit.

The year of two thousand and thirteen came bearing gifts of gold, going shirtless, and Beyonce, but right now, we're focusing on GOLD. Here are five of our favorite pieces of golden glam we added to our closets this year. *sits down*
Jeremy Scott's gold Adidas Originals Teddy Bear sneakers.

Jeremy Scott kicked off the holiday season with a tinsled bang this November, dropping gold and silver versions of his iconic teddy bear sneakers as part of his ongoing collab with Adidas Originals. These sparkling beauties feature open-armed teddy bears and matching gold laces, glinting and gleaming atop glittered gum soles. Glitter in the sole = glitter in the soul. Add that sparkly stuff to anything and watch how quickly it becomes my beary fave. *ba dum TSH*
It's hard to believe that in early 2013 Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her tour and undergo hip surgery. It's even harder to believe that she flew beneath the radar while she recuperated and it wasn't until late July that she emerged and, subsequently, crammed a whole lotta fashion into the end of this year. The past five months have been full of uncomfortable footwear, unique accessories, and outfits only Lady Gaga would consider appropriate for 10-hour flights. Though she largely mixes up her looks (like, hourly, amirite?), there are actually some common elements her ensembles, and we've found them and rounded them up for your viewing pleasure.
Now, without further ado, what Lady Gaga wore in 2013:
5 APPLICATIONS OF WHITE FACE AND BODY POWDER

If you hate when your sunscreen isn't rubbed in entirely, this pale look probably isn't doing much for you. Gaga wore white powder all over her face, arms, and legs in varying levels of opacity throughout the fall. If any gymnasts need a better grip but are out of chalk, just find some of Mother Monster's clothing and rub your hands along it. Problem solved!
8 designers' favorite concerts of 2013.

In 2013, music and fashion were more intertwined than ever. There was a ton of collaborative energy between the two worlds, from designers creating custom tour wardrobes for musicians (see Givenchy x Rihanna, Calvin Klein x Drake, Maison Martin Margiela x Kanye, Tom Ford x Justin Timberlake—the list goes on) to artists designing for brands (Nicki Minaj x Kmart, Rihanna x River Island, Kanye x A.P.C., Drake x Nike, Alison Mosshart x Surface to Air, etc.). There was also a bevy of fashion week musical performances—and in, a few cases, musicians even subbed for models. Which is all to say, there was A LOT to keep us busy at MTV Style over the past 365 days. To celebrate the year music and fashion became even better friends, we asked some of our favorite designers to share with us the best concerts they saw in 2013.
CREATURES OF THE WIND
We saw Goat at the Empty Bottle in Chicago. We first heard about them from our friend Sheba, the queen of Chicago indie. They have an insane stage presence, and the show was a fully psychedelic experience. A real, full-on rock show in a tiny venue. The whole band wore full face masks throughout the entire show, from start to finish.
It would have to be The Postal Service's last ever concert at Lollapalooza. I have loved the band since it first came out when I still lived in Canada. And it reminded me of being a teenager singing ridiculously badly in the car. The fact that it was their last concert kinda symbolized a real official end to that part of my life.

This year, celebrities contributed an immeasurable gift to the greater good by making it acceptable to wear baby pajamas in public. Often long-legged, lined with fleece and sometimes in the form of an adorable animal, the onesie has been embraced by everyone from Justin Bieber to Beyonce. Hey, grown women deserve to be cozy and cute, too! Yet despite their growing popularity in 2013, we're pretttty sure that a few classic Christmas movies (like Elf, for example) ~actually~ tried to make onesies happen YEARS ago. But alas, no one paid attention—until now. Thanks for your help, celebrities! We'd definitely consider this a Christmas miracle.
Hear that? *cups right hand to ear and furrows brow, looking longingly into the distance* That's the sound of 2013 slipping away, right through your fingertips. *WOMP WOMP* We hope we've been helping you rehash all the biggest and best moments in FASHUN that this year has had to offer (before whatever havoc you raise on New Year's Eve officially erases it all from your memory), from everyone who went topless in 2013 to our favorite things that Kanye said. Now we're recapping everything you might have missed from the world of sports, which saw its most style-conscious year yet. (Sadly, we had to leave out that time Dennis Rodman had all of the fun at Miami Swim Week.)
THE LEBRON NO-HEADBAND GAME
The 2013 LeBron Headband Game.

Once upon a time, there was a power forward named LeBron James who was rarely ever seen playing without his terrycloth headband. One day, during the sixth game of the 2013 NBA Finals, his Miami Heat played against the San Antonio Spurs and his headband fell off. What followed was one of LeBron's greatest games of all time. It was henceforth known and written into the history books as the LeBron James No-Headband Game.
Wanna know what your favorite pop stars WON'T be putting on their Christmas lists this year? Shirts. Why? Because they hate them. JK! Hate is a strong word. They just prefer not to wear them all the time. And based on the way some celebs have been stripping down recently, going sans shirt isn't just for the beach anymore—it's a full-blown, anytime trend.
"Once, in the long-gone Mad Men days, it was considered de rigueur for New Yorkers to wear a hat and gloves in town," wrote Guy Trebay in a New York Times column last July, commenting on widespread shirtlessness. "Now dress codes have devolved to the point where folks wear fleecy slippers on the subway, flip-flops to the ballet, running tights for every occasion, repurposed pajamas as daywear and, recently, very little at all." First of all, what's wrong with wearing running tights for every occasion? Second, people are wearing flip-flops to the ballet?! Now THAT is cray. I feel much less embarrassed about showing off my new hamburger-shaped pasties at work. KIDDING, of course. Because much like the curtain skirt, walking around without a shirt is definitely a celebrity-centric trend that's best left to the professionals. Let's take a look to see how they've tackled it this year, shall we?
Selena Gomez and Siva Kaneswaran are so happy they won our readers' poll!

The winners of our readers' choice poll for best dressed female and male artists of 2013 have been crowned. Congrats to Selena Gomez and Siva Kaneswaran! The Selenators and TWFanmily have
spoken clicked and voted their faves to the top.
It wasn't an easy road: Selena and The Wanted's Siva faced serious competition from the likes of Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Zayn Malik. It was a nail-biter, y'all! Siva and Selly laid low for the beginning of the competition, but thanks to their fans who voted thousands of times, they were able to cinch the top spots late in the game, edging them ahead of everyone else by six percent and four percent, respectively. Considering what fashion-filled years these two singers have had, though, it's not hard to see why their fans were so determined to win.
Kanye West was full of fashion-centric quotables this year.

Aside from the birth of his first child, an epically romantic proposal to girlfriend/baby mama Kim Kardashian, and releasing one of the most critically debated albums of the year, which was then accompanied by a massive, production-heavy national tour, 2013 was kinda quiet for Kanye West, amirite?? I mean, like, we BARELY heard a peep outta the guy! *pauses for effect, then busts up in belly laughs* NAAAHHHHTTTTT. If anything, we've never heard so much of Yeezy. Especially on the topic of fashion.
Ye's year-long commentary on/battle with the fashion industry has kept us busy for the duration of 2013. Between lyrics likening his experience putting together his own line to picking cotton and others that publicly acknowledge Forever 21, Mr. West gave his
2 infinity cents on the subject of style, and we've distilled the stand-outs.
