We'll be honest—we basically flipped our LID when we found out that Kristen Stewart was the face of Balenciaga's new fragrance. Whenever the Twilight star gets involved in the fashion world, straight-up magic always happens. I mean, um, haiii, have you seen her W mag cover? *swoon* Since the big news was released, K Stew has uncovered SO many more deets including the name of the fragrance (Florabotanica!), the inspiration behind the Steven Meisel-shot campaign, and, yes, even the ad itself in an interview with WWD. Lucky for you, we plucked out all the best parts from the piece, so check out the highlights below!
KRISTEN STEWART ON WEARING PERFUME: “On a base level, the reason you want to wear a fragrance is because you want to smell attractive. That in itself is a pretty mature idea, especially considering the teenager I was. I was never the one wearing my mom’s perfume and trying to be sexy. I was like hanging out with my brothers and doing the opposite of that."
KRISTEN STEWART ON THE FLORABOTANICA FRAGRANCE: “I’m very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière]. And I’m a terrible liar. There is something natural about it. It’s very alive. I think that as a young person wearing it—considering that I’ve never worn a scent—it kind of puts you on this level of, like, ‘Whoa, check me out.’”
