Can you remember a world before "Call Me Maybe?" Whether your answer is yes or no, you probably don't want to. The infectious, VMA nominated tune has permeated every corner of our summer, as has its heavy-banged, cute as a button singer Carly Rae Jepsen. With her debut album heading toward its release date like a juggernaut and a place on Justin Bieber's "Believe" tour, Carly Rae shows no signs of stopping her total pop domination. it was for this reason that we weren't even a little bit surprised when we heard that the Canadian chanteuse had teamed up with retailer Wet Seal for a collaboration that takes the usual campaign to the next level. Beyond just starring in the brands campaign images, sporting super cute fall must-haves like printed pants, an elevated moto jacket, and bright, eye catching pumps, the star is also partnering with the company on a super amazing giveaway which, among other things, scores the winner a phone call from the singer herself, maybe. If anyone has figured out how to have it all, it's Leandra Medine. The 24 year old blogger behind The Man Repeller has a successful online brand, partnerships galore, AND she just tied the knot (in an incredible dress, we might add). When we heard that Leandra was going to be joining Tavi Gevinson and Cyndi Lauper as a model for Uniqlo, we were beyond excited--the Japanese basics retailer is definitely not what we think of when we think Medine, as her style everything besides basic, but then we remembered that everyone has to wear jeans, right? When Fashionista interviewed Medine about the campaign, she revealed a collaboration vetting strategy that we can totally get behind: "I always and only ever do collaborations with brands that I would work with even if there was no compensation involved," Medine said, adding, "and Uniqlo is one of my favorite, favorite brands." Super cool in style AND in ethics
Quick, tell us! Is this dynamic duo the odd couple of the moment OR just two of a kind? Well, judging from Iggy Pop and Daisy Lowe's identical cheeky expressions in the Fall/Winter 2012 ad campaign for Eleven Paris, we're going to have to go with the latter. The rock icon and British model worked it in front of the camera for the Parisian label, hamming it up (tongues out and all) for the black and white photoshoot. Given the pair's rebellious rock n' roll history- Iggy's the frontman of Iggy and the Stooges and Daisy's the offspring of musicians Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe- you didn't REALLY expect them to just smile and say "cheese," did you?! After all, that wouldn't be nearly as fun.
It's official: the world can't get enough of Lana Del Rey. And for good reason, considering the sultry New York singer's working the total package- her signature smoky voice, retro good looks, and seriously covetable street style (winged eyeliner and sky-high bouffant included). She's already rocked the fashion circles with a namesake Mulberry bag, more magazine covers than we can keep up with, and a brand-new H&M campaign. Now she's fronting another brand, but it's definitely NOT what you'd expect. Just this morning it was announced that the musician is the newest face of Jaguar- yep, the car company.
Attention, Internet. *taps mic two times* Beyonce has unleashed a fashion Easter egg in your midst! This afternoon, the "I Was Here" singer revealed the campaign for House of Dereon's Fall 2012 collection, and it is suuuuuultry. Reminiscent of Bey's own fashion-packed "Run The World (Girls)" music video, the campaign shots picture her walking hard across a sandy, cracked desert floor in her latest designs like this here belly-baring, flirty femme fatale ensemble - the ingredients of which are all available for purchase right NOW!
The 2-minute short is soundtracked with LL Cool J's scratch and brass-heavy "Going Back to Cali." The nostalgic track is just bare enough to let Karlie's wardrobe of colored furs and gem pave safety pins shine but to also punctuate her badass beach rampage. Last month, we confirmed that Lana Del Rey was indeed going to be the new face of H&M, and now the brand has made the full campaign--or the images at least--available for all of us to feast our eyes upon. The holiday campaign shows a sumptuously styled Lana posing against a stark grey background with rich maroons, velvet, and cream accents making her look like a cozy beacon in a chilly storm. Isn't that exactly what fall fashion should be: a relief from the encroaching cold? We love it. Now, where's our e-commerce at, H&M? Just asking. We also got a little bit more info on the long-form video portion of the ad, which features Lana singing "Blue Velvet." The piece, which will be available in its full-length form on H&M's website on September 19th, will also be edited to be used in television commercials.
Rita Ora may still be relatively new to our ears stateside (the girl hasn't even released her debut album yet!), but she's already secured herself a comfy place in Jay-Z's Roc Nation crew...not to mention, major MVP status on our iPods. We haven't stopped playing "How We Do (Party)" ever since the singer first debuted the single way back in February. And once we discovered that the 21-year-old has style that's just as crazy-cool as her music, she's become one to watch in the fashion world, too. So is it really any surprise, then, that NEXT Models- the same agency that reps Lana del Rey, Ellie Goulding, AND Alice Glass- has now snagged Rita for their roster? Between Lana for H&M,Solange for Madewell, and Azealia for Alexander Wang, it's been a summer FILLED with music-fashion mashups...and it's only a matter of time before Rita hops onboard.
It's been over TWO MONTHS since Selena Gomez started teasing this new Dream Out Loud commercial for her Fall 2012 campaign, but finally (FINALLY!!), we're able to set eyes on the final product. As we saw in the behind-the-scenes sneak peek Sel revealed late last month, the 30-second spot follows our girl through three stages of an epic California road trip. Miss Gomez peels off solo dolo for this particular venture (all the better to showcase the new togs, duhhhhh) and travels from the desert road to a surf-friendly beach to a midnight highway lit by fireworks, all to the tune of her smash single "Hit The Lights".

It seems like just yesterday when we announced that P!nk was the latest addition to the Covergirl roster (okay, it was last week, but still...). However, turns out the beauty giant isn't quite finished yet- Covergirl has ANOTHER music industry darling up its sleeve. Yesterday the company announced that Janelle Monáe would be joining the ranks of Drew Barrymore, Taylor Swift and P!nk as the brand's latest face. The ads, which premiere in the September issue of VOGUE magazine, showcase Miss Monáe working her trademark retro bouffant, rosy cheeks, and some statement red lips. Let's be real: if anyone can convince us to clean out our drawer to make room for even more makeup, it's Janelle Monáe....
