Whitney Eve WE

On the heels of Whitney Port's Whitney Eve New York Fashion Week runway debut, it looks like The City star also will be launching a lower-priced clothing line. The collection, called WE by Whitney Eve, will be available exclusively in Apricot Lane stores across the U.S., according to People StyleWatch. For the spring launch, Whitney's line will include everything from breezy bow-tie blouses to paint-splattered printed pants, which is a more subdued version of her feminine menswear-inspired Aztec print pieces from the Whitney Eve collection. In her first look, Whit wears a silk navy peplum dress ($119) with nude pumps for an effortless night-out ensemble. In a more work-ready outfit, Whitney pairs a lace button-up white blouse ($93) with a crisp white blazer ($130) and a match-with-literally-anything black bubble skirt ($104). We totally can see ourselves sporting this last outfit all weekend long—Whitney wears printed black and neon skinny jeans with a loose bow blouse ($93) and AMAZING pointy black buckle boots. If you're feeling extra daring, try the all-black catsuit ($130) with a sheer overlay paired with sky-high platforms. (Sorry, windblown hair not included.) For the entire list of store locations to purchase the WE by Whitney Eve collection, check out ApricotLaneUSA.com.

madonna shoes

Shoes from Madonna's new Truth or Dare line.
Photo: Courtesy of Aldo Group Inc.

We DARE you not to squeal with sartorial delight after reading this: Madonna is making shoes. *Immediately burns shoe closet, turns up "Burning Up," cries* Yes (slash FINALLY) the "Girl Gone Wild" singer/salacious style Queen of the fashion-y Pop galaxy has partnered with Aldo Group Inc. to create some killer dance floor-ready kicks via her Truth or Dare label. An early image of the fall '12 collection teases us with a pretty pump, a studded stiletto complete with mini bow, and a red carpet-friendly-slash-sexy gilded heel. They're fine and wearable and kind of affordable ($89 to $349), BUT we're shivering under our desks imagining those promised knee-high bangin' boots that Madonna currently lives in (paired with those perpetual fingerless gloves), which we we live and J'DIE for.

Lauren Conrad Fall 2012 Paper Crown

It's hard to believe our Hills girl Lauren Conrad debuted her Paper Crown collection over a year ago already. Oh, how time flies! We'll never forget the first time we spotted her soft and simple floor-grazing gowns and fun shift dresses, but we have to say, she's come a long way since then. LC released the full fall 2012 lookbook yesterday, and we're actually quite delighted with some of the fresh looks from the budding designer. In one of her ensembles, she plays with a fresh silhouette—she pairs a flouncy floral Wimbledon skirt with a rust-colored bow-cuff blouse. We're digging the brown ankle socks with suede platforms for more of a fall feel. Next up is a super short dotted flirty frock that is begging to be taken out for a bike ride. She paired it with opaque brown tights to make it more winter-ready, but that smize only comes from serious practice. For a dressier nighttime look, Lauren created the Kensington Gown, which features a lace corset bodice and a streamlined pale pink skirt. The bow at the waist adds a touch of whimsy, and suddenly we're wondering why we don't wear barrettes on a daily basis.

Photo: Getty Images

By now you might've peeped some pieces from Lil Wayne's recently launched clothing line TRUKFIT (which he's rocking in the photo above), but word on the street is that Weezy's also amid signing a huge sneaker deal. He'll be following in the footsteps of fellow rappers Kanye West, who created the Nike Air Yeezy in 2009, and Jay-Z, who collabed with Reebok in the early 2000s for the S. Carter sneaker. WWD reports that Weezy is "close to inking his own sneaker deal with a major footwear brand," and Lil Wayne told Vibe magazine that it will not be Nike or Reebok.

A look from Bethany Cosentino's line for Urban Outfitters.
Photo: Best Coast's Twitter feed

Did you hear that? It was the collective cacophonous girlie scream of the MTV Style staff taking in the news that Best Coast singer Bethany Cosentino is launching a line with Urban Outfitters. (We were about to type multiple *SQEEEEEE*s right then, buuuut we'll spare you.) It's no secret how much we love Best Coast. But this news about a line designed by Cosentino—announced via Best Coast's Twitter feed—as well as an actual PHOTO has us positively verklempt at the thought of an entire line of indie rock inflected onesie wonderment.

Victoria Beckham

If you're searching for an incredibly tailored, military-inspired frock for fall, look no further. Victoria Beckham's A/W 2012 collection was filled with one sleek body-conscious dress after another. She proved once again that she has mastered the feminine silhouette by going for modest cuts in curve-hugging shapes, but this time she added round gold buttons, strong epaulettes, and high-cut collars. We loved the color-blocked army green and black form-fitting frock with a double wrapped leather belt paired with slouchy socks. This menswear-inspired dress couldn't look more feminine with its impeccable tailoring. Victoria's pieces were mostly muted maroons, greens, and black, but there were a few stand-out colors in her collection—this blue number being our favorite. The bright azure paired with a contrasting maroon collar and cut-out sleeve cuffs adds an updated look to the broad shoulders that were popular during World War II. In another ensemble, she goes all-out military with a structured gold button-up wrap dress paired with gray and black socks. For each look she kept the makeup simple with a bold rep lip, deep side-parted hair, and minimal eye shadow.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé at the 2011 U.S. Open.
Photo: Getty Images

Don't act all surprised. Unless you're baffled that Beyoncé and Jay-Z didn't trademark Blue Ivy Carter's name AS SOON as they decided on it. As in, before the girl was even born. The Washington Post reported that the power couple has recently "filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the baby’s name—and reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags, and other undoubtedly fabulous accoutrements for the fashion-forward infant." Say WHAT?! We're sure Suri will have something to say about THIS.

Kim Gordon Surface to Air

Photo: Getty Images

You may know Kim Gordon as the badass bassist behind Sonic Youth, but a lot of younger gals prooabbbly don't know that she was the QUEEN of cool girl fashion in the '90s. She created the New York alternachick clothing line X-Girl (which now is based exclusively out of Japan), and in 2008 she launched Mirror/Dash, a Françoise Hardy-inspired collection designed exclusively for Urban Outfitters. This week she announced yet ANOTHER designer collab (!!!)—this time with French clothing company Surface to Air. Kim told The New York Times' T Style blog she created 12-piece capsule collection filled with mix-and-match basics. She wanted all her pieces to be able to fit into the overhead compartment of a bus during long tours. “You can’t pack that much for the road, and I’ve always liked the idea of not dressing up for a performance,” she told T Style blog. The line will feature everything from neon orange pants to snakeskin boots to graphic tees, but Kim said her favorite piece from the collection is a silk dress with a digital shattered-glass print with slits down the sides. “It’s a little narrow and sexy, but you can move your arms around, do what you need to do. Girls are going to like that."

Kanye West is confirmed to show at Paris Fashion Week.
Photo: Getty Images

BIG NEWS. Kanye West is showing another collection at Paris Fashion Week! According to today's WWD, West will return to Paris to show his namesake collection, KANYE WEST (it's just his name, y'all, let us never, ever in a million light years evahhh make the mistake of calling it "Dw" again), at 9:30 p.m. on March 6. Even though it will not be on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, it will run on the sidelines of the shows. As you might remember from his Paris fashion debut last year, Yeezy was nervous and the fashion critics were harsh, but we're glad to see him pulling through to give it another go whatever the case. You might also be familiar with the fact—per his triumphant Twitter rant—that the KANYE WEST collection had no financial backing or PR as of a few months ago, so the future of his foray into fashion design remained uncertain.

But, ladies and gentlemen, the power of #DONDA has seen him through! KW is back and, hopefully, better than ever with his new creative conglomerate company crowdsourced and powered by anyone who might have emailed that Gmail address he tweeted on that fateful rant of a night. We're hoping he's put together a winning team of enthusiastic (and talented) peeps who will help make his dreams of being a real designer to contend with come true. We're also mega jazzed to see if there will be anymore sweater heels, jetpack fur bags, mixed silk trousers, and snarling dog jackets that may or may not have been slightly derivative of a certain Givenchy Rottweiler T-shirt, but that's neither here nor there. We LOVE and BELIEVE in you, Kanye. Get up there and show Paris whatcha got!
