The stylish Selena Gomez visits FOX Studios in New York City on June 29, 2011.

This thing happened that kinda crept up on me and as an oldie, I have feelings about it: Selena Gomez became someone I quite respect. Sure, she’s got a boyfriend the majority of teen America would slay massive fire-breathing dragons for, but she has a specific poise I quietly covet. Her red carpet steeze is certainly turning heads, but her general, put-together style is something rather enviable. It’s like, she’s a dream teen, one with just enough sophistication to be looking toward the FUTURE when embarrassing Facebook photos come back to haunt you and still being (as they say) "age appropriate."

So Miss Gomez has decided to impart some of her wisdom onto the general populace by releasing the youthful "Dream Out Loud" collection at Kmart. No high fashion or exorbitant prices here, but Gomez has given her name to a line of easy-to-wear separates like tiered skirts, tortoiseshell sunnies, and a bunch of bright (but not too bright) bags. In stores now, the junior collection seems cozy and cool, with plenty of sensible options for sensible girls like Selena.

Kelly Rowland will be the face of Diddy's fragrance 'Empress.'
Photo: Getty Images/Courtesy of Sean John

Kelly Rowland has not done bad for herself. Sure, Beyoncé is the superstar that immediately comes to mind in the post-Destiny’s Child world, but Miss Rowland has solidified her songstress legacy with a steady string of hits. We still jam to her and Nelly’s “Dilemma” on the regular, and she and Lil’ Wayne sound on point in her newest single (plus she is making headlines with her just-announced tour with VMA performer Chris Brown). Suffice to say, her collaboration game is up to snuff, and her newest project—being the face of Diddy’s newest women’s fragrance, “Empress.”

Set to release this month in Macy’s the light, citrus fragrance is perfect for the winding days of summer. The scent comes in a formidable and regal bottle, which is what Kelly suggests the fragrance is all about. “I just love what Empress represents,” Kelly gushed on Access Hollywood. “It’s just women that are beautiful and powerful in their own right.” Meant to be the lady counterpart to Diddy’s own “I Am King” cologne, the new Sean John ambassadress appears to be, like her old bandmate, a girl who is certainly running the world.

Lauren Conrad showing her Paper Crown line at the ENK Fashion Coterie.
Photo: WireImage

When ex-Hillsie Lauren Conrad released lookbook images from her "passion project" fashion line Paper Crown back in February, we were MORE than stoked to get a glimpse into her new life as a designer. We immediately fell in love with her faux-leather shorts and chiffon maxis, but we wanted MOAARRR. Luckily, Lauren Conrad started a Forbes column that divulges all of her entrepreneurial secrets (SCANDALOUS!). The timing couldn't be more perfect considering her collection is available to buy starting tomorrow (!!!) at Nordstrom, Ron Herman, and Fred Segal. The line retails from $59 and $458, and LC said it was inspired by—drumroll—herself! So, about that column? We'll snip out all of the good parts since we know, like, 98% of Millennials start uncontrollably flinching when they are shown mass amounts of words all grouped together. OH, PARAGRAPHS. THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

Amy Winehouse in Fred Perry

Almost a year ago now, Amy Winehouse teamed up with Brit sportswear line (known for their punk/rockabilly/TENNIS following) Fred Perry to collaborate on a collection. The result was totally Winehouse—bright, reminiscent, filled with narrow pencil skirts and high waists. Earlier this year, the second collaboration was released and has since sold out on the Fred Perry site. Speculation now suggests that, despite her tragic passing, Amy x Fred may have several more seasons under their belt.

emma watson evening wear

Emma Watson's impeccable taste in evening wear.
Photo: Getty Images

Over the past year, it's become markedly clear that Emma Watson's consistently exceptional sartorial game has made her one of the reigning queens of the red carpet. Armed with her fash-forward pixie cut, she effortlessly rocks every full-volume frock the runway has to offer. She's made a name for herself as a respected brand spokesperson for Burberry and People Tree (a fair-trade label with which she collaborated on three collections). Not to mention, she's kind of a magazine cover regular. And our number one choice for a closet raid.

Lucky for us, it seems Emma's a benevolent ruler. Instead of keeping all the style wisdom to herself, she wants to share the wealth by launching a line of evening wear. Though details are short in supply and information seems slightly unreliable as it comes straight from the Daily Mail, no young "celebrity designer" starlet would be more apt at putting down the scripts and picking up a sewing machine. Not only would her efforts be ethically motivated, but the results would certainly arrive face-meltingly awesome with not a single sequin, gem, or ruffle out of place. Based on her already fine-tuned taste, we make a few predictions for what to expect while this story unfolds.

Kanye West and Christine Centenara

While we're rabidly awaiting details about the highly anticipated fashion debuts of both Kanye West and Lil Wayne, so far all we've had to go on is they're happening at some point soon. In the meantime, we've debated on which line we'd rather wear but, sigh, we still can't make a decision. Alas, we FINALLY have some breaking news to report, and it involves stylists!

Kanye West and Lil Wayne recently announced that they're each designing their own clothing lines. Both rappers have highly anticipated new albums on the horizon and both are known for their stylistic flair. Thus, what kind of style might we expect from these two budding designers? More importantly, who would you rather wear: Team Yeezy or Team Weezy?

Lauren Conrad wearing Paper Crown to "Us Weekly"'s 2011 Hot Hollywood Party.
Photo: Getty Images

While we love summer and aren't ready to ditch the shorts and sundresses yet, we still kinda wish fall would hurry up just so we can get our hands on Lauren Conrad's new collection for Paper Crown. Lucky for all of us, the elegantly understated Fall 2011 offerings are due to hit stores soon and include transitional pieces (like shorts and sundresses!) you can wear now and pair with tights and cropped jackets later. Teen Vogue spoke to Conrad, aka their former intern, recently about her "passion project," where she revealed her favorite Paper Crown pieces, including her current everyday-wear obsession—faux leather leggings.

In the interview, Lauren admits to sneaking samples when she gets the chance. We'd do the same because judging by the lookbook, the line is versatile and wearable, not to mention feminine in a chic and flirty way rather than twee and cutesy. According to Conrad: "The pieces are current with a classic feel." And naturally we want them all. Now.

Aside from her design commitments for Kohl's , running not only her Lauren Conrad namesake website but a beauty website, as well as penning a column for Forbes, LC also reveals more details on her new book trilogy in the works called The Fame Game and has already begun designing Paper Crown's Spring 2012 line. This girl isn't slowing down, and she seems to truly enjoy all of her concurrent projects, living by the Paper Crown motto: "Girls just want to have fun...and look lovely while doing it." We couldn't agree more.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen looking alike at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City on March 24, 2011.
Photo: Getty Images

Maybe it's because I still set my DVR to record ANY and all reruns of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Two of a Kind or So Little Time, or because there's a special shelf at my parents' house devoted to my collection of all 41 Full House: Michelle Tanner chapter books (and yes, I did read them all, thank you for asking). Or maybe it's because I hold a job that demands I know every step, hair flip, and eye twitch of the Olsen twins (AND Elizabeth Olsen). In any case, mistaking Mary-Kate for Ashley Olsen and vice versa is a grave, grave, absolutely punishable offense, if only by cold shoulders and even icier stares (Also, passive-aggressive avoidance because that's, like, the electric chair of social punishment, right??).

That said, it cuts pretty deep to hear that a national newspaper, the UK's Daily Mail, published a story with the headline, "Make-up free Ashley Olsen is unrecognisable in casual jeans and a shirt as she shares a smoke break with mystery man" and the photo was actually of Mary-Kate. *cue a chorus of earnest gasps and shrieking koalas and utter pandemonium* The headline has since been corrected, but the gash in our hearts is still very raw.
